Rang hotel to advise of wish to visit with elderly parent, couldn't commit to an exact time due to her ailments. We were told it was busy but that braakfast was served until 10.15. We arrived at 9.45 and nothing was avaible. Tables fully booked, and more bookings to come. When I queried I was told unaware of our visit and Kitchen was fully backed up, so unable to accommodate us. I can appreciate some of the points , however I would expect most establisments to be busy for breakfast at 9.30 on a Sunday morning.I would suggest staffing accordingly. If my parent wasn't so restricted and I hadn't phoned I probably would accept this situation. This was not the case. I Feel the lack of communication and management competency is very questionable. The Establishment looked stunning. It is a real shame.

Dear 414kathf, I am very sorry you felt the need to leave us this review following your recent visit which we were unable to acommodate. Weekends are indeed always busy for breakfast in the restaurant, and we would always advise diners to make a reservation to avoid disappointment. On this occasion, unfortunately we were fully occupied at the time of your arrival, and I am sorry we could not accommodate you. I do hope you will afford us the opportunity to welcome you again. Kindest Regards, Tadhg Carolan

I stayed her with a friend on an overnight to attend a local venue, we had a great experience, very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, gorgeous food and very comfortable beds, not much else needed for a relaxing break away. We will definitely stay again, excellent value for money.

I travel a lot for both business and leisure and stay in a lot of hotels. This place is one of the best I have stayed in. The welcome (Sinead on reception) was exceptional and the staff could not have been more helpful. Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Excellent quality at a very reasonable price. I will be back. Hotel is in 2 parts we were put across the road in the old post office which booking .com lists as a separate hotel on its site. But is part of this hotel,We were surprised and disappointed about this as its only rooms, On the plus side room was clean warm and bathroom was lovely. Having to cross the road to enter the main hotel was not for us as we booked to stay in the hotel.food was OK, breakfast was small . No atmosphere in this hotel , lovely little village pub on the same side of the road of the main hotel. Only stayed here 1 night after travelling for hours.

Dear I5129BLdebbieg, thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your recent stay. The property you booked to stay was our sister property, the Old Post Office guesthouse. This is a guesthouse only and it is not advertised as a hotel on booking.com. However guests are able to use the facilities of Conyngham Arms Hotel during their stay, and breakfast is indeed served here. Thanks again for your valued feedback, I hope you will afford us the opportunity to welcome you again soon. Kindest Regards, Tadhg Carolan

Going here since 2002. What has gone so wrong in this hotel. Myself, wife and 2 kids pop in every 3 months or so and I never had a bad experience, however today was different. The restaurant manager is one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life. When shown to the table she was putting down the menus and when I went to sit down she pointed at another table and was told, you need to sit over there. So we just bit our lips from how rude she was and said nothing. We finished our meals which were not good, the fish had no flavour and the chips were dunked or recooked at least 3 times and there was way to much salt on them. I went up to pay for the meal and was being served by another girl and as she went to ring it up the restaurant manager said to her, come here you and I taught the girl was going to have a heart attack. Staff must be very afraid of her because she left me standing there. Finnaly a lad said to me can I help you and I said I'm trying to pay and the other girl was serving me. He asked is everything OK and I said that the manager was the rudest person I ever met. I was just walking out the front door when she followed me and told me that it's because they are so busy this happens, which for me there is no excuse for been so rude to customers or leave them standing there. She wanted an argument however we just walked off.

Had family lunch on St Patrick’s day. We used to go every year Pre Covid and it was always a lovely experience. We were very disappointed this year. Food was ok, chicken wings and apple pie delicious, brownies were poor and mains generally just ok. But the service let the whole thing down. Seemed to be lots of staff and the place was not that busy at 2pm, but the staff were very inexperienced and not welcoming. No sign of management. No possibility of a table for a drink after dinner. No sparkling water!! ….. We had to go to the shop to get some. Overall a bit of a damp squib and I don’t think we will be back unfortunately. Also they don’t do half potions of the Sunday roast for kids, which is a pity and €13 for kids pasta bolognese is a rip off!

This is not the level of customer experience we aim to achieve and we willl indeed take this feedback on board with a view to improving our service. While not an excuse, I do hope you can somewhat appreciate that we are currently training new staff and St. Patrick's Day was quite a busy day. I can also confirm our childrens menu is priced at €11.95 and includes two courses. Should you decide to give us another chance to show you our true hospitality, we would love to welcome you back. Visited this hotel Sunday evening....our waitress was very helpful and such a lovely hotel.starters were very nice although I was very disappointed with my salmon main course....it was a very very small piece of the tail end of salmon... maybe after a busy day not so plentiful...as I was been treated to dinner I felt I couldn't say anything....left feeling very disappointed that this was acceptable to serve as main course

I stayed at the Old Post Office which is accommodation provided by the Conyngham Arms hotel in Slane. We arrived on a wet and dreary night after a 3 hour drive and the room was just so fantastic. It was really cosy when we arrived. Check in was a breeze! We checked in with the hotel reception and crossed the road to the Old Post Office. There was plenty of street parking and also parking available in the hotel car park. The room was lovely. It was really warm and inviting. The windows had an extra glass panel to help keep the traffic noise out. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was comfy. Really lovely large shower too and plenty of hot water. The room had a lovely coffee machine but a kettle for a cup of tea would be lovely. We improvised and ran the coffee machine on water to make the tea. Breakfast was in the hotel again the following morning. We both had a fry and it was just lovely. The dining area was really nicely decorated. It is the best black pudding I've had in a hotel! Everything was freshly made. Check out was quick and easy, which was fantastic because we were travelling to a wedding. Overall, would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for one night in the family room. The rooms were interconnected with a separate main door. Feels like a mini apartment. Beautifully decorated. On arrival we were greeted by Sinead who was extremely friendly & helpful. Food at dinner & breakfast was gorgeous. We highly recommend a stay here. We will be back. thank you to the staff for making our stay enjoyable.
