Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ma Dwyer's is right in the heart of many historical sites in Ireland including Newgrange, Knowth, Hill of Tara, Monasterboise Monastery and high crosses, Old Mellifont Abbey, and Trim Castle. The facility is clean and comfortable as is the bed. The room also has a wonderful shower with plenty of pressure and hot water. Our room plan included breakfast that included delicious omelettes. Ma Dwyer's is approximately 30 minutes from Dublin airport and about 45 minutes from Dublin itself.

We booked in September 2022 for a one night stay at Ma Dwyer's for a wedding in mid February. Less than three weeks before our visit we were emailed and told our booking was being cancelled due to "a group booking". The same has happened to two other couples that had also booked for the same wedding. We are now significantly our of pocket because we have had to book new accommodation at very short notice. This venue has decided to cancel several small and short bookings so as to take a group booking even though we all had confirmed bookings. Appalling behaviour. Avoid booking here as it will not be guaranteed that your booking will be held.

We needed a place to stay in Navan for a family function. The price at Ma Dwyers and the reviews made us book. We were not disappointed. We paid €234 for 3, 2 nights, including breakfast. Ma Dwyers is clean, comfortable, and quiet. Our bed was firm and I was worried because I prefer a softer mattress but we all slept well. The blankets were very soft and comfy. Breakfast was a lovely surprise with some of the most beautiful eggs I've ever seen on a plate. I had a huge omlette day 1, this morning eggs and rashers, also very delicious. Another hugely appreciated treat was the delicious coffee, both days. Let's face it, plenty of establishments serve a nice breakfast but coffee can definitely be a scary experience. So I have to give a shout out for the lovely coffee at Ma Dwyers. Should we ever be in the area again, it would be a no brainer where we would stay. I'd never been to Navan before and it was quite lovely. Finally, to Chad, Mauruuru koe! 😁

I have just returned from Ireland yesterday as part of a group of 9 racegoers staying here for 2 nights whilst we attended Navan races. I am absolutely delighted with what we got for our money. The staff couldn't do enough to accommodate us, the breakfast was out of this world (staff were happy to agree to various requests at breakfast) and the rooms were spot on. A nice powerful shower and a warm comfortable bed, I did find the room got quite cold through the night but the big duvet ensured this wasn't an issue. There's a small smoking shelter across the car park for guests who wish to do so somewhere not intrusive to the non smokers. Located just a few minutes down the road from the centre of Navan we managed to pick a fairly nice weekend in terms of the weather and enjoyed a nice walk alongside the river on the way. Although we didn't have a car, it's worth noting there's a decent size car park and also a bus stop right outside the hotel if required. We are absolutely certain to be staying here again when attending the races at Navan, Fairyhouse and any others that are close enough. I didn't catch the staffs names but they were all superb hosts and gave us a very good first impression of Ireland. One of my favourite trips in a long time and Ma Dwyers were a massive contributing factor to this.

Lovely place. Staff all very nice. Rooms were nice and had everything we needed. The only thing I would say is, it was a little cold. Beds comfy and shower perfect. The breakfast was gorgeous. Thank you!

Having stayed here previously and gave great reviews I was very disappointed in this visit. My room was very basic and not very clean with a lot of cobwebs on the back of the door and black mould in the shower. This guesthouse is more deserving of a 2 star rating and I would not be recommending it to others. The only redeeming feature is the breakfast was good.

The location was great. The facilities were nice. However, the windows and doors were always left open so flies were everywhere. I killed over a dozen in my bedroom. The rooms need some type fan to circulate the air and the windows could then be closed.

We stayed here to visit Tayto Park. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this spot. The Staff are amazing. The rooms are clean and the location is perfect. Thank you for going over and above the call of duty. My son loves Nutella and toast, they didn't have any Nutella. But, they produced the most lovely hot chocolate and mallows at breakfast. Day made!!!!! Thank you. We will return. ❤️
