What a very special place to stay. Viewmount House is a grand old Georgian country house. Beautifully maintained and decorated with period furniture in the hallways and the rooms. It feels so homely, thanks to Beryl's quiet but warm welcome. My room, split over 2 levels, was huge and had a great view over the gardens. It's very easy to...

My wife and I recently had a meal here with some friends and it was top class. Lovely atmosphere with a relaxed courteous, informal service. The menu is very diverse with some very interesting options - my wife had a beetroot jelly and gingernut biscuit dessert which she raved about. This place is a must for any foodie

I have stayed at Viewmount House a few times over the last few years and absolutely love it. The staff are always super friendly and it has a really nice quiet relaxed feel to it. The accommodation is also very reasonable considering the quality of it. Breakfast is also a delight! The only disappointing thing (tongue in cheek!) is that...

We experienced Irish hospitality at its very best when we stayed at this immaculate country house hotel. Beryl made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and she showed us to our comfortable and tastefully furnished room. Dinner in the beautiful and atmospheric dining room was an experience not to be missed. The Irish breakfast was delicious, with...

Over the years I have stayed many times in Longford as my company has a facility there. Longford is in central Ireland, outside of the normal tourist destinations. For years, the only lodging option in the town proper was Longford Arms, a dated and sub-par hotel. Just a couple of kilometers down the main street is this lovely Viewmount House....

We have frequently dined a Viewmount House, the food and service is always second to none. On one occasion we stayed over and the room and breakfast the next morning was just wonderful. We love the choice on the menu, with the option of a middle course as we are quite partial to tasting menus. My partner is convinced he...

We stayed here on a Friday night, and enjoyed a meal in their restaurant. This is an old house perfectly converted into quiet accommodation, this place is priced on the upper end of the market, but based on what i saw it is always busy, the room we stayed in was unusual in that it had a four poster bed,...

A haven of peace and tranquillity complimented by the warmth of the owners greeting on arrival. The house is full of character and decorated with care and attention to detail. Tea beside the open fire in the lounge area was a welcome bonus after a long drive. The bedroom was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was both hearty and delicious.

I have been coming here for years with both family and friends. Can't say enough good things about Viewmount House - from the moment you walk in you are treated with the utmost hospitality, making it extremely welcoming for any people not familiar with the area or Ireland in fact. Food is too die for, and the rooms are a...
