It was raining and after a long trip from Dublin---lunch was most welcome. Dining room was very busy and in general food was acceptable. The owner exchanged pleasantries with the diners. Generally rather expensive as was the wine

This is a beautiful historic house, extremely comfortable beds, lovely staff, amazing gardens and absolutely superb food. I would recommend it for couples, families or anyone seeking a retreat from the hustle and bustle.

Nice charming old house. Our room was on 2 levels. The upper mezzanine had seating area. Some beautiful period furniture in room and throughout the house. Personally I thought the mezzanine a waste. It meant that the tv was upstairs. The room was large. A lovely bathroom. Great dinner and a fantastic breakfast. Home made breads that I wish I...

This home as built in 1620, and from the time I arrived I felt like royalty. My room was the most amazing I've stayed in, with a fireplace and two separate seating areas. The grounds were beautiful, Beryl was welcoming, and I had the best nights sleep in recent memory. This was certainly a treat!

This lovely hotel is run by the owners who take great pride in their work. The home and gardens are beautifully maintained and quite comfortable. The restaurant was the best I experienced in Ireland and accommodates vegetarians. The town is a very easy walk from the hotel, but far enough away to feel like you are truly in the countryside.

My husband and I began our Blue Book tour round Ireland for our wedding anniversary at Viewmount House and we definitely started in style! We had Sunday lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed. For starters my husband had the Confit of duck and I had the Ham hock with courgette salad and pickled cauliflower, absolutely gorgeous. We had a half bottle...

Recently did a tour of ireland staying in 6 different hotels/ B & B s. The Viewmount was number one, because of : Outstanding gardens, great room, great food and great hostess, The gardens in particular surprised me as this is not something I am interested in, but the variety and uniqueness of each garden was fascinating.

Viewmount house was recommended to us when wwe visited The Tannery earlier this year. We are doing a round Ireland challenge staying and eating in great places. This ticked both those boxes, our room was facing the front of the house, it had a beautiful four poster bed, period furniture but all the facilities you would also expect. Dinner was...

Stayed here for 1 night after my grandson's christening. We had our meal there after the christening, it's was absolutely gorgeous. Nothing was a problem. The house itself has been redecorated very tastefully by the proprietor and his wife. Has lots of charm and the the room we stayed in was fantastic. One of the best and nicest rooms I've...

It's a place I adore for its character, ambience, service and food. A top class food house with the service to match. Owner Beryll and chef Gary really are at the top of their game. We have been several occasions and the level was always the same.....top class ! Highly recommended
