Family of four, one with severe food allergy

I have a sesame allergy and couldn't recommend eating here enough. Even though sesame was on the menu, the chef and waiting staff really made sure that I was taken care of. Both with relaying informed choices and giving me the best service I have ever experienced anywhere.

I stop here several times a year and always enjoy my visit from the Welcome when you arrive to the Evening and dining in the restaurant
The Room is is always good with sparkling clean bathroom with a great shower and everything you need
The rooms are very comfortable with comfy chairs ,very comfortable beds the ladies were very hard to keep up with such a high standard
Wide screen TV too Plenty of teas and coffees too
In the evening I visit the Restaurant and always a warm welcome too
The food is top class and a really good choice menu or daily specials too
It’s a really nice room with plenty of comfortable chairs I always have trouble seeing name badges so I made a point of all the great people who looked after me during 6 day stay
First is the Breakfast which is absolutely fabulous everything you could ask for from cooked food to fruits of all kind plus porridge with real honey on the comb if that’s to your liking ,also teas and coffees to suit run by two special ladies who come and check everything is ok Nelly and Aneta run the breakfast area as in a five star hotel ,
Tea ? What would you like what flavour for me ? Decaf please and a great pot of tea arrives
Evening meal
Mark always comes and says hello everything ok ? also Emma just perfect and makes my stay so much better plus two other ladies who also work so hard to keep all the people happy and I will make sure I get their names
I must pay tribute to the Kitchen the food is Top class
There are others who are out of site too
The Gardens and flower displays are just so good too and the lovely ladies cleaning the public areas with always a cheery Good Morning

This is a fabulous hotel. Traditional style hotel, everything is immaculate. Rooms are spacious and there is an extra door between the sleeping area and the front door to the room i definitely think this blocks out noise from the hall but in saying that we didn't hear anything in the room while the internal door was open.

We travelled as a group of 4 adults and 5 children and all the staff were welcoming and helpful from check in, to the bar, to dinner, to breakfast. Nothing was too much. The pool is also lovely.

This hotel was also very reasonably priced for a family given the crazy prices some hotels are looking for now. I would high recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back!

Stayed for one night, not impressed at all, the room we stayed in was so dated and in bad need of an upgrade. The bed was clean and comfortable. We had the radiator on full but they must turn off the heating at night. When we checked in we were not made aware that there was only one place to eat. We went to the bar at 4pm and told we couldn't have a table just for a drink but that they also don't serve food until half 6. The bar staff advised us to put our name on a list then and hopefully they would manage to squeeze us in for dinner, dinner is only half 6 to half 8. Later when we arrived for dinner we were brought to our table, they took us out of the nice cosy candle lit bar to a cold, bare function room with some tables set up. To be fair the restaurant staff are fantastic, the food was served very quickly and it was fantastic, not expensive and huge portions. If you want to have a drink you go to the lobby then. Our stay included breakfast, plenty of choice, it was very nice and the staff were attentive. The leisure centre is the worst one of any hotel I have been to, the changing room floor was very wet and filthy, no shower gel in the shower cubicles. All of the hand rails at the pool are decaying with lime scale, you would not touch them, the view from the jacuzzi was a rotten wood door, and broken tiles and skirting, the tiles look filthy dirty so bring flip flops, around the pool is freezing and the pool was way to cold to use. On check out we were handed a food bill that wasn't ours. It was quickly rectified. I would never stay here again or recommend anyone to. I would highly recommend the food if you were in the area.

I booked a single room for a one night stay in late September. Upon check in I found I was waiting quite a few minutes even though one staff member at the desk was not on the phone, I had to wait for the staff member to finish her phone call before I was checked in. They were not particularly friendly which was disappointing and seemed very keen for me to eat in the restaurant for dinner which put me off booking. The room was clean and comfortable. I had pre-booked an early evening swim, at 4.20pm, and there was one lane reserved for lane swimming, the other 2 lanes were being used for childrens swimming lessons. However the children who were early for their sessions kept trying to enter or jump in the lane. Most of the 'digital' lockers that were available didn't work and only 50% of the parents around the pool were wearing shoe protectors. In the morning i went to the breakfast room but couldn't see any staff and there was a sign half visible saying 'please wait to be seated'. I waited at least 5 minutes and went into the breakfast room twice to try to find a staff member but there were only hotel guests eating. I went back to the reception and was told someone would be out soon. I was then almost told off in a patronising way that I should have sat down and someone would have come out - but there was nothing that mentioned this, in fact the only sign visible said the opposite. The breakfast was good but the fruit in the fruit salad was very unripe. When I went to check out a reception staff member walked past but didn't say anything. I wouldn't stay here again as there are many other hotels in Ireland with friendlier staff.

This hotel oozes warmth, hospitality and comfort. The bedroom was large very comfortable, very well appointed and the quality of all the furnishings were top class.

The function rooms (wedding) were elegant, superbly dressed and the flower arrangements were incredible.

The gardens were astonishing and the Begonia lined entrance to the hotel door was the first taste of that beautiful element of this hotels character

Now the food - EVERYTHING about the food exuded quality ingredients, dedicated and talented chefs and kitchen teams and well thought out menus. Well done There was a huge range of options for breakfast again high quality ingredients across the table. Loved it. Just superb

And nothing makes a hotel like it’s owner and the team of staff. NOTHING was a problem for anyone of the waiting team at the wedding lovely friendly warm and welcoming. Looking forward to staying again soon

Beautiful hotel, lovely gardens, immaculate room and outstanding food. We had a beautiful 3 course meal in the restaurant and it was amazing. The host that checked us in and our server were both welcoming and lovely. Our drinks server earlier in the day was also lovely. The one thing that let us down was the reception staff. The receptionist that checked us in was abrupt and not very welcoming at all, almost like we were an inconvenience. The receptionist that checked us out was on a personal call and she continued on the call while we stood at reception, only when my mam put our room key up did she ask for our room number while she was still on the phone, my mam said we needed to settle some room charges so she told her caller she would ring her back. Even then she wasn't particularly nice and didn't ask how our stay was. Its a shame as the rest of our stay was lovely as were the rest of the staff we met. It wouldn't put us off coming back but just not what you would expect from a nice hotel.

We stayed here for two nights in room 510. I cannot begin to describe how helpful and friendly the staff were. We ate in the restraunt both nights, my partner ordered the stir fry and had two bites of it and decided he didn't like it 🤦‍♀️. He told the waiter and immediately the meal was removed and replaced with another meal at no extra cost. This is outstanding service and it was no trouble at all for them. The staff went above and beyond at every turn and I can't wait to go back! Hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

Didn’t get off to the best start. Went to check in - receptionist very nice. Told us that they stopped serving at 2.30 so,if we wanted food to go straight to the bar/restaurant. The lady at the desk said that they had stopped serving at 14.30. It was 14.32. She offered soup and maybe scones but it was a hot day and we had driven for over 3 hrs so not terribly appealing. She recommended walking 5 minutes to the nearest garage where they did sandwiches etc. I was a bit sceptical but we did actually get 2 fantastic pastrami wraps so a good call. There are several lovely courtyards to sit in and have a drink. Drinks prices not excessive. Room was large with a sofa and a good bathroom. Dinner was nice. Be warned the black pudding and potato salad starter is lovely but massive and could be a main course. Would have n]been better if the wine had arrived before the food but that is a minor quibble.Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nice buffet breakfast with good Covid precautions in place. Was a good spot for a stopover on our trip to Kerry. Newbridge silver is within walking distance and well worth a visit. They have a very good sale on. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful

We phoned here yesterday at short notice hoping for a free table and we got one. Spoke to a lovely lady on the phone. When we arrived we were greeted with smiling eyes behind the masks. It was busy but not crowded.

We had a lovely waitress serve us throughout our meal.

The food was delicious. I don’t think I have ever had food brought to a table before that was piping hot and stayed hot throughout the meal.

Had two very creamy pints of Guinness.

Overall an excellent evening with fantastic food and excellent service. Looking forward to a return visit.
