Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to Kettles to celebrate our mother’s birthday on a Saturday afternoon and it was great from start to finish. Knowing that there would be 15 of us I rang ahead on the Weds to make the reservation and arrived to the lounge on Sat and the designated tables had been set up with white table cloths a very nice touch. Food was fab and the service excellent everyone was so attentive and nice. We had bought a cake for mammy but did not expect all the staff to accompany it to the table but they did!! Mammy at 88 years of age was delighted with herself. Big thanks to everyone there for a very enjoyable afternoon.

Stayed here with my daughter for 3 nights for Irish dancing competition. I highly recommend this hotel, the staff couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was perfect, this included providing my daughter with a pair of crutches as she injured herself at the competition. The rooms were spotless, food was great & service second to none .

Very nice hotel in the country just 30 minutes outside of Dublin. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Patrice at the front desk was very kind and accomodating, she printed up some nearby activities appropriate for our kids (8, 6 yo). There was a nice fireplace in the reception that was lit at night. There is a 5 star, very chic restaurant on the premises and a typical Irish pub as well. There was even hot chocolate with marshmallows that we were able to take upstairs to our room.

Stayed here again the night before a last minute emergency flight to the United States in September. Arrived late and was greeted by Jamie the Night Auditor guy who was a lovely lad, helped me print a few documents which I needed for morning. Room itself was basic enough, but given I was only there for a few hours did the job. The Next Morning I had breakfast before I left for the airport and was served by Patrice, who seemed to be doing her best wonder woman impression as she appeared to be running both the Restaurant and Reception. Breakfast again basic enough, but very tasty and set me up for the flight ahead. Hotel Does what it says on the tin, Located close to the airport, comfy beds, and tasty breakfast in the morning. Will definitely be back when I’m flying again. Thanks Again Guys!

Tucked away, quiet little spot but close enough to the airport and downtown Dublin. The staff was friendly, accommodating & just lovely. Had a wonderful time meeting locals in the pub and the bartenders were amazing. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. The shower was hot, and after our long day, perfect. ONLY thing missing was the traditional Irish music!!!

We arrived to Kettle's county Inn very late (10:30 PM I think...) after a horrendous day of looking for a room in Dublin on a Saturday night after Booking.com HAD DOUBLE BOOKED OUR RESERVATIONS somewhere else and literally left us out in the cold. (NO HELP there whatsoever...) Their hotel was full, they had two large parties going on, and NOT a room was to be had in Dublin anywhere..., and we had to be at the airport early i the morning. To make a long story short, the young lady at the reception (Melanie) felt our plight (we were ready to spend the night in our rental car....). She asked her manager to help and he agreed to set up small beds in a board room. I am SO grateful to those people for their humanity, I wanted people to know ! THANK YOU Melanie and all the folks at Kettle's county Inn for your hospitality and your kindness !

I visited this questionable establishment alongside my partner during our visit to Dublin, hoping to experience an authentic irish carvery. However our experience can only be described as downright appalling. The steak was dry, the potatoes looked like they had been resurrected from the famine. The experience was further hindered by the rude and entitled staff. Whilst tucking into my diabolical meal, myself and my partner received ‘side eye’ from several staff members. I suspect that this was due to our status as a homosexual couple. I requested some extra napkins and the response I got was a sigh and an eye roll from the young lady who we asked, who then proceeded to laugh and snigger at us with one of her coworkers. When we finally decided that we had enough of this marginalisation, and asked for the bill, I was shocked to see what our total amounted to for a meal that was possibly the most grim thing I have ever seen. Because of the poor service and my German customs, I did not leave a tip. When the young lady saw this she became vulgar and unnecessarily aggressive while stacking the plates. She made a snide remark, referring to a local gay bar and compared my partner to philip schofield, who I later learned is a local gay celebrity who was recently embroiled in a scandal that I believe involved an underaged man. I would not recommend this ‘restaurant’ to anyone who is visiting the area, I can only describe the 80 euro I paid as robbery. Absolutely shocking!

Very cosy hotel with friendly staff. We enjoyed our short stay there while doing a 2 week trip around Ireland. The meals were huge and reasonably priced. It was a change of weather from Mexico to here but we loved the warmth of the hotel and the people. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Dublin.

This hotel a few miles from swords and the airport is on the whole a very quiet and vibrant hotel. Upon check in staff were friendly and room was clean and spacious for my wife and 2 young kids. The only let down from the room was no air con, but this was the only real issue. We had breakfast as part of our stay and everything was cooked well, as you’d expect from a rural hotel. The dinner we got was very very good. I went for a roast beef and everything was well cooked and gravy was rich and flavoursome. My wife and parents meals again were packed full of flavour. Desserts 7.5 out of 10. Very well presented but just ever so slightly lacked the cutting edge. My only criticism was that they forgot my main meal and my party had Finished there’s prior to coming out. The staff were apologetic. But this was the only real drawback on a well run hotel. Prices competitive too. I would recommended for a short stay over

We recently stayed at the Kettles Country House Hotel for two nights. The team at the hotel are absolutely lovely... In particular, Bridget, Leanna and Emily. They were all so friendly and welcoming and they really do everything that they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Our room was lovely - room 202, it had a separate lounge area. I would definitely stay at the hotel again and would highly recommend it.
