Detailed Reviews
I stayed here for 1 night with my son. Firstly, the car park is enclosed with an automatic gate, which is a definite plus as it provides added safety. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, which was handy as we had to change rooms. We were given room 217, which was fine except that the window openers had no handles and were not sitting in the window properly and permanently open. We were given room 216 which was better but I presume the windows are single glaze as the noise from outside did not seem lessened in any way. The curtains have so many additional rings on the pole that they cannot close over tightly. The beds were comfy and warm and the televisions are modern and my son had great enjoyment watching YouTube via the TV. Breakfast was lovely and a real highlight.
Overall £77 is not much for bed and breakfast for 2, with some investment the hotel has the potential to be really nice. Unfortunately there is no lift either.

Fantastic location of a hotel. Room sizes very generous. Good selection of food on the menu. Great value for money.Very friendly staff but training would help them.
Not enough staff, the receptionist has to cover desk, bar, restaurant. Telephone and desk remain unmanned alot of the time. Breakfast was lovely. Evening meal wasnt great. Heineken was undrinkable.
Decor and cleanliness downstairs was very good. Bedrooms could do with a freshen up- carpets and curtains especially.
Rooms were lovely and warm.
No staff in the leisure centre alot of the time.
Overall, an onsite manager would greatly help this hotel and going back to basics like a person on reception to answer the phone would help alot and an improvement to the evening food.
Francis Brennan would gladly call to visit.

Sorry think this hotel is one overpriced and two very tired and some of their staff could do with learning how to respect their guests .
Phoned up and agreed £110 on the phone yet they charged me £116 they also offer you the option to pay by card in either € or £s but don’t tell you it’s more expensive to pay in £s .
Our room was big enough but the room was very tired dated old looking .
The lady who served our breakfast seemed totally put out that we went down for breakfast and offered 1 of everything when I asked for 2 Eggs she said well I’m not supposed to but I will despite my girlfriend being a vegetarian and not wanting the cooked breakfast option .
We heard someone complaining to the bar man too .
One bonus is the on-site Carpark , personally I think all hotels in Ireland are extremely overpriced compared to much better ones in England Scotland & Wales and I don’t get why .

While in the hotel I decided to have lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel have embraced all the protocols regarding the pandemic regulations. I was requested to sign in and directed to a seat by a very polite staff member and the menu was offered , the menu was varied with many lunch options,my order was taken quiet quickly. When my lunch arrived it was covered with a plastic plate cover and when the staff removed it my lunch looked delicious and it was , the food was well presented, hot and plentiful. The staff checked by occasionally. The bar area where I was seated was free of any clutter well kept , extremely clean and well polished. The staff were extremely polite, very efficient and kept the bar area very . In light of the pandemic I felt the hotel went beyond the regulations offering a very safe environment and I will definitely will be back

Walked in for soup and a Sandwich. Service was rushed and unfriendly. Soup was terrible value (4.50e for about 150mls of soup) and sambo came with about 8 cold chips on the side. Two soups and two sambos was 22e. You wouldnt pay it in Dublin, and you'd probably get better food and service. Avoid!

Best thing about stay was the staff, all really friendly and helpful. Rooms modern, airy and bright.
Dinner was only ok, breakfast was nice.
Small details (that would cost little to fix) let it down, lack of staff on reception so phone usually goes unanswered, in automatic email correspondance bill in pound sign not euro, form for ordering breakfast to room only space for ordering one breakfast, had to ring reception on the morning to clarify what we wanted, no table in room for eating breakfast, had to eat lying on the bed, no shower cap in bathroom. Pity about the small annoying shortcomings because overall it's a nice place.

Stayed here with my kids. Honestly place is crazy. Firstly, the price is shocking to stay and the price of food is ridiculous. Secondly, as the hotel is packed full of Ukranians who seem to allow their children to just roam around and do nothing all day while the parents all hang around the back door smoking is overwhelming. Thirdly, having to pay out landish prices for accommodation and food while others eat and stay here free of charge baffles me as a tax paying citizen.

Went in with family who wanted to try out the carvery. We won't be going back. One of the group was vegetarian and asked for the quiche. The woman handling the meats on the carvery picked up the quiche wearing the same pair of gloves that were dripping in meat juices. An absolutely shocking lack of basic food hygiene.
Someone else in the group was overcharged. And as for the carvery, the stuffing was terrible (literally just breadcrumbs) and the carrots were undercooked. The carvery was decent value at €14 when you compare it to the price of the quiche and salad (€10.50 for a small quiche and a few leaves of lettuce, would hardly call it a salad) but then I suppose it's not such bad value if you get a free stomach bug thrown in with it!

My family have stayed at the Longford arms for years. I really liked it. However it has certainly gone down hill. Room nice and clean. Bathroom needed modernising. Toilet wouldn’t flush properly. Sink had a leaky tap. Breakfast was cold as was the coffee. One of the staff staff serving breakfast was not helpful at all and made us feel that she was doing us a favour by serving cold food! On saying that that, the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful including the cleaners. There were people hanging around the back door, on the stairs and in the reception. Kids running all around hotel. Made me feel very uncomfortable. More like a doss house than a hotel. Would definitely not stay there again.

Wont be back looking for a different pub for the rest of our holiday.

It's not terrible just the food is a little bland. The staff are lovely
I and a friend have both stayed at this hotel three times - I also took my sister and niece there and none of us have had any complaints - my sister had a very Victorian room and loved it - Ann and I now always ask for the same rooms as previously stayed in as they suit us both however my first stay there was a different room and that too was ok - breakfast is excellent and I found the staff very helpful, one even carried my case up stairs as I am disabled - staff I found really help was was receptionist called fidelma and the people who served breakfast - oh and breakfast was absolutely brilliant - would stay there again anytime - especially picked it originally as it has a pool and love the art deco atmosphere
That's what it was like when I went there, I can only speak as I find. I have no idea if any changes have been made.
My own review is quite clear and I suggest you read all the reviews and then make your own mind up.
