We regularly stay in the area visiting family. We need to stay in an hotel and the Abbey is our "go to" place for a comfortable room, great Irish welcome and breakfast and a very good restaurant. The car very on a Sunday is the perfect place to have a family lunch with our grandchildren. We enjoy the leisure centre...

Once you turn into the drive way, you know you've arrived at someplace special. And the hotel doesn't disappoint in any way. Reception staff were both professional and genuinely friendly. Our room was spacious with loads of space for 3 adults to move about comfortably. The view of the Abbey, from our room, was an unexpected delight.

Took my girlfriend her for a nice romantic night away. Booked a bottle of bubbly and chocolates for the room on arrival to add something extra. We arrived and checked it with great ease and quick and efficient. Then arrived in the room to enjoy the treats before going to the Leisure facility for a nice relaxing treat. That night...

We stayed in the abbey twice now for a few nights, the hotel is a nice place to stay on the outskirts of roscommon town. The room's were nice and the food was nice. The bar is nice also but is a bit quiet anytime we went in( there is a busy sports bar across the road). The leisure centre...

Had an overnight stay here for a family wedding and for the price paid for a wedding rate, €150 for a double room in a four star hotel I was disappointed to say the least, no bottled water in the room, no stationary or biro and no body cream which is standard in all the hotels I have stayed in,...

As a frequent visitor to the Abbey Hotels restaurant last night was very disappointing. I have eaten here several times which i always found to be lovely. When myself and my family (5 of us in total) first sat down we were left waiting for 15 minutes before anyone came near us and even then I had to call someone...

Dear Sharon We are sorry that your most recent visit did not meet with our previous standards. I have passed your comments on to the relevant personnel and they will take steps to improve service in these areas. Christmas time is a very busy time and as we do not take booking in our lounge, delays of some manner inevitably...

Attended my cousins wedding here and it was brilliant. The setting with the old abbey as a backdrop is unique and magical, the staff and the food was very good. The rooms very comfortable and they were very accommodating for those of us who wished to keep the party going into the wee hours.

We went to this hotel for a night away from Dublin. Cute area, with access to local restaurants and pubs. We enjoyed our morning in the leisure centre - with plenty of offerings. Only complaint I have is to open your leisure centre later in the evenings. Otherwise, had a lovely stay with my husband. Breakfast offerings were wonderful, and...

“The older part of the hotel might not be so easy if you are disabled but the newer wing is fine, with a lift. The rooms facing the old ruined Abbey are usually quieter if there is a wedding.”
