Fantastic place to stop for food and a Guinness. We were a large party of 48 golfers who were looked after for Sunday carvery with no problem at all. Food was fantastic and staff were all ready to help us get served and seated. Great place to stop on the way to the West coast. Plenty of parking at the rear. 5* all the way.

We stayed in Gullanes Hotel for one night for our wedding anniversary. We booked a stay directly online with the hotel which was very easy . 139 euro for B+B and one evening meal. We were booked for dinner at 16:30 but were delayed and didn't actually arrive till 18:00 and there was no issue with this . Our room was spotlessly clean and warm . A selection of tea coffee in the room. Fully functioning TV and free wi-fi . The double bed in the room was just a little small but mattress was comfortable . The pillows I'm afraid were awful. Dinner was delicious with a lovely varied menu. Food was freshly cooked, service was prompt and food was lovely and hot . Beer was lovely and cold . My husband was drinking the draught carlsberg which he thought tasted a little odd but was probably just the end of a barrel- he still drank it and didn't get sick or anything 😜 The girl that served our table was just so good at her job she was pleasant and helpful but also efficient. In the morning the shower was lovely and hot and powerful. towels were soft and fluffy. Breakfast was just as good as dinner fresh hot and tasty . Staff were efficient and pleasant. Overall a very nice country hotel . I would certainly stay again.

After a rigorous walk from the train station a local recommended Gullanes. It was excellent, leg of lamb , mash, corn, peas, carrots, stuffing roll and coffee. I’m stuffed and still need to walk back to the station. I’d prefer a nap. With the coronavirus this is the second time I’ve eaten out in two years. It was wonderful. Thank you Gullane!

My wife and I availed of bed, breakfast and evening meal at Gullane's Hotel on Wednesday 24th November, 2021. We were allocated a double room on the first floor and it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very courteous, helpful and accommodating. The evening meal and breakfast was very good. We retired to bed at 11:40 hours as we had a business meeting in Ballinasloe the following morning. At 12:10 we were awakened by a number of people shouting and screaming in a room directly opposite our room. There were people also running up and down the corridor. At 1:40 I got dressed and opened the door and I observed a young lady with a bottle of beer in her hand outside of our bedroom door. There was ten to fifteen people attending a party in the room opposite our room. I exhorted the protagonists to calm down and allow other customers to get some sleep. I was subjected to taunting and laughter and told to "get a Life". I called reception and advised the night supervisor that we were going to have to leave the hotel due to the unruly behaviour of a large number of people who were having a party on the corridor and in a bedroom opposite our bedroom. The night supervisor called to the room where the party was in progress and advised the protagonists to go to their own room. The unruly party recommenced about 30 minutes later and at 3:10 I again called the night supervisor and he again called to the bedroom where the party was in progress, but he had some difficulty in getting the culprits to open the door. He again advised the protagonists to return to their own rooms. At 7.00am there was lot of banging of doors which awakened customers on the first floor. When we went down to breakfast I asked the receptionist if I could speak to the owner or manager. She very courteously advised me that Tomas was away and the manager was not available. She told me that the night supervisor had advised her of the complaint he had received during the night, and she undertook advise Tomas of the problems we encountered on his return. She gave me a business car with the appropriate email address to submit a written complaint. Later that day I sent a detailed email complaint to the owner but I received no response. A few days later I sent a follow up email to the owner but again I got no response. The big problem with this hotel is that it is very old and there is no sound proofing between the bedrooms and very thin walls. When someone runs on the corridors, the old timber floor vibrate and it is very difficult to get any sleep. Our experience at Gullane's hotel on Thursday morning 25th November, 2021 was very distressing and the response from management was totally unacceptable. The aberrant behaviour of some customers on the occasion in question was totally unacceptable. It is a very clean hotel, the food is very good, there is excellent free parking and the staff are very courteous, professional and helpful. The bedroom accommodation is very clean and of a very high standard, but there is a responsibility on management to ensure that customers can get a good nights sleep, and parties in the bedrooms, involving the consumption of alcohol, should be prohibited. Management should respond in a timely to reasonable verifiable complaints from customers. I hope this review will help other prospective customers.
