I was in a group of 6 specifically attending for a roast. None of us ate a roast because they refused, citing that they'd run out of beef and turkey even though there was plenty of time before they would finish serving said roast. So we ordered other food. I watched my friends eating food while waiting for them to serve me a burger. They all finished eating before I obtained my burger. Don't get me wrong, the burger was nice but I'd waited an hour for my burger after I had arrived and ordered. The organisation in this restaurant is terrible. I did get an apology but it was too little too late. I won't be returning because the service is really bad and I just wanted a chilled afternoon.
I have used The Bayview on many occasions with my family for food and decided to have an overnight stay with my wife.Staff cant do enough for you, room had seaview and was clean and spacious and the food is delicious and do a great pint of Guinness. 5 out of 5
Used as a base for cycling and hiking in the area. Didn’t spend much time in the hotel but seemed ok - a bit dated but overall clean and comfortable. I had a really Large room with a great view of the street and harbour, however the noise of the harbour getting going at 5.30am woke my friend so maybe get a room at the back if you are a light sleeper. One gripe we both had that the heat was shocking (it wasn’t warm weather- just central heating I guess) and the Windows only opened slightly so it was difficult to sleep. Bathroom was a good size and the shower was good. Breakfast was ok, usual buffet, a bit basic. The coffee was really bad though. Overall quite good value if it wasn’t for the stifling heat in the room, but would probably look at other options in the area if I was going there again. …
We had a very enjoyable 3 night midweek stay in the bay view hotel in beautiful killybegs. We booked a room with panoramic views over the harbour which is Ireland's premier fishing port. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and also had some delicious and wholesome food in the bar.every staff member from reception to the bar and also at breakfast time were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The Donegal people are just so lovely. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a very relaxed and comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The staff in the hotel ,we're super efficient, friendly very pleasant. The Manager Seamus is a gentleman he has a great rapport with his staff and guests. The bedrooms were perfect, beds comfy lovely evening meal delicious, and breakfast superb ,absolutely could not fault this hotel 10 of of 10 all round. The Hotel was Immaculate very homely, warm and very welcoming.
Lovely stay at the Bay View Hotel for 3 nights. Really clean hotel and the staff were all very welcoming. Breakfast each morning was very nice and the lady working there couldn’t do enough for us. The bar was well run and staff were always checking if we needed another drink. Check out is 12pm which is great too
We went to the hotels restaurant as a family of 3 with our 18 month old son - the staff were very helpful and attentive, in particular one lady who said she was on her first day back from maternity leave (not sure of name). Fish & chips were really good but husband for a burger which seemed like it had been previously cooked and reheated. It was dry and very tough on the outside. Kids nuggets and chips were ok but again nuggets seemed refried/ reheated. It's a pity that the food wasnt great as the atmosphere and view was lovely and the staff were brilliant too.
Booked a two night stay at the Bayview, enjoyed our experience so much we stayed another two nights. Great friendly staff they were brilliant would like to give thanks to Joanne, Sharon and Edeen for there hospitality, professionalism and friendliness. Stayed in a superior room with seaview which was lovely. Breakfast and food served was great, staff made the experience so comfortable and friendly. Credit due folks!
We've been going to Killybegs for years and had yet another great stay at the Bayview Hotel. The staff are friendly, the food is lovely, the hotel itself is clean and homely. We stayed on the second floor, which has been redecorated, our room was very comfortable. The manager Seamus is a great host as are all of his great staff! Killybegs is a great town from which to visit such sites as Slieve League, Fintry beach, Glencolmcille, Maghera beach and caves, Donegal Town, etc. There's a great boat trip that leaves from the harbour each day. We never tire from visiting Killybegs and look forward to staying in the Bayview once more!!
