Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From arrival to departure our visit couldn't have been better. The coach house is a beautiful old building set behind the main house surrounded by fields.
Once inside the new and modern marry together sympathetically with the character and charm to provide all a guest needs.
We were welcomed by Matt the owner, chose from the list of breakfast options and a breakfast time for the morning.
We were taken upstairs and shown to the first room. It is a gorgeous en suite with a balcony and French doors looking out on fields and sheep. The big sleigh bed was so comfortable and the bedding luxurious. There is a seating area and plenty of room for your cases and belongings.
The bathroom is ultra modern and rivals many good hotels. A big oval bath and a large freestanding walk in rainfall shower along with the usual services in a very large beautifully decorated room with great lighting and lovely mirror completed the 5star look.
Breakfast the next morning was delicious with quality ingredients including home made bread and great coffee, carefully and stylishly prepared and presented by our host.
Matt was very helpful regarding places for a meal, and details of taxis. It also turned out that he knew my family from years ago which was a lovely surprise.
When we return to Longford we will book Augherea House again as it's a perfect place to stay.

Augherea Guest House is a beautiful building finished to a high specification. The bedroom and bathroom ere very large and had everything we wanted. The bedroom had a large sleigh bed, 2 comfortable armchairs in front of the TV and a leather armchair with a reading light. The furniture, fittings and bed linen were all of the highest quality and the room was cosy..From the balcony there was a lovely view across the countryside. The bathroom was beautifully decorated, had lots of hot water and good quality towels. There was a good breakfast menu and all of the food was presented and cooked perfectly. Matt, our host was helpful and friendly and took care to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.Aughereah The Royal Canal is only a few miles away. Ideal for kayaking or walking /cycling along the canal path. Guest House is great value for money and we are looking forward to staying there again in the near future

Beautiful renovated solution seems cheap. Large and equipped room, freshly prepared breakfast by the host with a wide choice and excellent level, availability of the host to our needs such as the Reservation by him of a restaurant to dine in. Absolutely recommended

Augherea House is an outstanding place to stay. The room's size, style and fit-out was very impressive, not to mention comfortable and cosy. All was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet, affording a great night's sleep. The cooked-to-order breakfast was perfect. Matt is a great host, who is friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Probably the best place to stay in all of Longford county.

We stayed one night in Augherea House snd it was fantastic. A beautiful spacious room, with exquisite bathroom. Peaceful, quiet surroundings and wonderful hosts.

The breakfast was delicious, fresh and top quality local products. The porridge with cinnamon a super treat.
We will definitely return.

A stay in Augherea Guest House is a must if you're visiting the Longford area. Matt and Mary will make you feel so welcome. The rooms are beautiful and comfy, it's the attention to detail and little extras that make this place a gem!

You're sure to leave with a smile on your face and a full belly following a great night's sleep. Don't forget to try Matt's delicious homemade brown bread! Looking forward to our next stay in the near future.

This guest house is the best I've ever stayed in.
Our room was spotless, very comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, delicious breakfast. The whole experience was very enjoyable. We've stayed in some 4 and 5 star hotels that couldn't match this. Have no hesitation recommending. We will definitely be back

Stayed here many times and never disappointed. A warm welcome, spotlessly clean rooms, better than most hotels we’ve stayed in, and a fabulous breakfast. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Thanks to Matt, who takes great care and pride in everything.

I booked Augherea Guest House after reading reviews. It totally exceeded my expectations. I know the area and had come to visit family. Matt was very flexible. I wanted to book in early and he accommodated this request. Also, he gave me a map and ideas of where to visit. This is like a five star hotel. Everything was pristine and immaculate. I had the best night's sleep in a long, long time. My room had a balcony with a great view. Breakfast was fantastic and more than kept me going the whole day! Loved the contrast between the old exterior and the very modern interior. I am so, so glad I booked, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone stopping off in Longford (plenty to do and right near the Shannon). I have stayed in a lot of guest houses but this in No 1 for me. I will definitely be staying hopefully whenever I am back in Longford. Thanks, Matt, for a great stay!
