My family and I spent one (1) night at the Hotel Grimsborgir in early September and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We paid ~$350 for one (1) night which is not to off from the average hotel cost. The hotel is quite remote and that's a good thing as it is peaceful. We arrived in the afternoon and checked in at the...

Beautiful location, wonderful staff. Plenty of hot tubs! I called ahead and asked if they had any vegan options for dinner and they ended up making me a wonderful nut roast with cauliflower, ruccola and grilled carrot strings (I think). The entertainment was provided by some old local rock legends who swept everyone in the room off their feet! I...

This hotel was good in some regards but failed on others. The staff were friendly, the rooms were tidy but didn't quite have the feel of a luxury hotel room. The restaurant looked to be made to cater for big tour groups and the one dinner we had there was disappointing. Overall the hotel fell short on character for what...

Friendly staff and the most astounding location. The rooms are lovely and we are sat outside in a hot tub watching satellites fly across the night sky. Heaven! The food is exceptional and varied. Drinks are very expensive so stock up in duty free on the trip over.

We arrived at the hotel at 9:20 pm after a 16 hour journey, we were greeted well at the reception and escorted to our rooms. The rooms were spacious and warm with beautiful terraces attached but unfortunately we did not get to see the northern lights. The only disappointment was the shower which overflowed hence the water came into the...

We stayed for three nights on our arrival in Iceland, booked through Discover the World so I don't know exactly how much we paid as it was part of a package. Quite glad about that really as I probably would have been horrified! We received a friendly welcome on arrival (thumbs up to all the staff as well) and were...

We stayed in one of the 4 bedroom apartments for 2 nights of our recent holiday with our teenage family. We had a very nice email from the hotel when confirming the apartment and so were very much looking forward to staying here. The apartment was very spacious, nicely designed, clean and pretty well equipped. We had a hot tub...

There are two really excellent things about this hotel... where it is situated in the Golden Circle and that due to it being away from the town you have a very good chance of seeing the Northern lights. Apart from that it is really strange and very overpriced. We arrived at 3am with 4 children after a 12 hr journey,...

We stayed for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon trip to Iceland. Treated ourselves to a junior suite, which was beautiful and spacious, with a door leading straight outside to the hot-tubs. We arrived slightly early but were able to check in straight away and shown round to our room. The rooms are in lodge-style buildings separate from the...

We stayed as a family for 3 nights whilst attending our sons wedding close by. On arrival at 4pm our room was not ready but we were given tea and coffee while we waited. We had a 4 bed apartment which was beautiful. Outside lighting didn't appear to work but that wasn't an issue for us. There were a few...
