Detailed Reviews
One of the nicest B&B's I have stayed in. Cost €35pp for the room & a lovely Irish breakfast AND the owner insisted on dropping us to the function at the Keadeen Hotel we were attending.
Friendly , clean & great value for money. I would stay here again.

Anne and Hugh go out of their way to welcome guests at all times of day and show a genuine interest in their guests. We stayed 4 nights and our son and his wife stayed 2 nights. The rooms are large and clean and the house is very quiet.Anne's breakfast is excellent and includes black and white pudding. There is a fridge in the dining room for guests to help themselves to milk, yogurts and fruit juice. There is also a guest lounge.
Mobile phone coverage is not very good but then you are near the Curragh. The oldest golf course in Ireland is only a few hundred yards from the house. Anne phoned a golf course for us when we couldn't get a mobile signal. Wifi is available in your room and we made good use of it.

We chose this B&B because of the good reviews. We were disappointed. Anne is certainly welcoming and friendly. The bed was clean and comfortable. The water was hot.
However, our room, particularly the ensuite was tired with flaking paint. There were no shampoo sachets and the soap in a chrome dish comprised two pieces of previously USED soap. Quite unacceptable.
On both days despite agreeing a time for breakfast it was obvious that the food had been cooked some time before hand. The bacon had dried out: the egg yolk had a hard crust from having been stored under heat: and, both the black and white puddings seeped oil when pressed with a fork. Not good.

We stayed two nights in April. The owner welcomed us at short notice. Accommodation clean, comfortable and room attractively furnished. Breakfast room was lovely and light and the choice of either a full Irish breakfast or a continental breakfast fitted the bill. A short drive away is the town of Kildare where there are excellent restaurants that suit any budget. We ate at the Thomas Silk and would go there again. Also in Kildare is

We booked three rooms for four nights, travelling from England for a funeral. We got a warm welcome from Anne and her lovely dog Sammy. All rooms were spotlessly clean and had everything we needed including Saorview TVs, ironing facilities, wardrobe and very comfy beds. A delicious breakfast was served each morning whenever we wanted it and there's a cosy lounge with TV, fridge and sofas we could use anytime. The B&B is just a few minutes drive away from the Curragh, Newbridge, Kilcullen, etc. We'll be staying again next time we're over.

This is exactly the experience one would imagine and hope for at a Bed and Breakfast in Ireland: Anne is the consummate hostess, the entrance and grounds are lovely and well maintained, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and breakfast is superb! (I had the full-Irish breakfast every day!) Highly recommended!

I stayed in The Curragh Plains while on tour with a show that was playing at The Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge this December. The B&B was comfortable, clean and warm and our hostess made us very welcome. We stayed three nights and made great use of the sitting room area, playing cards into the wee hours! There was a great selection of different breakfasts available, from the full fry to muslie, fresh fruit and yogurt. The landlady very kindly allowed us to eat our take-away dinner in the dining room one evening.
The location is about a 10min drive into Newbridge, and is right on the edge of the beautiful Curragh where we went for a walk one frosty morning.
I would certaiy recommend The Curraugh Plains highly.

I stay here on a regular basis due to closeness to newbridge town and the quiet surroundings in addition to the welcome I get every time I stay.
I generally stay on the first floor in a room at the back of the house that is nice and quiet and plenty room with a double and a single with un-suite. The owner of the b&b is very friendly, accommodating and the breakfast is also very good.
There is also safe parking at the rear of the house and would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a home away from home in a friendly environment.

We stayed for one night, found Anne welcoming and friendly. The room suited our needs perfectly, we had a very comfortable and peaceful night's rest. We had a relaxed breakfast, rate was very fair and we would certainly stay again should we need accommodation in that area at a future date.

It's about a mile from Athgarvan Cross. A nice walk without luggage. With luggage I would suggest a short taxi ride. The B&B is lovely. Ann is very accommodating and may even arrange something ahead of your arrival.
