Would you like the truth on this Secret Gem of a Hotel?, I used to only recommend 2 Hotels in Ireland for proper Old World Homely Charm - those being the Royal Hotel on Valentia Island Kerry & Renvyle House Hotel in Connemara. Well my recent stay at the Conyham Arms in Slane has increased that list to 3 Hotels in Ireland. This Hotel delivers a Great tasty menu, Very Courteous Professional staff, a thick slice of the past remains within the building, yet it has all the expected services, is exceptionally Clean, comfortable spacious rooms, has wonderful gardens to the rear for outdoor dining. I was not paid to give this review, the venue simply impressed me that much. Donna the manageress is very pleasant, very good at her job, and we shall be returning & recommending the Venue to others. The Hotel also has a somewhat seperate Library, which can cater for private groups at one table of 12-14. Go see for yourself, I'll not be found guilty of exaggeration on any of my statements. My photos are too large to load, go see the place and take your own, a memorable stay.

Travelling through Slane we stopped off here for lunch. From the moment we stepped into the outside garden area we were met by very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough. We were asked if the table offered was okay (we assumed we were asked as it was beside children) or if we’d like one further away. We were also asked about the volume of the music playing in the background (which was perfect!). Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Lovely outdoor eating area, heaters would be a plus but all in all highly recommend

Let me start off with the welcome the lady at the door was very very unfriendly. We arrived to a "How can I help you sternly at the front entrance?!" Instead of welcome to Conyngham Hotel. We checked in and was aware that there was a wedding being held so when we asked for dinner service later we were told they don't have space to accommodate us. What hotel books rooms with restaurant and dinner facilities and then aren't able to accommodate their guests that have booked an evening stay!? We had to drive all the way out to Drogheda to get a meal for dinner!. The breakfast was okay, the staff in the restaurant made up for the lack of service from the front desk a bit. The ladies were very friendly and helpful. I'd sooner look for a B&B closer to Slane if I'm ever around that area again. For the cost of the rooms I expected much better customer service, the restaurant bar was unmanned and we couldn't even linger for a drink we had to find somewhere else. It's a shame because they have an outside area which was unmanned on the evening and a fully stocked bar area..also unmanned. I suppose the wedding took up all their resources(probably overbooked numbers) and they couldn't cater for their other booked guests. Shocking!! This was a planned break away from the kids and we made the best of the night with other locations that evening but our experience at the hotel almost ruined our evening. Will not be returning.

Dear Shaun, I am very disappointed to read that your stay with us was not as it should be. From speaking to our our reception team, I believe you were offered a table for dinner at 6:45pm but had decided to dine in drogheda. However, I do fully understand your grievances and can assure you we will be discussing these topics at our next team meeting to ensure they do not happen again. Thank you for your feedback. Kindest Regards, Tadhg Carolan

The Conynham Arms Hotel hosted our wedding 12/06/2021 with 25 guests and everyone was blown away. Tracie and Tadhg went above and beyond along with all their staff, everything was taken care of, the food was amazing and they were so attentive. They made planning a wedding so easy (during a pandemic via zoom, I know right!) We were blessed with nice weather and had our ceremony in the private garden which was so beautiful, we had our pictures taken in the gardens too, along with our drinks reception/canapés. The children had such a fun time playing in the garden too. We were unfortunately not able to do a tasting menu with the hotel which wasn’t ideal but I had nothing to be concerned about, the food was absolutely delicious! All of the waiting staff were so approachable and the service was 10/10! The accommodation was excellent too, great value and the rooms are all unique and beautiful! Honestly if you are looking for a wedding venue, go and visit this place. I would do it all over again tomorrow. Thanks again Tracie, Tadhg & the entire Conyngham Arms Team!
