Detailed Reviews
A lovely hotel located in a peaceful and picturesque corner of West Waterford. Aidan & Patricia run a nice, clean, friendly hotel. The rooms have recently been refreshed, so everything is comfortable and clean. The breakfast is great and we were lucky the sun shone, so could enjoy a drink outdoors in the lovely garden.
It was our first holiday while living with Covid restrictions but to be honest, a few adjustments to breakfast service, as well as limited bar service, and seating removed from the bedroom, we enjoyed the stay and hope to return soon.
Only minor point is that noise insulation between rooms was not excellent & doors close with a bit of a bang, but not a major issue.

I was recently invited to my friend's 60th birthday dinner, held in the hotel. The hotel itself is right in the village of the beautiful scenic seaside village of Ardmore, Co Waterford. This family run hotel is friendly and welcoming and the service is second to none.
The meal... Well there were plenty of choices to be had.. I chose the roast beef. It was so tender (and plenty of it!) and tasty. Came with new potatoes and veg. Now, I'm a big eater and love my food... I had trouble finishing it as they didn't skimp on the portions. Others at the table ordered the steak..and each was cooked perfectly as asked.
The personal service provided made it a wonderful dinning experience.
I can recommend The Round Tower Hotel for any small/medium occasion. The food and surroundings are fantastic. The large outside sitting/dinning area is perfect on a sunny day to have lunch or a few drinks, relax and watch the world go by.

What a treasure. Ardmore can be pretentious at times with The Cliff House and The Whitehorses. The food at The Cliff and the staff are very overrated, IMO, unless you are staying with them and then they would give you a kidney, should you need it. #fake. I have worked as waiting staff in several restaurants and business in my lifetime ( I'm 44) and seeing the staff here, makes me concerned for the future of 5☆ and what good service ought to look like. The food in the Whitehorses is undeniably good. However, only 2 sittings available at either 6pm or 8pm with a take it or leave it attitude, rubs me the wrong way. One to early and the other ( by the time they ACTUALLY bring your food) too late. Also extremely busy to build a rapport with their regular guests and very expensive. This evening, we decided on The Round Tower. What a surprise. Excellent service ( not an uptight waiter with a Relais and Chateau pin in sight). Good, decent service. Hospitality at its best. The menu was excellent. I had the smoked and cured sirloin steak ( I have never had something taste this good). My husband had the burger, which he said was unbelievable. From start to finish, such a delight. It's my official favourite place in Ardmore. Don't bother with the rest. Your pallet and wallet will thank you.

We are regular Summer visitors and dined in the Round Tower Hotel at the end of July.
The chef from Holland has made a big impact over four years and our food ratings were very high. The dining room is very well decorated and well laid out. Most of the diners were in casual dress and notably, the menu prices are competitive. The menu is limited but the plaice, lasagna and burger were all well presented and tasted very good. The hotel owner was overseeing the busy dining room and the staff were courteous and efficient. The small traditional bar has a lot of character. Overall, highly recommended.

Thank you to Trish, Adian,Pascal and all the team, we had a really lovely visit to the Round Tower Hotel. We were totally chilled by the time we left. The Hotel is family run, very relaxed, 5 mins walk from the beach. The standard of cleanliness is excellent and the food was topclass (many 5*'s would be put to shame on both counts). The food was presented very well, great flavours, with quality produce mainly from the local area. It really is great value for money and a great place to stay for a get away from the world! We enjoyed lovely walks on the beach and everyone was so friendly. Suited to both couples and families. Enjoy.

Went for lunch with my 2 kids. Friendly and quick service. Kids loved the pasta dish and saugage and chips - proper delicious Irish sausages. Would definitely recommend visiting. The rest of the menu looked great too.

This is a wonderful family run hotel, staff so very pleasant. Rooms modern and very comfortable, I'd say recently decorated. We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening and I could happily describe the quality and presentation of the food as Michelin Star quality. A very short walk from the hotel and you are into the very lovely village of Ardmore. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Gem of a hotel to anyone, well worth a visit.

Mother of God I was not expecting this!, A group of 30 women, day trip, dinner booked, 4 Coeliacs in the group. Place had a lovely easygoing feeling. Very clean. Staff so friendly and helpful even though some of us couldn't remember what we had ordered 😁. Any way, starter, 2 large mushrooms in breadcrumbs, sauce and a lovely fresh lettuce on the side. Presentation lovely, flavour fabulous! Next up fish and chips, minty pea thing, absolutely fresh crispy batter, divine. My dessert was Eaton mess with a slab of chocolate that would do on its own!, all this was gluten free. I thought I might have died on the way up the road and gone to Heaven (Coeliac Heaven), highly recommended. Thanks Round Tower people, I will be back.

Dear dowlwan, Thanks so much for getting in touch. Aidan here at the hotel is a coeliac too so we know how much it means to discover good gluten free food. Our Chefs have worked hard to ensure that this seasons menus have allergens at the fore. Great to have your women's group with us and we look forward to having you back. We visited for two nights. From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome. Aidan and his team are amazing. We had booked B&B only but decided to have dinner there too. Dinner on both nights was delicious and so reasonably priced! The breakfast was also excellent. There is a great atmosphere in and around the hotel created in no small way by Aidan and his lovely, friendly, relaxed manner. We were very lucky to have sunny weather for our stay and were delighted to avail of a great variety of outside seating in the grounds. Highly recommended

Stayed for a night. Tepid welcome from the old fella at reception.
Place very clean. Bar at the back, nice. Room 4, pokey. Had to shuffle sideways down the side of the bed.
Floorboard went off like a rifle shot every time walked on it and difficult to avoid as room is tiny.
Breakfast was lovely and girls, very nice and helpful.
National flags outside. Every other guests origin was flying but not ours. /(*_')
