Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staff where very sweet and helpful. bed was comfortable and clean. Young receptionist with black hair tied back worked the evening of the 6th august was an angel. Give her a raise . So that’s all the positive Had to change rooms as first room stank of smoke Second room was better but extremely outdated It was like a pine 90s time-warp. The tv wasn’t connected to any network so was basically useless. The bathroom was a bit gross The shower head was eroding away and the mirror was something you would see in a car booth sale for a fiver. There was a senior member of staff lady black hair in a ponytail gave the most confrontational energy I watched her deal with a customer and even I felt uncomfortable watching it. I paid around €180 with late check out as it was the nearest hotel to a wedding I was going to the next day And it was the joke of the day how bad the hotel was as a few of us stayed the night before. Honestly it’s extremely over priced Stay here only if your REALLLLY stuck

I stayed in room 506 from 4-7th July and then had to leave my group tour early because of illness. I left behind a ‘stuff bag’ of undies and silk scarves in my room. No one thought to tell tour manager . I emailed 3x , no reply , I phoned two numbers 3x ‘calls not accepted from your number ‘. I messaged three times, automatic replies to try above. Eventually via messenger told to ask tour company to contact them. Success, phone call from lovely Michelle. She would post parcel next day and call me back for card details to reimburse hotel. No call or parcel. Tour company called again; had been posted but no charge to me. Hasn’t arrived. So disappointed.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my 2 kids. Website was very misleading.. the staff were lovely and helpful but the rooms were outdated and quite dirty.. mould in the bathroom, dusty and grubby looking carpets. We were on the 3rd floor and the window in our room was practically off the hinges, got moved to another room a few rooms down. These rooms were extremely noisy, from people leaving bars in the street, traffic, bin lorries and the church across the street having the bells constantly chim throughout the night it was a poor nights sleep for us all.. the carpark was awful.. so small and difficult to manoeuvre a car around. Breakfast wasn't bad.. the kids enjoyed the pancake machine and again staff were lovely.. location for the likes of tayto park was good which is why we booked but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this hotel and won't return.

We stayed overnight in The Newgrange Hotel on 25th July. Check in was relatively easy, the receptionist was very pleasant. We were in room 506. Like other people say the decor is very dated, but the comfort of the beds make up for this ( who sits in the room anyway). We had a fantastic meal in the bar The staff were really professional and extremely friendly. Even made time to talk to my Granddaughter. I will definitely come back and stay Newgrange Hotel. But next Time I will make sure I’m really hungry. Huge portions. Only one downside the hairdryer in the room wasn’t working I phoned down for one and I would probably still be waiting for it if I was still there. But I won’t let it put me off. Hopefully see you all again soon.

We stayed here on Sat 23rd July having spent the previous 2 nights at sister hotel The Ardboyne Hotel. We were charged €149 for our stay which in our opinion was a 4* price for a 1* offering. Rooms are so outdated. Television offering in this day and age very limited. Windows dirty and one screwed shut. Facing onto main street on 3rd floor we encountered noise from street level and from music coming from bar. Not to mention the church clock constantly chiming out. Room decor very old and bland. Electrics outdated ( no USB charging points). Fire escape details not on door as would be expected but in drawer. Bathroom dirty. Mould on ceiling and around bath. Shower control hanging out of wall. Constant noise from other guests coming and going and door slamming. No " Do not disturb " sign in room. Tea / Coffee facilities in room very limited. Check in was not a pleasant experience. Other than asked for name and how I was going to pay . Breakfast next morning disgusting. Swimming in grease . Smallest breakfast plate I've ever seen. Asked for toast and told staff gone for bread !!!!!! Really. Greeted by grumpiest member of staff I've ever encountered. Tea from Urn no teapots. Cutlery water stained. Table sticky. Paper serviette. Had to ask twice for toast. Had to ask for milk. Had lingering greasy aftertaste in mouth all day. Overall breakfast was a 1* experience given what guests are being asked to pay. Will not be back.

The staff in this hotel makes me give it 4/5. They were so helpful and friendly throughout our stay. In particular a blonde waitress in the bar who couldnt have done enough when serving us. The room was clean. Beds were comfy. The breakfast was good. Location is great. Plenty parking in an underground. HOWEVER... The rooms would need serious modernisation. In fact, pain had cracked off the wall in our room. A lick of paint would go a long way even on the room's furniture.

Hotel was disgusting. Room was old and dirty, smell inside was horrible. Bathroom filthy old, everything was falling apart there was no towels. My little one couldnt sleep all night because of music in the hotel until 2 am and noises from outside. Staff was unhelpful and unfriendly. Manager was a joke, they charge us 165 for the room. Hotel should be shut down. They keep deleting my reviews. They are a joke. Never book any room with them. Breakfast was disgusting I got sick after eating there.
