We sat on their patio and had some great local oysters with a glass of white wine. Very yummy. They are right on the main street through letterfrack. We enjoyed our snack sitting on their outside tables in the sun

Standard hostel rooms and facilities, not much wrong with it, although the rooms are a bit smelly for some reason, seems they have a humidity problem. Wifi just didn't work in the room, had to go to the common room in order to get reception. Common room is large with a good kitchen, although if you have some money to...

Spent a night there on a road trip recently. Staff was very friendly and forthcoming upon arrival; I got a basic but decent room on very short (i.e. no) notice. Food was very good, and so were the pints. What makes this a five-star review though is that when I left behind my toiletry bag they posted it back to...

Had a great time here, the people were so nice. The only downside was being hassled by a guy who said he was a coastguard (Phil/Pete?) In the end we relented giving him 50 for him to go and visit his kids. Despite getting conned by him, my wife and I would most definiteky return.we had a lovely time.

Large bedroom with open style wardrobe. Bathroom a bit small though. Excellent kitchen/living area. Lovely BBQ area outside. Bar food was tremendous and staff are friendly. Locals are great fun. One hour from Galway by bus. Walking distance of Connemara national park.

After an extremely windy ascent of Diamond hill, followed by an even windier and wet descent I was delighted to get some good wholesome food into me. This is where The Bards Den came up trumps. I can definitely recommend the lamb stew and seafood chowder which myself and my wife shared. They were both warm and very filling. We...

I had the Bards Den recommended to me to stay at while diving in the area and I can't say enough about the place. Great food, nice pints and the staff are always ready to help you out when you need something. Rooms are basic and clean with lots of hot water (electric showers), an en suite and a key...

Just home from Letterfrack and this lovely hostel. Staff were really friendly and the food in the bar was gorgeous. Really happy with our room, beds were large and comfortable and the room was clean. Brillant shower in our room which was a pleasant surprise, topped off with a tasty breakfast, definitely be back again.

Visited and stayed in The Bards Den for 3 nights while on a diving trip with my club. Was warmly welcomed on arrival by the staff who couldn't do enough for us. Rooms were clean and warm and en suite shower was better than my own!.. We ate the bar food every night and portions were huge and very tasty...

“Room 1 was not great but from others that stayed at the same time as us, some of the other rooms had the smell of damp. I know its a hostel, so it's not claiming to have 3stars but some TLC would not cost them much but would make a huge difference”
