The Meath Arms is a beautiful Country Inn with a long tradition of hospitality, located right in the heart of the Garden of Ireland: Wicklow. Established in 1728 the business is today still owned and run by the Phelan family. Each room was individually designed, with comfort and style adding to the wonderful athmosphere.The Inn is located in the centre of Aughrim Village, approximately 80 km (1 hour drive) south of Dublin, and at the foot of Lugnaquilla : Irelands 3rd biggest Mountain. With Entertainment in Paddys Bar weekly, not to mention the unique restaurant located at the back of the premises, serving only the best in food & service. We accommodate many self catering walkers but also specialise in Tailor making 3 day or 5 day packages for walkers, including an experienced local tour guide (who knows all the secrets!) allowing you to see some of the most beautiful scenic views Ireland has to offer. The Wicklow way, Lugnaquilla Mountain, Croghan hill, The Bray cliff walk, The Glen Of Immal and Glendalough are among the hundreds of beautiful places to see all within minutes, making The Meath Arms Country Inn the perfect location for your ultimate walking holiday

Called to make a reservation following consultation on Trip Advisor and the website for the venue. Phone eventually answered and I was asked to 'hold a moment'. Lots of background noise. Twelve minutes later I hung up. Rang the following day and eventually went to voicemail. Left a message and three days later - no reply. This venue clertly demonstrates a contempt for it's established communication preferences and for prospective customers. If this is an indication of it's attitude to customer service I will give it a miss and based on my wide sampling of venues I stay at across the country on business, I'd advise anyone to do the same.

Loved our stay at the Meath Arms. The decor is fabulous, breakfast was delicious. The hosts were super accommodating and picked up and dropped off my friend and I from Ironbridge as we were hiking the Wicklow Way. This made things so much easier for us! The food in the restaurant was tasty and the staff was friendly. My only (minor) criticism was that the mattresses we had could probably do with being changed and the room wasn't as clean as other places we stayed along the way. The shower alone is worth going back for though!

Myself and my daughter age 12 were camping at Hidden Valley campsite (wonderful) when the torrential rain created a flood in our tent. I called the Meath Arms and I explained the situation to the owner, who had locked up the hotel and had gone home for the night. Well.. he said he wouldn't see us stuck, he came back and re-opened the hotel again for us and accommodated our dog as well ... WOW. Irish staycation style.. I really love the hotel, if you like quirky antique furniture as I do, you will love this place. The dining room is lovely, old style but very tastefully decorated. I look forward to coming back when I can enjoy the pub and the restaurant as well. Thanks guys, see you again.

Lovely visit to the neath arms great location and nice hotel very quaint very welcoming breakfast was great the dining room was warm and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and attentive.I would definitely like to return and have already recommended it to my daughter

We went for a family dinner 6 adults and one child .... DISGRACEFUL server rude and offhand like she didn't want us there.. the thing is she wasn't aware 5 of us are local . Well none of our party will return AVOID....
