This hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. We had an early morning flight and decided to stay here instead of having to travel from home which is over two hours away(makes a difference when you factor in three hours for check in before flight). We were very satisfied with the accommodation it is clean & basic but does the job for one night. When booking in we were offered the choice of a ground floor or first floor room. The room is large & has everything you need for an overnight/early morning departure. Bathroom was very clean. There is a charge for parking on site it is for 24 hour. We found the staff very friendly & helpful even when booking out at 4am. Didn’t eat in the adjoining restaurant as the menu is not plant based friendly- not all non meat eaters want to eat mock meat! Will definitely stay here again…
Corridor and bedroom had an awful smell! Saying it's an airport hotel is misleading, it's a €11 taxi ride away. There's meant to be a shuttle bus as advertised but this isn't the case. Walls are paper thin, couldn't sleep all night with the noise of people shouting and doors banging. Dirty bath. Broken heater. Staff were friendly and the room had a good shower but the dirty bath ruined it.
The rooms were very tatty and old with chipped paint and stains throughout both rooms and were not 100% clean. Some of our party stayed in Room 11 and the smell of cigarette smoke in the room for the entire duration of the stay was overwhelming. The bedlinen was old and not comfortable. There was huge amounts of noise in the corridors for the entire night which made getting any sleep before our flight the next day an issue.
Id only recommend if hostile stays are your kinda thing. It did the job kinda. Very loud in the night with drunks in the hall ways, shouting and banging till 3am. Room wasn't clean - shower gel on the wall in bathroom and parts of the furnishing peeling off. Not enough brew things provided. A two night stay got us two sashes of coffee two tea bags two sugars and two milk cartons. Normally we had milky brews with two sugars in each. Didn't feel safe to venture the corridor to request more 1 pillow per guest. Plus side bed was comfy and warm.
Hoorah, we are traveling again !! My wife and I always stay at this Travelodge in Swords when we fly into Dublin from the United States. Great location....only 3 miles from the airport, a Lidl's almost across the street and within walking distance to Swords City Centre, pubs and restaurants. If you want to go to the center of Dublin, Bus 41 will take you there (12 miles) for only 3.30 Euros per person one-way. The hotel rate is very reasonable, but no frills. The mattress sleep quality is wonderful and quiet at night, so far. We found the staff to be super friendly and very accommodating. The hotel does serve breakfast. Please I know it’s cheap and near the airport but don’t . From the start I knew the staff out the front make it seem like a hassle just to check you in . Then the smell of weed out the front just knew it wasn’t going to be good . The rooms are dirty the toilet still had poo stains from the previous people staying here the carpets are stained and quite frankly it’s a dodgy spot avoid at all costs
Bottom line is that you get what you pay for. The room was absolutely fine but the hotel could do with some attention. The stairs wasn't swept in a few days with muck from worker's boots still there and would a daily change of towels be possible? On the positive side, the WiFi was perfect and breakfask was very good too! Staff were helpful.
I have stayed here previously and found it a good spot. On arrival there was a group of men outside smoking right at door, quite intimidating arriving there at night as a lone female. Reception staff friendly. On arrival to room, clean and basic which is fine for a stopover. However the locks on the door are a disaster. On my door there was just a chain, the lock didn't turn. I didn't feel it was particularly secure as it could be kicked in quite easily. I forgot to mention it in the morning to staff. Loud music was being played out in car park but reception staff dealt with it swiftly. No further noise during the night Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and beds were comfortable. The lock on the door really needs to be upgraded as it has put me off staying there again in case all doors are similar?…
I was booking a last minute cheap room close to the airport. 7.30 am flight and car hire to be returned. It ticked all the boxes and is a typical affordable no thrills option on the budget line. It was clean although bath (Room 230) had a large chip in it which looked like it had been there a while! My room had 3 beds (1 double) so I felt like Papa Bear! TV worked and used the two takeaway cups for coffee. Did not use any other facilities and checked out 5am. Realised no shower/soap when in the shower and forgot to mention to reception for next guest.
I cannot sing praises enough to the entire staff at the North Travelodge. They are warm and welcoming and nothing is a bother they are eager to help. The room was comfortable and clean and the location is perfect to walk to the shopping centre in the retail park.
