Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I arrived exhausted at approx 1.30pm and a very forceful staff member told me that although the email confirmation of my booking stated that check-in was from noon, I couldn't actually check-in until 3pm. I left, forfeiting my payment and found another hotel. On my previous visit, I also had issues when trying to check-in. I asked a question and was told "I'm just a waitress, I don't know".

This is a super wee place. After 24 hours travelling we were met with a comfortable clean room, super friendly staff, a great cold pint and enjoyable dinner. The staff could not have been more helpful. We even had a hearty breakfast before our road trip home. Highly recommend.

Really good venue for breakfast/brunch. It is spacious and clean with plenty of seating as well as outside areas under cover with tables separated by high walls. Service is friendly and efficient. Good selection on the menu and the meals were tasty. Prices are reasonable. Full bar available for early starters. There is a small saloon bar at the entrance.

Lovely clean rooms, easy check-in /out, really excellent bar/waiter service - top level. My only issue is rooms not sound proof in ANY way. Can hear everything from other rooms, from conversation to tvs to snoring etc plus housekeeping starts very early even though check-in not til 3 pm so was woken by them knocking on all doors aswell as all night at regular intervals

We stayed 1 night at the hotel and ate dinner in the bar. Location in the center of Swords is great! We stayed in the triple room located at the front of the hotel facing the main street. The room was acceptable with 3 single beds. We kept the window open as it was a warm evening . It was very noisy until late evening with patrons outside the bar below our window. Bar food was OK. Nothing special. The bar is modern and has a nice atmosphere and a good selection of beer. Because of the noise I would not recommend the triple room at the front of the hotel and get a room not subject to the noise.

Booked here as we had a red eye and wanted to be near the airport. We were very pleased with this gem. We had a room at the back so was very quiet apart from the chorus of birdsong when the patio door was open. Beds were comfy room was clean and comfortable. Bryan went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. We had a big Irish breakfast upon arrival in the pub. That night we went back down to the pub for dinner and walked into a typical pub party complete with kitchen band and lots of families out at the local for a Saturday night of fun with friends. Oh and the fish and chips were great too! The only surprise was that the kitchen doesn’t open for breakfast until 10:00 and there is no one around to check you out before then as well. I would stay again for sure.

I stayed one night at the Forty Four and had a few drinks and a good dinner in their pub. The music was excellent. I would have rated them excellent but I was double billed (for the same amount) on my credit card. I have e-mailed them multiple times asking them to correct their error. They have not responded so I filed a complaint with my credit card.

Stayed here on business early November 2022. The bar is really pleasant and the rooms are perfectly nice. My only slight gripe is the breakfast option. This could be booked for a reasonable €7, but when we came down for breakfast at 0730 the hotel/bar was empty!!! A random chap was sat doing stuff on his laptop and said that they didn't serve breakfast until 10am at the earliest!! This information might have been useful the night before! Luckily there was a handy McDonald's about 50m away. So in summary a nice place but check the Ts&Cs with the staff when you arrive!!

Given double room instead of twin, very apolgetic, but room only set up for single occupancy. No locks on bathroom door, very noisey as above bar doors. Moved to twin for next night, even noiser as window did not close tightly, no TV remote and in both rooms only a tea bag, no coffee. Staff friendly but poor facilities, not really a hotel but a bar with rooms directly above
