We have recently come back from spending 3 nights at the Hotel Grimsborgir, and fully enjoyed our stay. All staff encountered were extremely friendly, including the reception staff and waitresses. Hana at dinner was particularly friendly and helpful. One morning we asked about shop opening times and before we knew it, a member of reception had printed off a map...

My girlfriend and I stayed here at the beginning of February in a Studio Apartment. The hotel is of a very high standard and the all the communal areas (Bar , restaurant etc ...) were immaculate. The staff at the hotel were brilliant, Martin who was the first person we met there was very helpful and an absolute credit to...

My wife and me were at Hotel Grimsborgir last week, its a beautiful hotel. The family owned hotel is located perfectly for people who want to see the northern lights. Very well managed, only thing missing was litlle more vegetarian food option as we are vegetarians. The fire place near the bar is a really cute corner for a drink...

We stayed at the Grimsborgir for my husbands 40th birthday from 15-17th January 2016. I booked the luxury weekend special and we had an amazing weekend, hotel was spotlessly clean and the food served in the restaurant was delicious. Our room was beautiful which included private outdoor hot tub. Drinking wine in the hot tub while it's snowing - it...

My trip to Iceland was for my birthday and we were recommended the Grimsborgir by our agent. It delivered all that we wanted and more. We love to stay in interesting or very nice accommodations when we travel, and searching online I had a hard time finding anything in Iceland that looked like it met our standards. And then we found the Grimsborgir. This is a FABULOUS family owned hotel in the country outside Reykavik. We stayed in a deluxe four bedroom apartment which was...

We did drive 90km from Keflavik to join New Year's Eve in this place and it was like an oasis in the desert! It looks great and then you are conducted to your suite and you find the kingdom of cleanliness and a spacious place! Then we went back to reception to have a drink near the fireplace then a...

This hotel was not so much a hotel as a house. A very comfortable, cozy one. We had a serviced villa with 4 bedrooms (even though there were only two of us) and it exceeded our expectation with regards to accommodation. The open plan kitchen, dining, living area was comfortable with every possible requirement met. The hot tub outside was...

Our extended family had the four bedroom cottage and enjoyed the snow covered setting, the cozy scandinavian designed cottage (light hardwood floors, white kitchen, big windows with ledges) and the hot tub on the snowy nights. Breakfast had a lot of selection; dinner was expensive but also had a great buffet selection. The staff were extremely helpful and mapped out...

Stayed as a family of four for two nights in December 2015. Given the 4 hours of daylight at this time of year we didn't actually experience/ see the hotel other than at nighttime, so can't comment on the location. Our room was in one of the chalet-style lodges, which are spacious, decorated in a modern, slightly-more-luxious-than-Ikea style, and very...
