Detailed Reviews
Stayed in Castleview House B & B with my husband and daughter in a family room, during the recent National Cross Country C’Ships at Navan.
I cannot say enough regarding Marie, Gerry and their wonderful home. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding, best places to eat,(big shout out to Inside Out Restaurant in Slane, fabulous!!) how to get to certain areas, and were very giving of their time to help!
Family ensuite room gave us ample of space, and it was airy, bright, spotless, warm, and beds were extremely comfy. We all had a quite perfects night’s sleep.
Plenty parking onsite, very close to town and perfect location to base and explore Meath. Breakfast was delicious and Marie & Gerry ensured that everyone’s requirements were met and more!
Our trip was too quick, but perfect. Thank you to Marie & Gerry, who went above and beyond to ensure all was just right. We will be back, but until then, thank you!

We stayed here while visiting the Slane, County Meath area. Marie and her husband Gerry were fantastic and treated us like family. Beds were very comfortable, the breakfast provided was more than good and if you needed something all you had to do was speak up. Unfortunately, they will be discontinuing the BNB and it will be a loss to the area and to those who are looking for a great stay.

I knew the minute that we were greeted at the door that we were going to have an entertaining stay at this comfy B&B. The host and hostess are a delight and quite eager to please their guests.
We stayed in a room towards the back of the house as our stay was during the heat wave of the summer and the hostess was concerned we'd be too warm. With windows open, we had no issues at all with the night temperature.
I picked this place because it was within walking distance of a local restaurant. Unfortunately, none of the restaurants in Slane were serving dinner on Monday or Tuesday during the week. Also, the castle was open only on the weekend, so we were not able to tour that either.
But the village is within easy access of many local sites, and we were actually able to walk to the top of the Hill of Slane, leaving our car in the B&B parking lot. The walk takes one right past the "Mansions" that are mentioned in a description of the village. And there was a visitor center that we passed along the way.
The room was a comfortable size, with a large armoire for our clothes, and a vanity with a hair dryer. The bathroom was large, with a stand in electric shower in the corner. The towels were fluffy and included washcloths. Shampoo and body wash was included. The bed featured a top sheet under the duvet.
There was a tea tray included in the room. Private parking is behind the house, and there is a small, peaceful garden where one can sit and relax. A hot, cooked breakfast was made to order each morning.
Just to clarify, even though the name says Castleview, there is no view of the castle. But, believe me, you won't even miss it!

We stayed at the B & B for a family wedding. It’s lovely, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Our rooms were perfect. Marie and Gerry are fantastic hosts, so helpful and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. They sorted taxi bookings and Gerry gave us a lift to the wedding venue. We were treated like house guests rather than just customers. The Irish breakfast was delicious. All grilled quality food and Marie even catered specially for one of our party who is vegan. We had homemade soda bread and porridge bread - made specially for us. Marie gave me the recipe so I can make some at home. If you ever visit Slane, I can’t recommend it enough. If we visit again (and we hope we will) this will be a must for us.
Thank you so much Marie and Gerry.

Marie and Jerry could not have been any kinder. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was wonderful. Marie's garden provides a gorgeous backdrop to breakfast. Hosts were super friendly and helpful, making recommendations and providing directions. This location was walkable to everything and everywhere we went. Perfect stay!

Fabulous guest house. We were badly let down by our booked accommodation, but Gerry and Marie offered us a room at extremely short notice. Room was immaculate with a hight standard of facilities. Breakfast was outstanding... Very generous portions. Gerry and Marie are superb hosts. Thoroughly recommend.

Hosted by one of the most charming and delightfully friendly hosts. The breakfast was generous and rooms were clean and in good order. Situated walking distance from some local, lively pubs. I highly recommend this place to stay in historic County Meath.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Castleview and can't wait to return.
From the moment you arrive until you leave the hospitality from Marie and Gerry is outstanding.
They take the time to find out what you want from the B+B with regards to timings etc. for breakfast to what you want to gain from your stay in Slane. They have an enormous amount of information on the local and not so local areas.
It was Michael's birthday whilst we were staying there and Marie and Gerry even got him a wee present and a card ...
The rooms are very comfortable, clean and tidy with a modern bathroom - the room was cleaned and the towels were changed on a daily basis. There is a TV in each in room, tea and coffee making facilities, bottle of water ( for the dry mouth after a pint or 3 of the black stuff) and free Wi-Fi is available.
The dining room is comfortable and the choice for breakfast very good- fresh fruit , cereals and the full Irish breakfast with unlimited tea or coffee.
The location in the village is good only a few minutes walk from either Slane castle or the centre of the village with a couple of good restaurants and pubs.
We would definitely recommend this B+B and we are already booking for August.
