Sheila erased any travel stress I was having. Upon arrival, she assured me that no request was too big for her to meet and it was true. Our flight out was crazy early and Shelia secured a cab and provided a beautiful breakfast for our long journey back to California. The house was homey, exceptionally tidy, and reflected the warmheartedness of our host. I will never stay anywhere else when I'm in Dublin, Sword is a sweet city just outside of Dublin just a 20 min drive from the airport. I wish we could have stayed longer so we'll just have to go back! Enjoy!
Sheila was wonderful!. We arrived really late. She came outside to cordially greet us and told us that it was fine and that the only thing that matters was “that we arrived safely”. We only had a few hours before our fly back to the states and wished we had time for breakfast and enjoy her charming, courteous and friendly ways. When we left at 5:00 AM, she gave us perfect instructions to the airport’s rental car returns and home baked scones the night before for breakfast. A life saver! Short but memorable visit. Thank you Sheila
My husband and I traveled with one of our daughters and her husband. Ard Cil was our first B&B stay here in Ireland on this trip and it set the expectations high for the ones later on. Sheila was so welcoming; we felt at home immediately. Ard Cil is in a lovely setting; the home is charming and comfortable. We quickly felt as though we were family coming to stay. Everything was spotless; breakfasts hearty with much variety. We were sorry to leave so soon to go on. We were only booked to stay two nights and even checked to see if Sheila would have room for us later in the trip. But, unsurprisingly she was booked. We'd all come again! Thank you, Sheila. Sheila was so sweet upon our arrival. She suggested several close restaurants and a closer route to the airport. After dinner, she encouraged us to sit in the family room and watch TV. Wonderful, HUGE, room, which was spotless!
Arrived here after a long motorcycle ride from Belfast. Beautiful country B&B home in a long but quiet and secluded country lane. The establishment is spotless, modern and very homely. Sheila White, the proprietress, a delightful, friendly, welcoming and affable lady, greeted me with tea and biscuits and even made me a sandwich after my long ride from Belfast. On entering the B&B for the first time, I noticed a beautiful fragrance (I recognised it but couldn’t quite place it) permeating the establishment. I meant to ask what fragrance it was, but I forgot. Are-Cill has a strong and flawless Wi-Fi signal (free) and a secluded and safe car park as part of the property. I was offered the use of the garage to keep my motorcycle in overnight but I was perfectly happy with the solitude of the location and apparent safety. I’m not sure if the B&B has en-suite rooms but although my accommodation was with shared bathroom, the room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, AND had an integral wash-hand basin. Towels were supplied, as was soap etc. If I had to pick up on anything at all, it was that - for me, personally - my double bed was a little too soft for my back. However, other people may find softer mattresses preferable. Overall, nothing was a problem for Sheila and she even offered me to take away a bottle of water for my ongoing trip, and fruit too. Breakfast was comprehensive and filling and pretty much as much as I wanted. I highly recommend Sheila White’s (and the two little dogs) Ard-Cill B&B. Thoroughly pleasant stay... one of the nicest I’ve ever experienced.…
My 18 year old son and I booked this and, as we were coming from Bunratty, had a 2 hr drive. I was charging my phone battery and meant to call but realized in the middle of the medieval banquet that I had forgotten to call. I was stuck amidst about 10 people or would have gone at and called her then. I called about 8 to let them know we would be there around 10:30pm & was told it was no problem. (Our medieval banquet went over by about 20 minutes so we were later than planned, arrived at 10:40.) Found it in the dark because per owner's instructions we put "KettlesCountry House Hotel" in the GPS. Once there, we put address in phone & found it. She didn't seem pleased that it was 10:40. Showed us our room and it was a double bed rather than two twins. I showed her the voucher said twins but she went and got her book to show us she had written double bed & told me to take it up with Ireland B &B. Obviously a misunderstanding but the problem for me was when she didn't offer to do anything about it. I told her it would be hard for my son (6' 2" tall) to sleep comfortably in a double bed with his mother. He offered to sleep on the floor and she didn't offer another pillow, blanket or pad to sleep on. He slept on the bedspread and I found a blanket in the closet. I should have asked her to do something but I was just dumbfounded. There was no apology, no thought to help us out. We told her we would have to leave around 7:30 for the airport so not to worry about breakfast. We were not given the Wifi password and we were afraid to try to find her and ask for it. We didn't shower because it was late and she seemed so put out. I see others have left positive reviews but this was the experience we had. She was not very welcoming or accommodating and we were nothing but apologetic and cordial for the lateness of our arrival. There is a shared bathroom, which I should have known had I done the research. Her directions to the airport were perfect. I wouldn't stay here again. We stayed at 8 B and Bs during our stay and this was the only one that wasn't wonderful.…
Very comfortable and very accommodating. We were offered tea or coffee as soon as we arrived. We were very well taken care of. The B&B is minutes away from Swords with access to plenty of food. Very close to the airport. The only complaint was no TV in the room and WiFi didn't work well.
Late arrival ...got turned around so Sheila's husband came to meet us. Warm welcome, Beautiful clean home and rooms. Breakfast was great. Nice family room with lots of snacks on arrival. Short taxi ride to downtown Sword for dinner and pub night..
Lovely property and hostess. Location very convenient to Dublin airport. We arrived quite late and night; Ms. Sheila was very accommodating to wait up for us and greeted us warmly. The room was great, bathroom spacious and had toiletries available, breakfast delicious. In the morning we got to see the property better and the grounds were lovely. Highly recommend a stay here.
So it was our last night in Dublin, Ireland area, it was the day the storm Ella arrived, was not good weather, trees and police all over the place, we finally found the B & B, very difficult to find, very treed was like Hansel and Grettle forest. We finally found it but was quite worried about getting to the airport on time the next morning so we checked in with the host which seemed very nice, cute dog too, and said we declined on staying because of the weather and good thing because on the way through again back to airport there were more trees down and was finding it difficult, we had to take many detours out. Regardless we made it back to the airport and could not find hotel within 3 hours, so we stayed at airport. I would say for someone wanting to be closer to shopping, etc, or pubs for dinner not the best place, there are closer hotels to the Airport for same price..…
