We had an autistic child with us who was unsettled as he seen the balloon decorations in the premises, he obviously wanted to try get them. We were trying to get him relaxed and we were approached by a male member of staff and asked if we would like some drinks. That was ok until I ordered my drink and he walked away from the rest of the people at the table without asking if they would like anything. My partner tried to ask for something but the waiter proceeded to walk away, maybe he didn’t hear/understand but still he never asked the other members of the table. At this stage a blonde waitress returned and asked if we were ready to order which we weren’t as the child was still very unsettled and kept trying to stand on the chair so we asked for a few more minutes. In the mean time the child then proceeded to get off the couch and try walk to them balloons, I am currently 7 months pregnant myself so I could not lift the child, so the child’s mother went out after him but the blonde waitress returned and done nothing but stare and throw looks at the child along with the man behind the carvery. In fairness they probably thought the child was just acting up but my partner apologized to her and tried to explain he was autistic and didn’t understand. The waitress probably didn’t understand herself as to be very honest she wasn’t listening. It was not a nice situation to be in and I wasn’t happy the way it was handled by staff with the dirty looks. The mother and the child had to go out and sit in the car while we proceeded to eat. The food was nice, but my partner wanted a carvery which he ordered off the waitress. But he seen the carvery chef standing there so he just asked if he had to go up or if it was going to be served to him as he was unsure. The chef said “whatever you want to do” and shrugged his shoulders, so he went up and the chefs mask was on his chin for the duration of us being there which I didn’t think was nice considering he was serving the food. He was the rudest member of staff I came across there was no common curtesy of “your welcome, enjoy your meal etc” I did try to see if there was a manager available but I was just so annoyed the way we were treated today and it spoiled the day. Seems to be lacking in customer service as I’m in the industry myself and I know if I acted like that towards any of my customers I would loose potential business. I would never complain as I know how hard working with the public can be but I believe we were treated very poorly and I believe my opinion needed to be shared. I definitely wouldn’t return in a hurry which is a pity as the food is nice. Just feel the staff could be more trained in customer service and recognize the signs of an autistic child. It’s hard enough without people staring and judging

I checked in here over the weekend and the word disgusting is an understatement!! On arrival the place looked ok and the lady who checked us in was pleasant. When we got to the room I was instantly disappointed. The smell that met us at the door was bad and stale. The headboard was loose and peeling. The bed itself was rotten. Brown pillows covered in drool stains and sheets with tan on. Also the duvet and matress were stained. If this wasn't bad enough, the owners attitude was even worse. When told that we weren't happy with our rooms he simply said to go elsewhere. No apology given at all. We had to rush away to a wedding and the owner said beds would be changed. We then decided to check out as it was that bad!! I wouldn't sleep on a bed like that at home let alone pay to sleep on one!!. This caused much unnecessary stress to a group of us who then had to repack and leave a wedding and find last minute accommodation elsewhere. When we returned to collect our stuff, the owner still did not apologise and whilst I was packing my things I heard him in my mothers room, simply telling her she was wrong and that he was right and speaking in a very intimidating manner. I will NEVER return to this place and would strongly encourage others to stay away too!! This place needs to be revamped, CLEANED, and some serious training in customer relations as the owner was simply horrible!

We made an overnight stop here after arriving on the ferry from Dublin. The rooms are large and clean but not luxurious. The prices however are very good - approx 50 euros for a double room, including an Irish breakfast. The rooms are in a block next to a large pub/restaurant where the food is above average pub fare but the portions are enormous!

I stayed here for a single night at the end of April. The lady who checked me in and showed me to my room was thoroughly polite and charming despite the bar and restaurant being fairly busy at the time. The room was large with a very comforable double bed. The bathroom was also large and had only a shower cubicle rather than a bath. The room the was very clean and furnished with wooden drawers and wardrobes. The decor and finish of the room wasn't of the highest quality but this didn't prevent a solid and comfortable sleep. It is a great location just to the south of Navan and gives easy access to the town and the surrounding area.

Had our daughters Holy Communion Party here at the weekend. We had 36 people and everyone really enjoyed the day. Food was top class, Service excellent. The room was a perfect size and there was an outdoor safe area for the kids to play in. Enda is very relaxed and welcoming and the staff were wonderful. Will be back in 4 years time for the Confirmation hopefully! Thanks for everything.

We were decorating the newly refurbished restaurant for my friends fathers 70th last Saturday (9th). Afterwards we went to the front bar to order food. The place was busy and the smell from the carvery was fab. We knew we'd be eating that night at the party and so we inquired about a platter for three. The waitress (Bernie I think) was most accommodating and went to ask the chef if he could do it. They could and the platter consisted of Chicken wings, cocktail sausages, spring rolls and a side offer of chips. My son with special needs ordered soup and two rolls. Again Bernie was lovely in giving milk to cool his soup without me even having to ask, she also gave him a plate for to share our platter. The food was hot and tasty. Reasonable priced too, the platter was €15. So lunch for a €5 was great. Then, that takes us to the night food, at the party. I opted for the beef curry with chips and rice. The only complaint I have was that the beef pieces were very scarce. A few I knew had the Chicken a-la-king and they too remarked that there wasn't much chicken in their portions. Cutting costs perhaps, I don't know, but the curry itself was delicious. The rice was also lovely as were the chips. I usually drink coors light but couldn't on this occasion, it was awful from the taps. Again a few commented the same thing. I opted for Budweiser and it was better.
