Reading previous reviews I knew that I must book this BB for my family stay at the end of July.
John is a great host and never bothered about anything.
The family room was a great size. We loved two king size beds and a powerful shower with a great water pressure in the bathroom.
The room was clean and beautifully decorated. We all slept very well (pillows were so comfy so as the mattress) even though we had a room allocated to the main street.
We enjoyed a cooked to order breakfast and John's hospitality.
Thank you so much for making our stay enjoyable.
Wishing you plenty of customers in these uncertain times.

This is a great accommodation in a quiet village. Parking is possible in front of the door and is also free. We had a spacious and clean bedroom with nice beds! Breakfast was very good and the total price was fine Not even 100 euros incl. Breakfast. Recommended though!

I stayed here at the weekend with two friends and I could not recommend Enough!!!!!! John greeted us on arrival and offered to help with our bags. He then brought us to our room which was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with everything you could need available.

John made sure we were looked after for the duration of our stay and was always on hand to give some advice or information about the area, and even booked us a taxi when we asked for a recommendation.

The breakfast both mornings was like something your mother would serve up!!! It was absolutely delicious.
We also could not get over the value!!!! A very reasonable price for an above average experience!!

This is an absolute gem of a spot and the only place to consider in Newport in my opinion! We are already planning our next trip.

Thanks to John and all the team for a wonderful stay.

John welcomed us when we checked in at the bar. Our rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast included in our package was delicious (eggs, beans, potato boxty, spinach, tomato). Staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed stopping in at the bar for a pint, observing the crowd, and chatting with the bar tender - sometimes John himself. The location is right on the main street through Newport.

The place looked the same as it was two yrs ago both inside and out but you cannot improve on perfection. As ever John was a great host and all the amenities were in place. The staff are most obliging and as soon as you walk in you feel at home. A delightfully clean bar served with a smile to all. Keep up the good work.

We were supposed to stay in Achill Island but it was full & decided to try Newport. Upon our arrival, John the host, welcomed us at the entrance & helped with our bags to our room. We stayed for 5days. John is very informative of Newport area, giving us tips of where to go. He cooks a mean Boxty brekkie! Try it, you'll know what I mean. Comfy beds & great power shower after a long mountain hike. The only downside is the walls in the room is quite thin, I could hear the next door person snoring as I am a light sleeper. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, will definitely return to stay here.

Welcomed by our genial host and shown to a beautiful room, tidy clean and homely. Due to COVID we had to drink outside but it was covered and homely. Our host was very helpful and gave us great advice on things to do. Breakfast was included in our deal and it was exceptional, lashings of tea and toast included and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this to couples and families and intend to return
In the summer when more things are open. Well done John and staff for giving us a great weekend.

John and his staff are the definition of Proper Irish Hospitality. They treated me like I was someone they had known for years, and were always forthcoming will good chats, help and advice on the local area. Great place for a pint, possibly one of the best pints in Ireland. Interesting locals too! The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and for the price, I honestly doubt you could do better anywhere along the West of Ireland, considering there was breakfast included. All the best John and we'll catch you again, either there or down our way!

I visited Brannens last week for a two day stay. The rooms were clean and well maintained as was the en-suite bathroom and shower. The bed was very comfortable with the bedding crisp and clean. The room had TV and tea making facilities also.

The B&B has its own street entrance, which is great, so its more like a small hotel than a B&B.

The breakfast was superb. I had the Full Irish on both mornings but there was a great choice on offer on the menu.

The owner, John Chambers, is a lovely man. Very friendly and welcoming and helpful as were his room staff and those behind the bar. The bar is a locals bar and the atmosphere is welcoming so if you stay be sure to have a pint or two there,

Good service and friendly helpful staff are the benchmarks of a good place to stay and Brannens passes this test with flying colours. Room rate was excellent too.

I'll visit again no problem.

Booked last minute and so happy with the accommodation. The host was super welcoming and gave us some great suggestions for dinner places. The room was spacious and clean and super quiet. There was plenty of options for breakfast and the breakfast area was lovely. Parking was simple on the road out front. Would definitely suggest it if you're passing through Westport or Newport.
