Good- Beautifully designed hotel, loved the welcome drink, outdoor pool was fun (even in 20mph winds at night) the rooms/beds were comfortable. Dinner at hotel was surprisingly delicious. Bad- Since near a power station the entire area has a very strong suffer smell (much more than our other hotels in geothermal areas), alt road in winter is a bit treacherous...

The website for the hotel makes it look amazing, the reviews sometimes make you question whether you made the right choice. We reserved a deluxe king room, which was clean and inviting. It was on the significantly smaller side of all the rooms we stayed in during our trip to Iceland, the bathroom was even smaller. They offered on site...

the staff is very friendly, the room is small but very clean. The room provide I pad. The northern light bar has a very good view. The only one thing needs to improve is that the spa water temperature is too cold.

We were VERY disappointed with the hotel. After a 13 km winding road in the sunshine (cannot imagine driving it in snowy conditions), we arrived at the hotel. An electrical plant is very close by! When we asked about the "adventurous" activities, we were told that hiking was nearby. The closest town is an hour drive unless it snows &...

We had an amazing time at the Ion. From start to finish everything was great. The drive up to the hotel was incredible and felt like a James Bond mission. Perfectly located just enough off the beaten path but still easy to get to from the airport and downtown. Make sure to grab dinner or drinks at the northern lights...

Interesting place to stay. 12 km from thingvellir park. Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Food is over priced which is to be expected. Good location. It snowed heavily on our way to the hotel but we drove a 4 wheel car and it made our lives super easy. Good bar at the hotel and very good views...

We stayed at 4 separate hotels on our short trip to Iceland and this came in third behind the Silica and the Ranga but ahead of the Radison Blue Saga. We dropped on good weather so the drive was fine in our little Suzuki car. The scenery was simply stunning driving up. The hotel had a very chilled feeling, our...

We as a group of 8 had a tour of Iceland in early February 2017. We booked in a few hotels around Iceland and then with a local tour guide took us around sightseeing. Stop over during the night in the booked hotel. Most of the hotels off great services like Ranga Hotel, Radisson Hotel in Reykjavik etc. However Ion...

First off, getting to the ION from the Reykavik airport is not an easy task. A cab is about 300 ISK and the roads were too icy from the storm for us to rent a car. I called the ION asking for suggestions as to the best, most efficient way to get to them and they could not have been...
