Stayed at the Foss hotel Hekla. Foss being a hotel chain in Iceland. Have been staying in small owner run hotels till now and didn't know what we would think of a chain. It was very nice and would recommend. Were four of us. Three adults and a 15 year old. We had a family room. One large room with...

We stayed at this hotel for one night, the room was cozy and warm. The breakfast was the best that we had while in Iceland, and was included in the hotel room price. It was clean, but the shower drain was clogged. If not for that than it would be a five for sure!

We stayed here one night on a tour. The hotel and staff were clean, with cozy bar and nice restaurant. The hot tub and sauna were very nice for relaxing. The room we had was small and very dated however. Judging from the website, it looks like rooms may vary quite a bit.

We only stayed one night. The hot tub was broken. The TV in the room is an old tube, high up in the corner with very few stations to watch, so there is not much use. They promise on the website that all rooms have bathrobes and slippers, tea and coffee. This was not to be found in the room....

Loved our stay here. The standard rooms were typical Icelandic - smaller and slightly dated looking. Upgraded to a suite and it was fantastic!! Modern decor. Two large, comfortable chairs. The dining room is relaxing at night and bright and sunny for breakfast. Food is fresh and high quality. only downside is at dinner the menu did not offer any...

Positives: nicely decorated dining hall, very friendly staff and quiet location(if u dont get a room underneath the dining hall) Negatives: Rooms underneath the dining hall are noisy and if you want to get an early night, forget it. Limited menus for both dinner and breakfast, typical icelandic issue, but they are isolated and a fairly small hotel so it...

Positives: comfortable bed and very nice location. Negatives: I know you dont go on holiday to watch tv, but they only have 4 stations-2 news and 2 cartoons. No safe or phone in the room (its only 3 stars and thats a 4 star luxury we were told). Small, overpriced (even for iceland)menu at the restaurant. No northern lights wake up...

We spent two nights at the Fosshotel Hekla while visiting this most amazing country. We arrived late, in the rain, after a long drive on the wrong side of the road. The receptionist greeted us warmly and the room was excellent. While the day-time views were somewhat limited, we enjoyed a spectacular Northern Lights display from the balcony on our...

Based on Foss Hotel Eastfjords, we stayed the next night in Foss Hekla; Good sleep, but truly outdated rooms and facilities; 1 cubic meter TV with twoandahalfchannel; no fridge, to little space in the bathroom to put ones stuff; normal breakfast, and 2 hot tubs, that, huh? 1 cold tub and 1 luke warm tub !! And this whilst the...
