Had a recent 2 night stay here and stayed at the front of the hotel. Impressive building upon arrival but you quickly realise that some work is needed all round. The whole hotel is quite dated and the bedrooms were quite lacking in personality. Unfortunately staying at front of house meant a bright external light shining into your window all...

Breakfast was a joy, the gorgeous local food was amazing lots of choice hot or cold couldn't fault it. We ate every night in the restaurant downstairs well worth the money as the food is wonderful. A great hotel but sadly the food has never matched the welcome or the facilities! Our friends invited us the other evening for dinner, we ate in the bar, service was spot on however, the food was awful. My wife had fish and chips and I have to say the chips were stale, wooden yuk! Normally I would attempt a...

Stayed here overnight before my daughters athletics event in Nenagh. Excellent service, staff could not have been more helpful. Beds extremely comfortable and room was spotless. Yes, it is an old hotel and that shows in the some places (bathroom tiles) but the hotel really has a charm about it, and is very cosy despite being so big. Breakfast was...

We have stayed in hotel 12 times over the last few years as we have family in the area. Staff are always helpful, courteous and happy. Family rooms are very big and some of them have a separate room off the main bedroom for the kids which is great (ie not just one large room). Pool and leisure centre are...

Have stayed here a couple of times - once in a lodge and once in the hotel itself. Both locations were great. Lodge was ideal for having family stay and having all the facilities of home, dishwasher, washing machine, TV in all rooms, comfortable and cosy living room. Hotel was great for a shorter stay for just two of us....

Large hotel rlocated just off the N7 motorway and a short walk to Nenagh town centre. Rlatively modern rooms spacious and very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Dear Rupertddog, Thanks very much for taking the time to write a review of the hotel. The hotel is very busy for conferencing, functions, weddings, tours, etc and yes we do have a lot of members of the Gardaí in from time to time but its certainly not used as a training college as you suggest.
