Finally got to use a voucher we had since Christmas and looking forward too. Sadly it disappointed. Parking and check in was a breeze, was downhill from there . We had a few drinks in bar with soup which was mightily expensive. Dinner that night was a non event,we ordered a Thai curry and this was tasteless. We mentioned to manageress but to no avail and once again very very expensive. Room was poor too with tile in bathroom broken and panel on inside of door loose. Bed was very comfortable mind you. Staff were friendly and attentive in fairness. Breakfast was beautiful and fresh. Disappointed in our trip sadly and won’t return .

Service was very poor for a table of 6 our order was wrong 1 starter and 6 main courses, had to look for kids caser salad and kids soup and potato. 15min after our main was out. By the time it arrived kids had our chips ate ordered another portion never arrived. Would have always rated staff and services.. but unfortunately on this occasion staff training is a must.

Here for lunch with friends. Lunch poor and very expensive. €22.50 for Thai chicken curry at lunchtime is madness. What is going g on in this country that hotels and pubs seem to be really ripping us off. Previous week i was here also and paid €12.50 for a toasted blt sandwich that was dry and very unappetising. I dont mind paying extra for really good food but this is not. Won't return here.

Stayed here 12/2 for one night. Arrived to a busy hotel the place was really busy. Check in was quick and friendly. Lots of car parking space too. We went to the bar and ordered a light lunch the place was buzzing. The food arrived generous portions and it tasted delicious. We had a few drinks in the downstairs bar unfortunately this area needs serious work. Girl behind the bar was lovely but the place lacked serious atmosphere. We would have loved to have had a drink upstairs but it was full with ppl eating. Think this could put people off staying. Rooms were lovely and breakfast beautiful. I would have given the review 5 out of 5 but because we were stuck downstairs for drinks I had to deduct a star.

We had visited The Shirley Arms a few years ago just for drinks/food and found it a pleasant experience. This visit was for a family reunion in Carrickmacross, Our son and family having arrived from almost two years of lockdown in Melbourne Aus. We were made very welcome by the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very comfortable with all the creature comforts you might expect. Where the Shirley Arms really scores big-time is with the friendliness of the staff. Sadly our Christmas reunion was trashed by Covid 19 and we were compelled to return to London. We will return and The Shirley Arms will be our haven of choice.

I stayed at the Shirley Arms for one night only. The food, value and most of all customer service was excellent. Friendliest staff I have ever come across in a hotel. The bed was like a marshmallow and the pillows were so comfortable. I could have stayed forever...
