I'm disappointed that I have to leave a bad review, however my experience of this establishment has left a bitter taste in my mouth. During an 8day family holiday in Dungloe in late july, we decided to dine in the Waterfront each night. At this stage, I should mention that we also invited my elderly parents to join us by booking them into the hotel for a period during our stay in Dungloe. We befriended the bar manager, who informed us that they weren't taking bookings for "walk ins "., however if we were up before 6pm everynight he would be able to accommodate our family of 5. On average we spent €120/night on food and never held our table to inconvenience anyone else looking for a table. Unfortunately, not all the staff were as accommodating and we were refused entry on the final night of our holiday at approximately 6.02pm. I understand that we are all very aware of the covid restrictions and we all obeyed these restrictions by displaying our vaccine certs when required, however I feel very disappointed that after taking our custom for 7 nights at a total expense of €800 that we were not permitted to dine in the facility one more time because they had taken bookings that were not allowed every other night. On a separate issue, I should also inform you that the disabled room that I purchased for my elderly parents contained an en suite that to use the song lyrics "stank like hell". On informing reception of this, my mother was told that the next time she books she should ask for the manger. I presume that this was to avail of some sort of discount. To conclude, very disappointed that our own industry would treat our own natives this way. Typical example of the industry showing no regard for loyalty our return custom. Rant over. It's still a very scenic location, but their customer care could do with a little refresher.

I had to be in Dungloe today and wow what a positive experience at the Waterfront Hotel. It truly is wonderful. The warmest welcome from Martina a real Host with the Most keeping the front office humming ... Bonnie from housekeeping and Teresa and the great team in the Restaurant. True Donegsl hospitality and the best breakfast I’ve had in ages. Hotels like this make Donegal extra special for visiting. Congrats to the GM ... another Martina .... Keep up the great work !

Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent hotel. Beautiful location overlooking the water. Staff were just so friendly and helpful. Had dinner both nights food really good and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return. Highlight of our trip to dungloe had to be our visit to Cruit Island Golf club. Scenery so stunning with their own beautiful beach.

Food was middling. Nothing mains dish on the menu that didn't have meat except vegetable soup. All quite ordinary. "Seasonal veg" was carrots and parsnips and one floret of broccli which was all cold. Cutlery was sanitized though and seats were spaced well for covid.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for taking the time to visit and review the 4 Star Waterfront Hotel. Thank you for the compliments in relation to sanitization and seats spaced our well for Covid-19. We appreciate your feedback as it is the only way we can improve. In regards to the dinner menu, the hotel offers a selection of non-meat dishes such as vegetarian curry, superfood salad, vegan burgers, Moroccan chickpea tagine and a range of fish dishes. We are disappointed that you were not made aware of these options. We hope that you will visit us again and that you will leave happy. Kindest Regards F. Elliott
