As you come up the driveway, you are impressed immediately by the house itself. And then you meet Aideen and you are doubly impressed. She immediately made us feel at home, showed us the very large dining room and the guest lounge. He husband helped us up the stairs with our luggage and when the door was opened, we were blown away. Huge room with US king sized bed, sofa and chairs and a wall of windows that over looked the lovely grounds in front of the house. This room was over the double car port. The bed was so comfey but when I tell you it was a 4 posterm canopied bed will you believe me? So much room. Breakfast was a delight each of the two days we stayed. Aideen makes her own scones - not store bought. It is a working farm but the animals are far off. As you sit for breakfast at the window table, you can watch the lough, see the birds flying, farm animals, and the commuter train as it hugs the lough and you never hear it. I would recommend this B&B in a heart beat!!!…
Oh my gosh, where to start. Aideen was such a lovely host. The B&B was absolutely beautiful. The room was AMAZING with a canopy bed!!! Felt like we stayed in a castle! The bed was very comfortable. Wonderful breakfast experience. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!!!
This was our last stop on a week-long trip and it was wonderful! The Lodge is set in a beautiful location in the Midlands; far enough from town to make for a quiet getaway but close enough to have some restaurants, nightlife and services close by. An October stay made it all the more pleasant with the changing leaves and the fresh cool air! Our room was very spacious and exceptionally clean with a separate small sitting area. The en-suite bath was clean and sizable. The bed was comfortable. The flat screen TV had sufficient programming options. The hosts were pleasant and accessible and the beautiful home was open- we could use the sitting room and dining area at any time of day or night. Breakfast was made to order and served in the lovely dining area! We would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if we were nearby!…
We drove up from Dublin and were warmly greeted by Aideen and Martin, our hosts. We were made to feel very welcome and during our three day stay, anything we needed was provided with a smile. On our last night Martin drove us into town so we didn't have to worry about using our car. Then called and picked us up after we had dinner. I found that very special. It is run the way B&B accommodation used to be, with some time to chat and get to know each other as well as getting local knowledge. By the way the breakfasts are sensational. I would recommend them to everybody.
We stayed 2 nights at this B&B at the end of our vacation to Ireland. We intentionally saved this place for last so we could have a peaceful place to end our 2 week whirlwind trip to Ireland. It was the most beautiful inn and such a peaceful location with lake views and the farm setting is quite serene. We visited with some of the other guests in the breakfast room and living room and sat out on tables and chairs in the backyard with a beautiful sunset over the lake, so peaceful. The innkeepers are extremely friendly and welcoming and Aideen went out of her way to provided a special little treat for my husband’s birthday when I asked if she could pick me up a little something for him. Customer service above and beyond! Our room was spacious and beautiful and very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast is freshly made every morning and delicious with several choices to choose from. Our only regret is we could not stay longer. This is a must stay at place in Ireland!…
