Stayed with friends when we were in southern Iceland visiting Jokulsarlon and Skaftafell, rooms had all we needed, warm, comfortable and clean, we were lucky enough to see the northern lights, though they were spilt a little be some guest leaving their room lights on and curtains open. We didn't eat in the evening in the hotel but breakfast buffet...

Our second night was quiet yet riveting. We enjoyed the country feel to being so far out from the city with no one around you for miles. We saw the Northern Lights dancing but were showing in a sparkling grey color instead of green. Rooms- Very basic but had what you needed and were nice and clean. Shower was extremely...

Location: about 20-30 min drive from Kirkjubaejarklaustur (also the nearest town with gas station), and it’s good for those doing the glacier / ice caves at Skaftafell the next day. The entrance is easy to miss during winter due to snow, so drive slowly when approaching the hotel. Rooms: Nordic minimal and small, but clean and comfortable. Rooms had a...

The location of this hotel make up for the less attractive part. It is surrounded by beautiful landscape. I had rooms facing the mountain and the full transparent doors and windows looking out was awesome. You can wake up to a gorgeous sunrise right by the bed. The internet is slow and breakfast unexciting but that's fine for the views...

We were traveling around in South Iceland for several days. This a relatively remote, under populated area of Iceland. When we drove up to the hotel, its "curb apeal" was NOT! It is located in the middle of nowhere and not particularly attractive on the outside. The inside is a different story as it is quite comfortable, warm, modern and...

The room was great. We had a snowstorm that day and was stranded in the hotel. The staff prepared lunch and invited us to eat up on the house. They also provided shovels to help with clearing the snow for our departure.

A great location for travelling round the south of Iceland. It realy is in the midddle of no-where but right by route 1. Helpful staff with comfortable rooms - voted best breakfast location (of 4) by our 'kids' (aged 22-28) - primarily due to the waffle maker.

This is an ugly building of long low blocks from the outside, but once inside, is warm, comfortable and modern and very clean. The rooms are a very good size with plenty of space. Beds are very comfortable but with only one pillow. This was remedied with the help of Ghisli on reception who got extra pillows and fresh milk...

We just stayed here one night. The room was fairly basic, but had everything we needed. We ate dinner at the restaurant which was delicious (we had two courses more than enough, however if you just want soup the portion is small). Breakfast was good. Staff were helpful. Also the happy hour bar was good value.

This hostel-like hotel is clean and functional. We were glad that we had dinner before arriving as the restaurant looked quite grim. The wifi doesn't work in the hotel which was quite an issue for us as there was also no mobile signal - we couldn't check and book for our tours the next day. Overall no thrills. Breakfast was...
