Detailed Reviews
We (four of us) had to make a last minute dash to Co Longford for a couple of nights. After reading some good reviews about the Longford Country House, we phoned & managed to book 3 rooms for our two night stay.
The house is tucked well away from the hustle & bustle of town, perfect for a relaxing few nights & the worlds friendliest pub (The Old Forge) is a mere €7 away in a taxi.
We were greeted with a very welcoming pot of tea on arrival & shown to our en suite rooms which were spacious & beautifully decorated. The showers were proper showers, good & strong & plenty of hot water.
I cant remember the last time I didn't finish off my breakfast but Patsys portions had me bursting at the seams, two of everything, a never ending flow of tea & coffee, a full Irish!
Fantastic house ran by very nice people, Peter & Patsy.
Thank you for your hospitality at such short notice & we'll defiantly be back for longer next time, maybe to make use of one of the cottages :)
10/10 from me.

The landlady was absolutely lovely and made our stay very comfortable and relaxed. The accomodation itself is stunning, such a beautiful house. As it is just outside the town of Longford, a peaceful nights sleep is guaranteed. The owners also offer cottages nearby which looked fantastic too! Breakfast was more than adequate, served in a warm and friendly atmosphere

We stayed for one night in this lovely country house. We had a great sleep as it was lovely and peaceful and a big Irish breakfast which was much needed with plenty of food and breads. This house has the country charm and is lovely and clean with big rooms.

Stayed in one of the cottages. Poor hospitality and guest treatment. The host was particularly rude and clearly the place requires significant improvement. I've stayed in hundreds of Hotels across Ireland and I can say there are many more pleasant places to stay in the Midlands.

Our room was small and cramped with dated furniture that had a musty cast to it. It appears we received the smallest room in the house. We spent three nights and the bed was uncomfortable at best. The first day, there were not adequate nor very good towels but this was rectified over the next two. The food was great and the shower very good. The downstairs and sitting/dining rooms were very nice which added to the disappointment in our room.Though not a fault of the proprietor, there were moths and bugs in the room. On the morning of the final day we were told that only cash was accepted. The closest town ATM would only allow 120 euro to be taken-we had to find the money and return to the B&B which disrupted our departure. Based on the other places we stayed, 78 euro a night did not seem good value for the accomodation we received.

I stayed with my family in 3 separate rooms at this wonderful B&B. Patricia the Landlady, made us all very welcome.
We each had different room styles but were all very impressed with our rooms, plenty of space to move around in and feel at home.
The breakfasts are excellent and very generous, Patricia really does know how to do the "Full Irish" justice!
If you are looking for a quiet, clean, comfortable, friendly and inviting place to stay I would have no hesitation in recommending Longford Country house.

We had a wonderful day at Longford Country House. The beauty and peacefulness of the garden as well as the whole area, including birds waking us up in the morning, were just what we had been looking for for our first night in Ireland. We also enjoyed the opulent breakfast.

Quiet location with turf fires, good food and a short drive from Longford. Patsy makes it the perfect location to relax and be cared for. The rooms are large and clean and our four night stay will not be our last.

If you're looking for a true Irish welcome, in a comfortable rural setting then look no further! Patricia and Peter are perfect hosts, friendly and knowledible about the area. I was visiting family and getting started on my family tree, so Patricia help was invaluable. The breakfasts were exceptional and usually meant I didn't feel hungry until late afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble and I was made to feel part of the family. I would gladly stay again, and would highly recommend Longford Country House to anyone visiting longford.
