My Mum, Dad, sister, brother-in-law and I stayed in the Waterfront Hotel in Dungloe for a week at the end of July. We have stayed many times before and it feels just like coming home. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They are all excellent at their jobs, always showing an interest in their guests and ensuring that everything is just right. Martina and Christopher deserve special mention. The rooms are small but well appointed. The lounge is very comfortable with couches aplenty and is a lovely place to sit relax, and look at the stunning views over the water. The bar and restaurant serve an excellent variety of locally caught seafood as well as many other foods-choices for everyone. I would recommend this Hotel for a relaxing, enjoyable break. There is lots to do in the area and the scenery is stunning.

It's a beautiful sea front hotel, with lovely views from the Breakfast Room/ Bar.
The beds, pillows and linen are second to none and so very very comfortable, the room was spotlessly clean and very bright.
But the best thing really is the staff I really can't thank them enough for their friendly welcome. From receptionists who were lovely Miraid, Marina, and Martina along with the barman who filled our flask with hot water, supplied tea bags, milk and biscuits, to take with us to the stunning nearby beach at Burton Port to watch the beautiful sunset. A big thanks to the gentleman who helped us with our luggage. They also had live entertainment in the bar unfortunately we had plans to visit family in Bunbeg, but it did sound good, I'll make sure we stay next time.
The breakfast waitress and Chief were also so kind, friendly and welcoming, even though we we arrived at breakfast just 10mins before it finished ! And to top it all Colm went out of his way to bring my daughter 'turf/peat' to bring home for her fire pit, we love the sweet smell of Donegal brings back lovely memories.
Oh and if you are passing through Derrybeg/Bunbeg you have to visit 'The Bakery' a first class Breakfast Brunch/Lunch and home made cakes to die for delicious.
Thank you to the Waterfont Hotel well worth a visit. We will most certainly come back. Merle Gillian Mia and Rosemary.

The staff- bar, chefs, reception and cleaners offer high levels of customer service. However the property is in need of refurbishment. The reception area is not welcoming with out-dated furnishings and more like a walk through corridor. Equally the bar seating and tables have seen better days. The bar needs to have more ambience and celebrate those fab views in order to complement the amazing food served in the evening. Maybe a visit by management to a recently opened establishment in Dungloe would be informative for interior design in order to justify the high room rates.

We stayed here for two nights while travelling round Ireland. The hotel is a modern building with great views across the bay and Dungloe, although otherwise it is a little lacking in character. It is about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Dungloe
We stayed in room 202, the O’Leary Suite. This was very good, with a huge amount of room, split between the bedroom (with views) and a lounge (overlooking a rear car park) The bed was extremely comfortable, while the bathroom had an efficient shower.
Unfortunately, the 106 Atlantic restaurant was closed while we were there, so we ate in the Bar/Bistro. The food was good (particularly seafood, including oysters), but the style and service was more like a bar than a bistro (one waitress complained she had too much to do), so didn’t seem to fit the aspirations of the hotel.
Apart from this, service was polite and efficient

As I know the area (and the hotel when it was called the Ostan na Rossan) very well I was sure what to expect
The rooms were spotless and the breakfast (whilst being a buffet) was perfectly acceptable and plentiful.
Best thing is the location and the fact that you can fully open the windows and enjoy the sea air.
For a corporate hotel very good value indeed

We went here for Sunday carvery. Booked for six adults and two children. Had a lovely experience at the start of our lunch with a waitress called Alice. She was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The Children had a measly portion of goujons and chips. While we were still eating, a waitress appeared at the table .. no apology for interrupting and said ‘I need to query the age of the children’ we were a bit taken aback and asked what she meant. She asked what age the children were. We said they were 10 and 14. To which she replied that the 14 year old would have to pay the adult price of €30 for a tiny portion of goujons and chips because the children rate of €12.50 was for under 12s and that this was printed on the menu. We said we didn’t see a menu and she said it was on the board at the door! This all happened at our table with all the other diners listening! The waitress went to talk to the manager and one of our party went to meet them at the door when they came back so as not to make a fuss in the dining area. The manager was really standoffish and had a couldn’t care less attitude. She reluctantly agreed to charge the €12.50 rate for the 14 year old. The same waitress came back to our table and threw our bill on the table and said we could pay at the bar. None of us have ever experienced customer service like this anywhere! It was so rude and uncalled for!

I attended a conference at the hotel last weekend and we stayed for two nights. The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning and the hotel itself is lovely. The staff were so kind and even made the effort to remember my name, which was really nice. The breakfast and lunch menu had plenty of options and the portions were of a good size. The rooms themselves were very comfortable. I felt very safe staying at the hotel as they provided plenty of hand sanitizer and there was also a digital thermometer in the reception. I will definitely be returning!!!!!

We spent two nights in the Waterfront Hotel, Dungloe for a short midweek break It was a last minute decision and as we had never stayed in this part of Donegal and never been to this hotel we thought we would give it a try. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly receptionist who made the checkin procedure easy and were given a lovely bedroom with patio, (really requested a seaview room but none available) we soon realised that the patio rooms were a better option as the weather was sunny and we were able to enjoy the patio in the evening sunshine. Breakfast was excellent with the usual choices expected of a 4 Star hotel, cereals a plenty, porridge could be requested and was lovely, not a great choice of cold meats/cheese but the cooked breakfast had everything, fried or scrambled egg, black/white pudding, bacon, sausages, hash browns, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, potato bread, toast and as much tea or coffee as you would want, very tasty. On our evening meal selection we had a problem with a steak not cooked as requested and came with skinny chips instead of chunky chips as per menu however the restaurant manager was very understanding and remedied the situation to our satisfaction, she was very apologetic although it was not her fault. We found ALL the staff from all the receptionists, the restaurant staff, the cleaners to the bar staff very pleasant, smiling and all gave the impression that they enjoyed their work which all added to a great experience for the residents. Again, even the checkout was painless and departure was sad in that we would have liked to spend more days/nights in this hotel. The Owners and Management of this hotel can be very proud of their staff as they made our visit a very pleasant experience.

Stayed here for 3 nights in October. Staff were so friendly. I had mentioned it was the better half’s significant birthday and they arranged a lovely desert plate in our room on arrival which was a lovely touch. We had treated ourselves to a suite and it was so big and had everything you could want really happy with it and the bed was so comfortable. We had dinner in the hotel 2 nights and the food was delicious and I just loved the twist on their cocktails they were delicious. Couldn’t fault the breakfast they had everything covered and it was delicious. I loved that they supported local produce and the staff were very knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough to help.

My sister and I went to use the Ballroom toilets, as there was works being carried out in the main reception toilets, we followed the directional signage as displayed by staff. When we got to the toilets we were met by a member of staff who was smoking a cigarette in the corridor. This member of staff questioned what we were doing there, we said we have been directed to these toilets and proceeded to use them. We went to the breakfast room, only to be met by said member of staff who was handling food and stinking of stale tobacco. I find this astounding, as stated on your welcome pack there is €150.00 fine if guests are found to be smoking within the building or outside balconies. This is the second time I have visited this establishment only to be met by rude staff.

Responded 19 Feb 2020
Dear Guest, Many thanks for taking the time to visit and review the Waterfront Hotel. Our reception toilets underwent a refurbishment at the time of your visit and guests were directed to use the ballroom toilets. We are disappointed to learn that a staff member was using the corridor by the exit door to smoke. This has been brought to management level. We hope that we can make it up to you and welcome you back in the future. Kindest regards, F. Elliott

Hi there, I stayed in a junior suite, which is a bit bigger, but I think standard is a little smaller than superior, I'm guessing more sitting space. Alan
I think there is a a laundry service but there is a laundry down the street and if you have a car there is a self service laundromat near the village of Criothli
There are more places to choose from in the Dungloe area.
