2021 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
In the heart of Ireland lies Ashley Park House. An 18th century country house offering the visitor bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation on the grandest scale. From the moment you arrive, you are aware that this is no ordinary B&B - Ashley Park House provides a setting of unmatched tranquility and peace. A worthy respite from the rigours of modern living. Set in 76 acres of beech woodland and formal gardens, the historic country house sits on the shores of Lough Ourna, giving the visitor ample scope to pursue a wide range of activities including fishing, golf, sailing, horse riding and hiking. What better way to end the day than with a full four course dinner and wine in the red dining room, surrounded by gilt mirrors and gazing over the lake.

The first thing that hits you when you open the old door to enter is the authenticity of the place. Everything is original , no modern intrusion. Beautiful reception rooms with a big open fire and a fantastic smell of decades of timber and turf fires. Lovely original furniture everywhere , a very relaxing start to the visit. We then sat down to eat. Again they got it spot on with the table setting. Fine bone China and old silver cutlery adorning the table . The starter of salmon and prawns cold was fantastic, just perfect, no heavy sauces just excellent freshness and taste. The soup was leak and potato which was top notch. I went for sirloin steak for mains. Asked for it medium and it was the most perfect medium steak when it arrived. Dessert and tea followed , also excellent. So impressed overall .

Myself and Declan would like to say a huge thank you to Margaret, Yaka and all the team at Ashley Park for helping us have the the most amazing wedding day on 1/8/21. We and our guests were blown away by the venue, the food and the ability to have some ‘normal fun’ after so long. We can’t thank you enough for accommodating us. We look forward to visiting again many times in the future. It’s a truly unique, relaxing and magical setting. Excellent service also. Angie and Declan

A most perfect day here was had for all our guests. The venue, it’s food, the service from the friendly staff with Jaka, Lyra and the owner Margaret standing out made our Wedding all we could have hoped for. The grounds are beyond stunning with the lake, the garden and the ceremony boathouse making this venue the most beautiful we had seen by a clear country mile. We had the most perfect day for our guests and ourselves. A magical setting that allowed us do some very special things. The highlight for us was the a performance we put together with fire dancers, irish dancers and drummers by the lake. This was world class due to the performers and setting. A magic day and venue. We can’t recommend Ashley Park highly enough.

We got in touch with Margaret 7 weeks before our wedding day, by luck she had our wedding date free. The second we viewed the venue we were 100% certain we had to change to this stunning location. We were both amazed that we had never heard of this venue, Margaret's relaxed and professional attitude welcomed us so warmly to Ashley Park House. The old main house, the marquee, the accommodation for our guests, the boathouse, walled gardens & lake views topped off with the best weather of the Summer made our wedding day so perfect. We loved every minute of our day, from champagne toasts in the bridal suite, an intimate ceremony with our friends, family & two dogs present. Delicious canapés served with a smile from all the lovely staff on the lawn, followed by the speeches, perfect setting for celebration. All of our guests were blown away with the impeccable standard of service at Ashley Park house. From speaking with our guests since the wedding so many of them have said it was the best wedding venue they have ever attended. Both myself & Rob cannot recommend this venue highly enough. The stress of planning a wedding during covid numerous times was forgotten when driving in the gates of Ashley Park. The standard of the food during our meal tasting night and on the wedding day itself was a different class to any other wedding I have attended. Rob is coeliac and everything was tailored for him throughout the day. We cannot wait to come back for a meal & B&B soon. Any couple considering booking their wedding here will be so privileged to enjoy the best setting, service and staff in Tipperary.

We had our wedding reception in Ashley Park House on the 19th July. It was a magical day. The location is absolutely stunning and we felt as if we were in the South of France, as we were blessed with wonderful sunshine! Margaret and her team were exceptional - they could not have done enough for us and for our guests on our special day. The day exceeded all our expectations. Originally our wedding was booked for May but due to these unprecedented times, we had to postpone until July. Margaret was flexible and most accommodating - no request was too great or too small. The wedding banquet was exquisite with local produce from their own gardens featuring heavily on the menu. We were so fortunate to have our own private lake and colourful walled gardens as a backdrop to our wedding photographs. The accommodation was superb - the rooms in the main house were spacious, comfortable and featured beautiful antique furniture. The guests all commented on how comfortable and spacious their rooms were too. We would highly recommend Ashley Park House as a wedding venue.
