I was there last Monday and I'm coming back this week for a course. Everyone of the staff went out of their way to help out particularly the two receptionists on Mon 12th at 8am I never got their names I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could
Arrived on Saturday afternoon and from check in to check out really enjoyed our stay.. the hotel is spotless, the service was friendly and efficient, food was so enjoyable, the service both at dinner and at breakfast faultless, the staff very friendly, nothing was too much. Thanks for a fabulous stay, really enjoyed.. The Covid guidelines were in place and were very obvious at all times but still managed to have was a comfortable enjoyable atmosphere.
We had our wedding booked in the Shearwater for May but due to the Coronavirus had to cancel it.We moved it to September the 11th and said we would go ahead with it even if we could only have the 50 people limit. We are so so glad we did! The Shearwater could not have been more helpful, understanding or patient. Even though the guidelines changed a few times they were always on the other side of the phone to answer our many many questions and calm me down!!! We were one of the lucky couples who were able to have our wedding when the country was still at Level 2. The day itself was amazing. The professionalism and teamwork shown by the management and all the staff was 100%. The hotel was spotless and the food was divine. The ballroom looked as fabulous as I had imagined. Gorgeous room for a wedding reception. The bridal suite was stunning. Felt like we were in a penthouse apartment in a 5 star hotel! We also felt very safe as all the guidelines were being followed to the letter by the hotel. We had our own section of the hotel and only our guests were allowed in this area. This was great for peace of mind. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and will be forever grateful to the hotel for giving us such a perfect day even with all the restrictions they had to follow. Our guests are still talking about how delicious the meal was and how lovely the hotel staff were. Special thanks to Estella, Tony and Barry. You make a brilliant team and we will back for a big party when things get back to normal!! Thanks to all the staff who played a part in our day. We cannot recommend The Shearwater Hotel and Spa enough. We had the best day ever! Iomar and Éanna Cunniffe (11/09/2020)…
From the very friendly receptionist on arrival to all the hotel staff during our stay, it was as good as it gets. The room was spotless with good facilities. Well done to all the cleaning staff. The bar was lovely and spacious. We had a waitress named Alannah who has to be the friendliest I have met in a long time. The food was quickly served and absolutely delicious. All staff were very on the ball looking after a full bar which was well socially distanced. Breakfast was quick and equally delicious. The pool and spa areas are excellent and the most impressive thing compared to other hotels I have stayed at lately is no messing around booking times, pleading etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a staycation and we will be back. Well done to all the staff at The Shearwater.…
Spent a midweek break here with my wife for a chill out couple of days on arrival great car park and lift to reception was welcomed and all covid related prevention was explained stayed on the first floor and was pleased with our room all the usual reading materials had been removed due to covid the only small downside was no fridge for a four star hotel we ate in the hotel both nights and the food was superb all the time being served at our table by friendly staff the breakfast was also served by staff and was also very good and quick service we did not avail of the pool facilities in these strange times this was just a personal choice for us so I can't comment on that we drove to Galway City which is only a forty minute drive away such a beautiful city we just had a walk round it would have been nice to mingle more but as I said these are strange times. Back at the hotel lidl is just across the road as is aldi and Ted tesco and the town is only a short stroll away there is a small marina but no boats at this time of year would love and will be back here hopefully in better times…
