We stayed for 4 nights in September

We received a warm welcome and staff were very accommodating as we arrived early.
All the staff at this establishment have to be one of the friendliest we have stayed in. The Manager Thomas came and introduced himself to us and nothing was too much trouble.
The food is excellent
The rooms are spotless, spacious with telly, hairdryer, iron and tea and coffee facilities.
There is a large spacious car park which is free and hotel smack bang in the middle of the town.
Will only ever stay here when in Ballinasloe why stay anywhere else

Went here for dinner last night with my husband and kids. The food is beautiful. I had the chowder for starters, roast beef for main and Mississippi mud pie for dessert - I could not move afterwards 😁. The restaurant is spotless and COVID regulations are definitely adhered to and enforced in the restaurant. The lady that looked after us was really friendly and a credit to the hotel. We will definitely be back!!

This was my fifth stay at Gullane's and it just get better every time.
The food is second to none at any time of the day.
The staff cannot do enough to make your stay the best.
The owner is a lovely man who always finds time to chat.

It has a large free and safe car park and many function rooms but keeps the ambiance of a warm family hotel.
The rooms are spotlessly clean with great attention to detail and very comfortable with large flat screen TV...tea and coffee, rooms are en-suite, hairdryer and towels.
Also a large bar area with sports TV and also quiet areas for chatting.
And the Bar prices are very competitive.
And for the smokers among us an undercover large outside area with tables and brollies.
Excellent value for money with a full Irish breakfast included as well as other options.
A very big thank you to the owner and his staff for a fantastic stay.
TIPS!!!!

My wife and I availed of bed, breakfast and evening meal at Gullane's Hotel on Wednesday 24th November, 2021. We were allocated a double room on the first floor and it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very courteous, helpful and accommodating. The evening meal and breakfast was very good. We retired to bed at 11:40 hours as we had a business meeting in Ballinasloe the following morning. At 12:10 we were awakened by a number of people shouting and screaming in a room directly opposite our room. There were people also running up and down the corridor. At 1:40 I got dressed and opened the door and I observed a young lady with a bottle of beer in her hand outside of our bedroom door. There was ten to fifteen people attending a party in the room opposite our room. I exhorted the protagonists to calm down and allow other customers to get some sleep. I was subjected to taunting and laughter and told to "get a Life". I called reception and advised the night supervisor that we were going to have to leave the hotel due to the unruly behaviour of a large number of people who were having a party on the corridor and in a bedroom opposite our bedroom. The night supervisor called to the room where the party was in progress and advised the protagonists to go to their own room. The unruly party recommenced about 30 minutes later and at 3:10 I again called the night supervisor and he again called to the bedroom where the party was in progress, but he had some difficulty in getting the culprits to open the door. He again advised the protagonists to return to their own rooms. At 7.00am there was lot of banging of doors which awakened customers on the first floor. When we went down to breakfast I asked the receptionist if I could speak to the owner or manager. She very courteously advised me that Tomas was away and the manager was not available. She told me that the night supervisor had advised her of the complaint he had received during the night, and she undertook advise Tomas of the problems we encountered on his return. She gave me a business car with the appropriate email address to submit a written complaint. Later that day I sent a detailed email complaint to the owner but I received no response. A few days later I sent a follow up email to the owner but again I got no response. The big problem with this hotel is that it is very old and there is no sound proofing between the bedrooms and very thin walls. When someone runs on the corridors, the old timber floor vibrate and it is very difficult to get any sleep. Our experience at Gullane's hotel on Thursday morning 25th November, 2021 was very distressing and the response from management was totally unacceptable. The aberrant behaviour of some customers on the occasion in question was totally unacceptable. It is a very clean hotel, the food is very good, there is excellent free parking and the staff are very courteous, professional and helpful. The bedroom accommodation is very clean and of a very high standard, but there is a responsibility on management to ensure that customers can get a good nights sleep, and parties in the bedrooms, involving the consumption of alcohol, should be prohibited. Management should respond in a timely to reasonable verifiable complaints from customers. I hope this review will help other prospective customers.

Just back from a three night stay in Gullane's in Ballinasloe and enjoyed this comfortable hotel and surrounds. From entering the hotel Covid precautions were evident with staff all wearing masks and many sanitizing stations in use. The double room on the third floor was spacious, comfortable and very clean with a double and single bed, a bath-tub shower and small table and chairs. The dining rooms and bar areas were clean, tables set out a comfortable distance apart and a good menu available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meals were very tasty. Breakfast was served to your table. The roast beef dinner was exceptional. GF options available. Nice homemade breads. The staff were friendly and attentive too. There was an option to dine outdoors. Covid regulations appeared well adhered to during our stay. Ballinasloe is a nice town with plenty of small cafes/ restaurants, gift and clothes shops on main streets. A good base for visiting the West.

We stayed in Gullanes Hotel for one night for our wedding anniversary. We booked a stay directly online with the hotel which was very easy . 139 euro for B+B and one evening meal. We were booked for dinner at 16:30 but were delayed and didn't actually arrive till 18:00 and there was no issue with this .
Our room was spotlessly clean and warm .
A selection of tea coffee in the room. Fully functioning TV and free wi-fi .
The double bed in the room was just a little small but mattress was comfortable . The pillows I'm afraid were awful.
Dinner was delicious with a lovely varied menu.
Food was freshly cooked, service was prompt and food was lovely and hot . Beer was lovely and cold . My husband was drinking the draught carlsberg which he thought tasted a little odd but was probably just the end of a barrel- he still drank it and didn't get sick or anything 😜
The girl that served our table was just so good at her job she was pleasant and helpful but also efficient.
In the morning the shower was lovely and hot and powerful. towels were soft and fluffy.
Breakfast was just as good as dinner fresh hot and tasty . Staff were efficient and pleasant.
Overall a very nice country hotel . I would certainly stay again.

My wife and I availed of bed, breakfast and an evening meal at Gullane's Hotel, Ballinasloe on Thursday 15th September, 2022. We arrived early and the receptionist, who was very polite, courteous and professional, told us that it was no problem. She allocated us a room on the third floor which was spotlessly clean, bright and airy. There was a large flat screen TV in the room and the bed was very comfortable. We got an excellent nights sleep in very peaceful surroundings. The meals were first class and the restaurant staff were courteous, polite and very helpful. Breakfast at Gullane's is exceptionally good. There is ample free parking at the hotel with a pedestrian exit onto the Main Street. We received first class accommodation and very good value for money. Well done to the management and staff. Tom Murphy, Maynooth.

I was checked in by a very welcoming and helpful lady ( i think Sinead). I was staying on my own and was given room 216, which was very spacious, clean and had a double bed. I was stayed for 2 nights and ate in the hotel both evenings. The food was superb and the portions were very generous. The owner was on site both evenings and spoke to everyone eating and drinking, it was a great personal touch. The breakfast was also brilliant, with plenty of choice. The staff in all areas were very helpful and courteous in all areas of the hotel. There is a huge car park at the rear of the hotel and it is located in the centre of town. I will be back again.

We've stayed here on two different trips to Ireland, primarily because it is 1.5 hours to the Dublin Airport. Driving to Gullane's from the west after touring the north or the south is very convenient. Why not save that last bit of driving to the airport for the morning.

The rooms were very quiet and comfortable, and we enjoyed the restaurant and bar. Braised lamb shank was very good. Full Irish breakfast hit the spot. Staff were friendly and professional.
