I stayed here for one night on my way back towards the airport. The location is decent with close access to the golden circle route, and only an hour from the Blue Lagoon. The room was very basic, and a little drafty, and the corridors had the feel of a 'dorm' a little bit. However, the breakfast was very good...

We stayed in 4 hotels in Iceland and this one was our least favourite. The rooms are very dated. We were given a room upstairs and it was a decent job to lug our heavy bags up the narrow stairs. We were also a long way from the restaurant and although there was an enclosed walkway between the buildings it...

This was our fourth hotel on our tour of the south coast. The staff were very good & polite. The rooms comfortable, if a little dated. But the beds were comfortable and very quiet, so we had an excellent night sleep. Breakfast was OK with the usual cereal, ham, cheese and a waffle machine for fresh waffles. No northern lights...

Overall we did not like this hotel. It was partly due to weather (we were there during a very windy time); the room was a little drafty. The corridor with the glass looked very nice but was awfully cold due to the wind. The room was average. No phone in the room, could use a little updating. Noise carried a...

Stayed here for one night after visiting the Golden circle on the way south. Hotel quite reasonable if not a little old fashioned inside. Beds were fine, bathroom basic and overall minimal. Good heating. The hotel has hot tubs which is nice. Meals good probably a little pricey compared to elsewhere. Breakfast also fine but basic. Quite a distance from...

Stayed here for 3 nights in Jan. It's really located in a very isolated place around 20km from Selfoss, which is your best hope of finding any reasonably priced food. Prices in the restaurant in the hotel are completely outrageous, although a fairly mediocre breakfast is included in the room rates. Staff are quite friendly and helpful in giving tips...

We stayed here for a night as part of our Iceland package & enjoyed our stay. Very good location for watching northern lights. The hotel is away from the hustle & bustle of cities & hence good chance of seeing northern lights from here. As said above, do not expect any markets nearby so get your shopping done earlier. Room...

Stayed at Fosshotel Hekla during our 2week self drive trip that my husband and i booked with fosshotels. On the way to Fosshotel Hekla, we had a flat tyre, upon check-in, we called our car rental company for help however, the car rental guy could not speak English welland the very nice lady at reception offered to speak to him...

The chef at breakfast was very rude and condescending toward both staff and hotel guests. For example, We asked if they had oats and he rudely replied NO then walked off. Other issues would be the noise of trying to figure out how to lock the door. Several people seemed to have that issue. Otherwise the hotel is great. Dinner...
