We came the late in the evening and got a quick checkin and a room with a view over the old abbey. We had to go a long way off corridors to get to our room som you could not just drop out to get a smoke or a beer from the bar due to location off the room. But... More

Everything about my stay here was excellent,Firstly the Gothic façade that one encounters upon arrival set within the perfectly manicured grounds grabs your attention and heightens your expectation for what you'll encounter inside. You won't be dissappointed. Everthing.Everthing from the well chosen antiques to the beautifully appointed lounge is in sync with the initial promise. I booked two rooms, one a single... More

I was working in Longford, which is not famous for its hotels, so I decided to stay at the Abbey. There was a warm and friendly welcome and a comfortable room with good wifi. The gym was small but fine for the number of people using it. Good food and warm surroundings made it an enjoyable stay.

There was nothing special about our lichens at the Abbey. Sauces seem to come out of jars, vegetables had no taste. The kids menu is the usual chips and sausages etc for€7.50. I was charged extra for their vegetables. There was no gluten free desert, they did offer me ice cream and jelly.... On the good side the staff was... More

I was so looking forward to my stay in The Abbey Hotel Roscommon. I had read the hotel reviews before my break so I went with an open mind. We were given a room on the first floor in the old Manor House. I was delighted at first as it had dual aspect and one of the windows overlooked the... More

we were given a room with a broken window pane, a disabled toilet (?!), a blocked sink and the toilet smelt for want of some bleach. I reported the sink problem 2x a day (stayed 3 nights), but nothing was done. I requested some refund for this. The manager then insisted that I showed him the blocked sink first (I... More

The public areas are lovely as they have been recently renovated. Bar is lovely and food was very nice and pretty reasonable. Sam at reception is an asset to the place, friendly, efficient and full of chat! Breakfast was pretty good the next morning. The rooms are very dated but it was expected so we had no issue with it.

We stayed for one night, I would definitely stay again. The room was very comfortable and quiet even though there was a wedding reception on we never heard a thing after we retired for the night. We had dinner in the bar, which I have to say was delicious, I am a very fussy eater and am not easily pleased... More

We held my dad's 70th birthday dinner here & I must say the dinner, service, waiting staff were just excellent. This is the best meal we ever had. The starters were delicious, Chicken Vol au Vont. The main roast dinner also so tasty and the deserts lovely. The main thing here is no one has to wait, everyone served together... More
