Bellinter House is a magnificent example of an 18th Century Country House in Palladian style. Designed by renowned architect Richard Cassels, it stands majestically on the banks of the River Boyne in the rolling landscape of County Meath. There are 12 acres of grounds to explore, with sweeping lawns and ancient trees. All 35 uniquely-styled bedrooms feature extra-large beds, goose feather pillows, soft white linen, luxury toiletries, flat-screen televisions and complimentary WiFi as standard, plus complimentary use of the steam room, sauna & outdoor hot tub. The vaulted cellar is home to Eden Restaurant - proud recipient of the 2AA Rosette Award. The Drawing Room & Bar are the main focal points of the house, where guests can dine in front of a roaring fire from the bar food menu. The front reception rooms - the Library and the Games Room - are free for guests to enjoy. The Bathhouse Spa is so-called for its signature Seaweed Baths, and has 7 treatment rooms for complete relaxation.

This was I think my 7th or 8th visit to Bellinter but our last visit was about 6 years ago. It's still a nice place to spend a night but I was sad to see a lot of the little touches that characterised our previous visits were missing. E.g. no fresh coffee or selection of teas in the room (just instant coffee and Barry's tea), no tunnocks tea cakes either. The Voya products are not provided in the rooms anymore. There was no music in the spa or treatment rooms (it started halfway through our treatments). No magazines in the relaxation room. The hot tub has started to fall apart and the water was very cloudy even before the bubbles were turned on. We had a nice stay but I really hope these little touches that made Bellinter stand out are reinstated before our next visit.

We stayed here for our friends wedding. It’s amazing that you can have entire place to yourself that ensures good atmosphere and safety.
The hotel is kept in a shabby chic, country vibes with a twist style. Each room small or big is different with its own character, monkeys as lamps, animals on portraits etc. If you’re looking for shiny surfaces, marble and sterile and soulless decor this is definitely not for you. We stayed in one of the stables room. It’s was warm and cosy and bed was very comfortable.
The spa is available to all guests and some treatments are complimentary. And you can also request a “bath butler” to your room to prepare an amazing bath experience. There are also Rituals toiletries in every room that smell really really good.
The food was very good and portions were generous. The breakfast sausages were best we had since superquinn closed down. The steak was delicious and tender and cooked to medium rare which I was really surprised as they had to cook and serve 100 portions at the same time so I was really impressed that none was over cooked. Well done to the chef!
The staff was friendly and helpful, we really felt that health and safety restrictions are taken seriously.
Definitely would recommend for anyone looking for a place to party or just for a stay.
Thanks for having us!

Myself and a friend visited Bellinter house for the relax and revive package.

The afternoon tea was lovely, food was tasty and plentiful. The room we had tea in was close to the reception area. We found it a little uncomfortable and awkward having to listen to the reception desk phone calls and customers checking in and out. I suggest a little background music in the afternoon tea room would be a good idea.
The Spa treatment was very good, my therapist was excellent. There was a lot of drilling noise near the end of the massage which unfortunately took away from the overall experience. I would suggest maintenance within the bathhouse area is not carried out while treatments are going ahead.

Overall we thought Bellinter house was a really nice place but could do with some small improvements.
We would return.

Myself & my partner went to a wedding showcase on Jan 4th 2020 and were shown around by a wedding coordinator. We fell in love with the place as we were shown around, we sat down with the coordinator gave all the details regarding our wedding.
We explained that we wanted to get married in August 2021 and it would be on a Friday with 100 guests, we were told that normally its a minimum of 120 guests on a Fri, Sat & Sun (despite the brochure we were sent on December 16th 2019 saying that on a Friday and bank holiday Sunday that minimum was 100ppl) but we could have 100 guests on the Friday but would possibly be slightly more expensive but they would tailor to what we were looking for.
We were told that prices were going up but only by 5 euro so a 5 course meal would be 100 pp and I enquired about room prices and was told that they were €160.00 pp.
We were happy with what was discussed and were told that somebody would get back to us with the total cost tailored to us.
Nine days later I still hadn't heard anything, so I phoned and was told that somebody would email us with prices, I received an email with a generic price list it was not tailored to us in anyway and the prices were a lot more expensive than what we were told. It was costing 120pp and rooms were 199.00.
I phoned the wedding team and explained what we had discussed with the wedding coordinator and I was told that they would call me back, 2 days later I receive an email saying basically these are the prices and thats it.
I phoned the manager to explain and I told her that we were very disappointed as we had the deposit ready to book going by the information we were given at the wedding showcase and that these new prices were above our budget.
She said they would not have 100ppl on a Friday that it has to be 120 despite me being told otherwise to my face and in the brochure that Bellinter House themselves sent to me.
They said they would not accommodate us and I was basically fobbed off.

Extremely disappointed by this!!

We booked two nights B & B at Bellinter House. We booked one of the bedrooms in the main house.
Negative stuff: triple wardrobe but only two coat hangers, no tissues, rodent repellent plugs in bedrooms, crude electrics including a wooden box with extra sockets, steep steps to entrance and stairs to first floor but no help with suitcases, eating from bar menu seated on sofas at a coffee table in the Drawing Room despite having a confirmed booking in the Eden Restaurant, other guests not wearing masks, noise from a private function, unruly children, noise and piano bashing well after midnight.
Positives: pleasant if ineffective staff, good food in the Restaurant on the second evening, beautiful location, comfortable beds and decent linens and towels.
I am giving three stars rather than two purely because of the quality of the food. The chef outperforms the rest of the hotel operation. However the dining experience is diminished by butter in small packets and poor quality jam/marmalade etc. No knife is provided for the side plates at breakfast.
Our first evening/night was a complete debacle, which was recognised by Sean. We were given a bottle of wine at dinner on the second evening but this was scant compensation for the first evening. We were paying a room rate of more than €250 per night but service and facilities were inadequate.
The hotel could be terrific if a few relatively simple adjustments were made-rooms properly prepared, effective rodent control, hooks on bathroom doors, assistance for guests carrying heavy bags, proper enforcement of house rules.

We stayed here for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct and absolutely loved it.

We booked a room in the Ruins and it was gorgeous. So different from your run of the mill hotel room and so large and spacious with high ceilings and exposed wooden beams. The room was toasty warm and cosy and I loved the colour scheme.

We booked the Deluxe Facial and the Voyager Massage with the Spa and they were both fantastic. Stacey in the Spa was so friendly and professional and my facial was one of the best treatments I've ever had - it was a mix of a massage and facial so I got the best of both worlds. My only feedback to the Spa would be that we found the Relaxation room to be very bright and open. The view was beautiful but perhaps maybe darkening the room a bit and separating each lounger with hanging veils or something similar, would help add some more privacy and relaxation. It was only the two of us in there after our treatments but I can imagine if there was another couple in there, we might've felt a bit awkward/exposed.

We loved the outdoor hot tub and because we had booked a midweek break, the hotel was very quiet and we had the hot tub to ourselves every time we went out to use it.

The food was lovely and the Drawing Room is very impressive. I personally didn't really like setting of the Eden Restaurant, as it's in the cellar of the hotel and I found it to be a bit dark and lacking in atmosphere - but that's my personal taste. I much preferred the drawing room with the big windows and fireplaces. Special thanks to the older lady with blonde hair and glasses who served us breakfast on both mornings and lunch as well. I'm sorry I didn't catch her name but there was a mix up with my club sandwich and she was so nice and helpful.

Bellinter House is beautifully decorated but still retains the character of the original old house - I'd say it's fabulous at Christmas with Christmas trees around the place and all the fireplaces lit. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Myself and a friend went to bellinter house yesterday for a spa package and dinner afterwards. The spa was very enjoyable, it was lovely and peaceful with very friendly and courteous staff. I thoroughly enjoyed using the outdoor hot tub which the receptionist informed us has been upgraded recently. My treatments with Stacey were superb- she was a fantastic therapist, extremely friendly and just very pleasant overall. I would suggest that there be some music playing in the relaxation room in future but everything else here was top notch.

We then had dinner in the main hotel afterwards which was also very good. Lovely furnishings in the drawing room and lovey stylish sofas- unfortunately the black sofa in the corner was dirty with food debris and hair but otherwise it was lovely.

Both the main hotel and the spa were very quiet on the day, I assumed we were some of the first visitors after Covid restrictions had been lifted. Overall we had a wonderful day in Bellinter and I’m looking forward to going again.

The lights in the room were not working properly: of 4 panels only one worked and only for bathroom lights, all other lights were flickering and not usable. The drain in the shower was blocked and the tray filled up to the brim after about 2 minutes. The shower head was half blocked with limescale.
Was also disappointing that there was an extra change for the robes for the use of “complimentary “ spa facilities! Sure considering the price of the night’s stay and the claim of “complimentary” facilities the host could be not cheapskates and provide the robes. Was very disappointed, as during my first stay in Bellinter House in the same rate room these were provided.
Check in was slow and the staff at the reception were unfriendly.
This, unfortunately, was a stark difference compared to my visit in April 2022, when the room, service and attitude of staff were superb, hence I was looking forward to coming back.
Not so convinced after this trip.
P.S. luckily the bed was super comfortable (in fact, one of the best hotel beds), otherwise I would have nothing positive to say about this particular stay.

The overall experience was underwhelming . No help lugging bags up steep steps both inside and out . A very uncomfortable meal having to eat if our knees in bar . Guests not observing. Covid protocol and staff appearing to do nothing about it . No hangers in one room , flagged it up to them on arrival and eventually got them after dinner on second and final night of stay !
Having to get up after midnight to ask people to stop playing piano in hallway under our bedrooms .
No side plates at breakfast ,the cheapest poor quality jam .
We raised the issues with duty manager who gave us a bottle of wine but considering the rooms were £250 a night it wasn’t really more than a gesture .
The manager appears not to be present physically in the hotel all that much ,and the lack of management showed . Would not be encouraging anyone to go here !

Bellinter House was brilliant from start to finish. Lovely cosy and cool room with unusual decor. The toiletries supplied were gorgeous and Irish made.
The food in the restaurant was great. We were given great recommendations by our waiter Richie who needs a special shout out for being so attentive and for recommending lots of alcohol free options in the bar.
The drawing room was beautiful and we spent many hours by the fire reading books without feeling pressurised to continuously buy drinks.
We will definitely be back.
The staff all work to create a warm and welcoming stay.
