Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Was a bit nervous after reading some bad reviews. This hotel is a lovely cozy hotel. The room was great with a beautiful view of the harbour and very clean. There was a nice atmosphere in the bar where we had dinner on both nights. The food was lovely. The staff were very accommodating. We dealt mostly with Ali and she was wonderful with great advice about the area. The location of this hotel is right in the town. We feel this hotel does not deserve the bad reviews it got. Felt very safe staying here during Covid. Ali we are thinking of coming back to see those Christmas Trees.

We were looking forward to going away after so long but were cautious about staying away due to Covid-19. We went into our room (7pm roughly) & quickly realised that the bathroom had not been cleaned!! (Used toilet not flushed, soap opened, towels not fresh) this is really worrying at a time when hygiene is so important. We complained to reception who said they’d send someone to clean it and were very nice but didn’t offer much other than another nights stay for free. I didn’t wish to even stay that night (considered driving 2+ hrs home) so we definitely would not have stayed again. The hotel was really busy so no other rooms were available. We also couldn’t book a table at the restaurant (even though we were staying) and ending up eating in a chippy. The bar was packed on the Saturday night no social distancing. Overall the hotel is dated and in need of an update with the shabby carpets. Breakfast was average and I’ve stayed at nicer hostels. When I got home I contacted the hotel again to highlight these issues but got no response.

This hotel is in need of a full refurb!! Hotel is so grubby and run down. Room was horrendous. Worst I have stayed in! On viewing standard room I asked the lovely girl at reception to view another room as carpet was badly stained and room shabby!! She did kindly let me view few other rooms with same kind of standard! Was then told I could upgrade to harbour view room for an extra 20 euro which I wouldn't have minded paying but room was shabby also. Very disappointed tbh!! Won't even comment on what they call breakfast. The young girl was working on her own in breakfast room doing everything. She was very pleasant even working in those conditions. Will defo not be recommending hotel to anyone. Think the Hotel owner needs to invest some much needed money into this hotel as culd be so good.

I did a long very negative review on this place but it wasn’t posted. So All I’ll say now is stay away from this hotel because the place will ruin your stay. Everything about this place is off putting.

Our room with a separate bathroom was clean, very plain and functional, no mini refrigerator. There's an extra charge for a room with a view of the harbour. After our first day out we returned about 4pm. The room hadn’t been cleaned, bed made or bin emptied. The housekeeper was working in a room opposite so I asked for clean towels as that was all we needed. There were no clean towels on the housekeeping trolly however she immediately went and got clean towels for us. The next day we got fresh towels but the used ones were left in the room, the bin was not fully emptied and the bed wasn’t made up. Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the first floor. The room was bright with great views over the harbour. There was a good choice of cereals, fruit, juices, hot food and tea and coffee and the standard of food was good. Bar food was available in the lounge on the ground floor. There was the usual choices and while nice it was standard fare, filling and reasonably priced. Throughout our stay no staff member wore a face covering. The receptionist station had a perspex screen and hand sanitizer and paper towels were readily available throughout the hotel. The hot breakfast was served by a member of staff to avoid contaminating utensils. The hotel bar served local clientele without observing the requirement for purchasing a substantial meal. By the end of one evening local clientele were sitting in a group of six or seven people without any social distancing.
