Hotel itself is amazing, lovely decor and the staff very helpful. Breakfast was very good, everything cooked very fresh, and very prompt with tea and toast. On check in I was recommended the Bar & Restaurant for eating in, came down at 7:15pm to find both had closed, as it was quiet. I had seen in the guest book that it may be closed earlier on quieter times, maybe you should just give a specific time, rather than play it by ear with the kitchen on the night, I think that would be more beneficial to people who were staying their for the first time.
Accommodation opened the door of the room also at 11:20am, they did not knock. They were apologetic, but I think if check out is 12pm, 40 minutes before to start entering rooms is unnecessary.

Our Family of 5 have just finished our 4 night stay at the Yeats Hotel. We had the most amazing time. This hotel is so family friendly. Our children had so much fun. The met lots of friends in the kids club. The swimming pool was lots of fun. We were allocated a daily slot of 50 minutes which was enough for us. I'll touch on all the positive poi first and then talk about a few negative points but these are very minor. The positives are, 1. The staff are so friendly, acommadating and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. 2. Food, we were on a 4 nights B&B with 3 Dinners package. The 4 course dinner menu was changed every day and had some extremely tasty food on there. The vegetable soup was gorgeous, the roast beef dinner was succulent. I wouldn't have one bad thing to say about the beautiful dinners. The breakfast was nice but not as nice as dinner. The staff worked so hard to please everyone. The days of the buffet breakfast is over so the staff have to serve you everything. That's a lot of work for them. Everything regarding the covid restrictions was managed very well. 3. Hotel entertainment, there was a singer in the residence bar every night. There was one young guy who was brilliant but the other singers were more geared towards older people (not our cup of tea). 4. Kids club. My kids loved the kids club so much that they went at the 5.30pm and the 7.30pm slot. This gave myself and my husband lots of time to ourselves to enjoy a drink in the bar after dinner. Okay, now to the slight negatives. I felt like the cleanliness of the bedroom we stayed in wasn't up to the standard of a 4 star hotel. Given the current covid pandemic, I felt the rooms should have been cleaned to a higher standard. I had brought disinfectant wipes with me so I wiped everything in the room which made me more relaxed. That's about all the negative feedback I have. I feel the Yeats Hotel is more like a 3 star hotel and not a 4 star. We are definitely returning for the Halloween midterm break so the positive points completely out weigh the negative. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.

Hi Gerry, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at the Yeats Country Hotel Spa & Leisure Club. It is with great pleasure I am reading your very detailed and positive review following your time with us. We are so pleased that you and your family had a memorable experience with us. Our Go!Kids Club is always very popular with families as the girls always seem to build a magnificent relationship with the kids! I am so delighted that you enjoyed your evening meals in our Elsinore Restaurant. The roast beef is certainly a guest favorite and has been for years. I am sorry that the breakfast did not live up to the same standard as your evening meals. We are always trying to improve every avenue of our guests' journey so perhaps this is an area we will look to address. It is fantastic to see that you felt safe in our hands under our COVID-19 safety protocols. We haven't left anything to risk since we reopened and do not plan to until we continue to stop the spread of the virus. Our live music preformers are always open to suggestions from our guests. We apologize if the era of music was not to your taste. I will gladly pass on your remarks regarding this. I am sorry to hear that you felt that your room was not cleaned to a high enough standard on your arrival. We have a quality check procedure in motion once a room has been cleaned before offered to our guests checking in. I will review this and deal with this matter internally. We look forward to seeing you and your families familiar face in Halloween! Kindest regards,

Attended Yeats for a two night break with husband and son. Hotel beautiful location. Decor in hotel tired and in need of a face lift in places but not the worst I have seen. Rooms spacious and beds comfy. Room itself on surface appeared clean however having to retrieve something that rolled under the bed proved otherwise with dust bunnies and sweet wrappers when the bed moved back. Toilet seat broken in bathroom on arrival. Shower was freezing in the hottest setting throughout our stay. Best bet for a hot shower is at the pool however again not the cleanest and have to continue to press to keep water flowing.
Food in dinning room discusting, could not eat it, chips seemed deep fat fried then oven heated. Fish tasteless and swimming in grease. Desserts not much better, got cheesecake which had a sponge base that was soggy and tasted like a frozen dessert.
Kids chips were frozen and the fish gougions were more over-cooked batter than anything else. Breakfast also poor mirroring many of the previous reviews. My advice is to eat elsewhere. Food in bar area however marginally better than was served in dinning room.
Pool times allocated to 45 mins and changing rooms supposed to be cleaned in between. Never seen much cleaning however, the toilets in pool Changing were totally discusting both times we used the pool and we were first in changing rooms at each session so definitely not cleaned in between. Hotel staff friendly. Just check the bill in way out as tired to charge me for an adult dinner extra in the dinning room which was bad enough considering how poor the food was but this was rectified when pointed out before paying the bill

Whilst staff at this hotel were all very nice, unfortunately this was one of the only good things about our stay. The situation at the hotel can be described as chaotic at best.

Management had provided staff with conflicting information regarding ordering food / sitting arrangements / ordering alcoholic drinks at the bar. The staff were unable to tell us what the policy was and in fact asked us to move seats during our food as we were sitting close to people who had been in the bar for the 1.5 hours allotted time even though we had just arrived 20 mins previously. Whilst I can appreciate the covid national situation is changing, I have just recently stayed at other hotels where guests were informed of exactly what the hotel policies were on arrival and everything was made clear from the beginning. In fact I had just returned from another hotel 2 days before checking in to the Yeats and had a completely different experience.

The cleaning staff banging on the room doors at 9am every morning is not conducive to a relaxing stay. Again, this is not something I have experienced in other hotels, where rooms are cleaned whilst guests are out for breakfast or swims etc. This is extremely easy to organise currently given that breakfast and swimming times must be pre-booked.

The heat in the hotel was unbearable at times. I had the pleasure of staying in Sligo during beautiful weather. However whilst it was approx 23 degrees outside, it was even hotter inside the hotel. We then realised that the heating was actually turned on as the radiators around the hotel were hot. This is absolutely crazy during the hottest weekend of the year. It made guests very uncomfortable.

Breakfast each morning was a disaster. We waited on average 40 mins each day for coffee and were told one morning that the staff did not know how to use the machine so we didn't get any. Simple requests such as placing an order for toast etc required asking at least 3 waiting staff before someone actually brought the items to the table.

The decor at the hotel needs updating. Whilst the bed in our room was comfortable, there was wallpaper pealing off the walls, stains in the carpets and the toilet seat was badly stained. One of the days during our stay we had no hot water in our room and had to have cold showers. As a paying guest with young children (one an infant) this was unacceptable.

Whilst this was my first experience of Sligo and I will definitely return to this beautiful county, this will definitely be my last time staying at the Yeats Country Hotel. Again, I would like to reiterate that staff were very nice at all times, and we were offered a €30 discount on our €497 stay for 3 nights after the receptionist asked for some feedback, but this is not enough to justify a return to this hotel unless something radical changes in the clear mismanagement of the place.

I've been coming to the Yeats Country for short breaks for a few years with different friends and relatives and we always feel instantly relaxed. The location is amazing but the staff make this hotel great. Was there in September, aiming to socially distance from a friend from a different household and we were accommodated with large, individual rooms, and at mealtimes, a large table so it turned out to be easy to do so. The restaurant staff were amazingly proactive and friendly and the food has gotten even better. We were so lucky with the weather this visit, we spent our time outdoors on the cliff top or swimming at the wonderful, clean beach that is right there on the doorstep but the last time I was there was during storm Ciara with cousins and we enjoyed it just as much as we had seaweed baths and used the pool that time. I would feel comfortable visiting on my own for leisure purposes so maybe some time I will.

Dear Anne-Marie O Thank you for your lovely review, I am delighted to read you enjoyed your stay with us and have done so in previous years with friends and family. Thank you for staying in September and for mentioning the physical distancing guidelines which have been introduced throughout the hotel. I am delighted to read you enjoyed your accommodation and meals. We are located just 5 minutes walk from Rosses Point beach which is a joy what ever the weather. The seaweed baths are a real treat and I am glad you got to experience them during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Take care, With Kindest Regards,

We had a great stay. From arrival to check out everyone was lovely. No queue when we checked in or out & everything explained clearly. Our room was on the ground floor looking out at the car park & golf course. It was a great size & very clean. Yes it could do with a little modernisation but it was spotless. They were very COVID safe . Lots of stations to sanitise your hands all staff wearing masks or behind screens. We opted not to have the room serviced everyday for our own peace of mind, there were fresh towels & water left in a sealed bag outside the door. We personally appreciated this, might not be for everyone but was our choice.
We didn’t have to queue for the restaurant for longer than 5 mins so to say there were queues are slightly misleading. What did hold the queue up were guest talking to the obviously busy staff. A clearer direction on your 1st day as to what is available for breakfast would help as I wasn’t aware you could order mushrooms until I spotted someone else get them & I read on here pancakes are available but they weren’t mentioned to us. I was disappointed in the poached eggs(sorry chief) but we like ours soft & they weren’t although on the 3rd morning I asked for them to be soft & they were better. The food was good & homely very much to our taste. The service at dinner was very efficient & the staff were so good. Won’t name anyone cause they were all brilliant pleasant & helpful. Yes they were very young but we thought they were very good & well trained.
We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions & we will be back. Thank you everyone.

Stayed in Yeats country hotel. Hotel was satisfactory , staff are pleasant and work very hard to ensure the safety of their clients . There is hand sanitising gels and COVID rules of engagement displayed . Disappointed we couldn’t get a sitting for breakfast or dinner when we arrived, even though we tried to do prebooking . All booked out . As a result ,We went to Sligo town for breakfast and dinner . There was no follow up by management offering any alternatives. Perhaps it was an oversight but other families with small kids had similar experiences. My perception is that all residents were not accommodated as first preference . There is a caravan camping site beside the hotel and there seemed a high demand for the hotel services.
Most likely would not stay again as value for money poor

Got a great wee holiday break deal here €99 each for 2 night bed and breakfast and 1 dinner. It was January so the weather wasn't great but the hotel was very cosy , warm and welcoming. The staff are really friendly and I have to mention Mairead in the restaurant who served us with a smile at dinner and breakfast.. Being the only waitress on duty she worked really hard and was extremely efficient .
The included dinner was nice ,roast of the day etc. We had fish and chips in the bar on the 2nd night which was very tasty. Breakfast was buffet style and was fine except that would have preferred fried eggs to the scrambled on offer . We liked that breakfast went on until 10.30 each morning allowing us time to have a swim first as the pool opened at 8.00.
We loved the pool and spa. It's a pity though that you have to walk outside to get to the pool .There were swimming lessons on sometimes when we went to the pool but they keep a lane free for swimmers so it was fine. We loved the jacuzzi ,steam room and sauna but on our last morning the jacuzzi was out of order which was disappointing .
The room was lovely really spacious but was on ground floor with a view of the car park only. As it was mid week January the hotel wasn't busy and I thought that they would allocate all guests sea view rooms . There was good free wifi .
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return at a different time of the year. The hotel was the only place open in Rosses Point at this time of year

Hi holidayseeker. Thank you for your amazing and lengthy review of the Yeats Country Hotel Spa & Leisure Club. What a very pleasant review to help deal with such a dreary and rainy Monday. Without a doubt, our lobby area is the place to be on days like these. It is very refreshing just chilling beside our log fired lounges and treat yourself to some of our wondrous Winery Bar food with a drink while the rain lashes down in these wet months. Thankfully you got to avail of this and we are thrilled with your praise. Mairead in our restaurant is an absolute gem for us who works tirelessly, I have already passed on your compliments to her and I can assure you she could not hide her smile. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed the use of our complimentary Leisure Club facilities. It is a great opportunity to revitalize and clear your mind. Unfortunately, we do only have so many sea view rooms and we get constant requests so there are only so many that we can allocate. We are sorry that you did not get to experience this. Should you wish to return, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to get you a lovely sea view room so you can relax and look out at the beautiful Wild Atlantic Way and what Rosses Point has to offer. We look forward to hearing from you soon! Warmest regards,

Just back from a 5 night stay in This hotel. We have stayed a few times before here.
I have to say that I was quite worried to go anywhere due to the Covid problems at present but my mind was certainly put to ease upon arrival.
Every staff member wore either a mask or a face shield.
Breakfast and Dinner times were very well run.
Each table was well spaced away from the next. The dining room manager was a lovely lady who always spoke kindly to our children.
To use the pool you had to book your slot which was 45 minutes. Ample time for the kids to have fun there.
Dara, Sinead and the other Reception staff were fantastic. All staff were very courteous and gracious to us all.
The breakfast was so tasty each morning with the addition of pancakes for the children which went down very well.
We ate our dinner in the hotel 4 nights out of the 5 and it was absolutely fantastic.
The dinner meals were delicious. I could not say 1 bad word about the food.
The hotel room was Spotless, Warm and comfortable. The only thing I could ask for the hotel to add is perhaps a little fridge to the Family Rooms. It would be such a help for families who have 2 or 3 children still taking a bottle of milk.
Overall we had a brilliant stay and would recommend it for any family who wanted a nice quiet location away from amusements, bars and restaurants.

Overall it was good value for money and a pleasant stay with service a bit hit or miss.

On check in we were not advised what time breakfast was served / where it was served etc, where the leisure centre was, what time dinner was served etc. All standard stuff you expect to be told on check in. Although it was a late check in, we enquired about bar food and had been advised that they had finished for the day ( which is fine ). After literally dropping the bags to the room and going to the bar area we seen that other residents where eating pizzas and we had no issues getting to order one from the bar ( I would have expected the receptionist to advise that the bar will serve pizzas / snacks in the evening upon request particularly when we had asked about ordering food! )

Breakfast was very nice however we had to ask on both occasions for tea / coffee for the table, the toaster took forever to brown the bread but overall the breakfast was really good.

As part of the deal we had an evening meal, this was fine, nothing special but also not bad. The service at dinner however was alot better than breakfast.

The rooms were comfortable but basic. Be warned the walls are paper thin so you can hear almost everything from the rooms on either side. The room next door had their tv on late into the night which was distracting.

The pool in the leisure centre was absolutely freezing and the shower area was a bit grubby ( the showers also had very little hot water ).

Overall it was good value for money and in a lovely location but I am undecided if we would return.

Hi Patrick, Thank you for your lengthy and detailed review of the Yeats Country Hotel Spa & Leisure Club! We are sorry that you were not informed of breakfast times, amenity whereabouts etc.. I can assure you that this is standard protocol and every guest is always given this information on arrival. I work on the desk occasionally myself and would always provide this information to all guests arriving. Once again we apologize for the inconvenience. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your breakfast with us. It may have been quite busy as breakfast can be quite hectic at peak hours so perhaps the girls just might not have gotten a chance. I will pass on your comments to the restaurant and they will be happy with your feedback. I have undergone an investigation into the temperature of the water during your stay. It was at 29.5 degrees celcius and is usually at 31. We are working on getting it back to regular warmth so we issue our apologies here again. We would love to welcome you back with us again in the near future! Kindest regards,

Found the hotel coping well under current circumstances, trying to manage a lot of people requires booking systems as well as patience from and cooperation from guests. I had no complaints except I couldn't get a late check out on a Sunday as they were very busy, so understandable.
