The Annebrook House Hotel is Mullingar's newest 4* hotel. Centrally located in the centre of Mullingar over looking acres of Town Park. The Annebrook offers an excellent service to both its corporate & leisure guests. The hotel is built around an original Georgian house tastefully entwining the old with the new. The hotel boasts 26 executive rooms, 2 champagne suites, and 36 luxury 2 bedroom apartments which also have two en suites and a living area, the apartments are connected to the hotel via a glass walkway. All the accommodation is to a high standard. The Brosna River flows through the grounds of the Annebrook Houses. The river its self is probably one of the prime reasons why Mullingar exists at all as it would have been a significant factor why the Normans chose to build here in the medieval times. Dining at The Annebrook is a unique experience. The Old House Restaurant is located in the cellar of the Old house, with its original limestone walls and its original fire places it has a warm cosy Berty's bar offers a option of Carvery served at lunchtime or a bar food menu served in the evening.

Excellent place for a stay in Mullingar (a picturesque, friendly Irish midlands town).
We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist with the good news that we were being given a free upgrade to a suite, just a random selection. This was very welcome. The room was spacious, charming, well equipped, comfortable and clean. It had a very relaxing jacuzzi bath.
Breakfast had good choices, hot and cold; staff were efficient and pleasant.
We were permitted to bring our bicycles inside the hotel and my e-bike was given an overnight charge in a secure place.
The hotel is very centrally located near shops, bars, restaurants.
It has an old fashioned and quaint charm, with a friendly atmosphere.
Would def. recommend and stay again if in Mullingar.

We stayed in the Annesbrook Hotel for my 60th and my better half wanted to return for her birthday as we had such a good stay.

This time they had a wedding on in the hotel and it did spoil the experience due to excessive noise levels from the music, where we would return I would want confirmation that there was no wedding on that evening.

The review:

Check in was excellent and like other reviewers our room was available early, the receptionist did tell us during check-in that they had a wedding that day (no mention during booking or during the on-line check -in process) so it would have been to late to cancel and defer.

She mentioned it might be a little noisy, when I asked her how noisy she replied only in certain areas as people moved about but if we had any issues to come back to her. No mention of loud music at all.

We booked the dinner package in the restaurant and the food was fab, Pat the food manager looked after us real well.

My only disappointment was I requested during our reservation, again during the on-line check-in and a third time to the receptionist (she said would let the restaurant manager know) that we were back to celebrate her birthday and to ask if they could place a candle on her dessert to mark the occasion, this never happened, it hurt more when the couple at the adjoining table had a candle placed on theirs and staff sand happy birthday, a minor thing I know, but why ask if you have any requests if they are not going to fulfill them after requesting 3 times.

Breakfast was really nice and fresh.

We enjoyed the band in the bar though they were being drown out at times by the music in the function room above.

My main issue was we when we returned to our room around midnight which was on the top floor, 2 floors above the wedding, the noise was desperate. I wanted to go to reception to see what they could do but she was tired and did not want to have to start to pack up our things to leave it.

The music persisted until 215am and it was impossible to sleep, I measured the noise in our room at 82 dba (I am a Health and Safety Expert and have a decibel meter on my phone) the noise fluctuated between 78-82 dba constantly. At 85 dba employers must make hearing protection available to employees so that puts the noise level into perspective, there must be no noise/acoustic suppression systems in place.

It was quiet after the music stopped.

Where we would return I would never stay or recommend any fried stay when a wedding was on unless attending the wedding.

My husband and I stopped in Mullingar for an evening before visiting the Hill of Uisneach and continuing onto Dublin. The Annebrook House Hotel came highly recommended, so we opted to a book a stay there. We sprung for the Moet Suite, which was a sprawling suite with an amazing bathroom that included both a great shower and a whirlpool tub for two. That tub was worth the upgrade alone!

We also book a meal-inclusive rate that included a three-course meal in the Old House Restaurant and breakfast the following morning. The dinner was one of the absolute best we've ever had in a hotel restaurant. Everything was delicious and fresh, and the portions were surprisingly generous. The restaurant manager, Pat, made sure that the experience was perfect start to finish! The breakfast the following morning was also amazing. If you stay, I definitely recommend booking an inclusive rate that includes meals!

We had only two minor complaints with the stay. Parking was very full the day we were there and we had to pull all the way around to back of the building to find a space. Also, the bed in our room was very stiff and we woke up sore the next morning.

We stayed in the Annebrook Apartments to celebrate my sister's hen weekend. There were 26 of us booked into the apartments and most of us stayed for 2 nights. We also had our evening meal on the Saturday night. Our experience with all staff working in the Annebrook Hotel was excellent. The manager Clancy was a pleasure to deal with on the phone. The team at reception were always so approachable and dealt with our queries so professionally. The bar staff and night porter were friendly.
The best experience we had was dealing with Pat Byrne the Restaurant Manager on duty that weekend. He made it his business to speak with me as the party organiser on Saturday morning to discuss the evening meal and show me the beautifully laid out room which was reserved for us. He was clear about every detail which left me feeling assured that all would be taken care of and he had a great sense of humour. He was true to his word and everything ran like clockwork. It was evident at breakfast on both mornings that Pat is an excellent manager as there were no delays in service and he was visible each morning to address any issues. The food was tasty and well presented.
The apartments were clean, spacious, warm and quiet. The view from the apartments was lovely with swans visible from each balcony. Most pubs and restaurants were within easy walking distance of the hotel. I would definitely stay there again if in Mullingar. Thank you for making my sister's hen weekend so nice.

I had a hospital appointment early so decided to stay overnight here, Hotel is clean and the male receptionist was friendly, informed of restaurant times and upcoming band playing in the bar and it might be heard in my room, and to call if it was an issue. I ventured out for the early evening returning at 9pm to relax and watch some tv, and yes I could easy hear the music from the room. wasn't a huge issue as knew it would end about 11:30.?The room was comfortable double and single bed, shower and bath, room was just a tad cold I couldn't locate any thermostat. Upon check out the same receptionist was on duty informed me about breakfast, said I had to leave straight away and he kindly offered my a take away, only for I was fasting from the evening before I'd have happily taken up his offer.
I can't comment on Parking, catering or bar as I didn't avail of either.
I'd have no problem in recommending Annebrook House Hotel for a stay and if I'm back in Mullingar it will be my first option.

Attentive, helpful and friendly service made the stay stress-free. Whether at reception, who had me all set for a 5am departure the next day, or in the bar which served me even though I got there just as they'd stopped serving food, or the quick and thorough service at breakfast, "great service" will be how I remember this stay. Breakfast choice was good, the hotel is also readily accessible from the M4/N4, has a pleasant setting, and is easy to park at. Niggles (and they are very minor) were that the room decor was a little "brown" for my taste and Smithwicks (which I happen to like) was the only ale choice in the bar. But overall, a great choice for my business trip and a good decision to stay in this one hotel in Mullingar even though I had to make a day-trip to Kilkenny.

Fantastic hotel in a beautiful location. My family and I stayed here as we wanted to go to Land Of Light at Belvedere House. We were given an apartment room which was huge in size and very pleasantly surprised. Berty’s bar which is part of the hotel is also fantastic with a great atmosphere. We planned to have dinner and then leave at 8:30pm, but then the live music started and we stayed until 11pm as it was fantastic. The breakfast was also far superior to what we were expecting of normal hotel breakfasts. There is also a lovely park area next to the hotel. The only minor issue was the amount of cars parking at the hotel that wasn’t even staying there the night, taking up spaces and making parking spaces quite scarce. I will definitely be staying again with my family.

Decided on this location as halfway point between 2 friends one coming from east coast and other, from west coast and, so very pleased we did. From location just off a Main St, to ample free parking, courteous and efficient greeting with key ready due to advance online check-in to room, all, 100%.
Room most spacious, white linen, beautiful bathroom with everything provided, safe, iorning board, plenty of wardrobe space and great opening windows, I only wished I was staying longer than one night.
Few pre-dinner drinks in bar, 3 course dinner in diningroom and breakfast in same location following morning and, EVERY staff member, smiling, efficient and greeted us at every encounter. Restaurant and Bar service was, friendly fast and efficient and food, top quality. There was absolutely nothing to niggle about Oh and beds, sooo comfortable. Highly recommend this location which also had covered outside coffee/drinks area....I hope to make a return visit in the not too distant future.

We stayed here for my daughters wedding. It feels old and outdated and lacked charm. The staff were it's best quality, especially Pat in the breakfast restaurant. I personally didn't enjoy the food, I found it to be basic and barely warm. I ordered an Annebrook burger, and it was a plain unexciting burger that was thrown together, definitely not worth 17€ I think I paid an extra 1€ for cheese. Other family members thought the bar food was nice. Breakfast was plentiful, fruit, cereal and hot food and fresh pancakes were made. The hotel is outdated and needs a serious revamp. Its old fashioned but not in a charming way, more like its let itself go. We stayed as a family of 4 and stayed for 2 nights in an apartment and it was disgusting. The bang of stale smoke hit you when you opened the door. The apartment had a nice view and was spacious. It had a kitchenette too and fridge. The headboards had leather peeling off them. The bedside lockers were all marked on the top. The patio door hinge was broken. The sofas were old and fit for a skip. The kitchen chair was broken. The room was dusty, musty and smelly. This apartment was overpriced for what it is. It had the feeling it was churned out for hens & stags. The staff overall were lovely. The only reason I didn't pack my bags and leave or complain was it was my daughters wedding. I won't be returning to this hotel unless it gets done up. We spent a fortune in the hotel on accommodation, food and drink and we were ripped off.

15 of us stayed in Annebrook in mid July for a hen party and I cannot recommend the place enough. We took advantage of the self-catering / dinner package aimed at large groups and hen parties, which was great value.
The accommodation was very clean and the saff of the hotel very friendly and accommodating, with nothing being too much of an ask.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
