Only spent a short time at this hotel~ sadly Arrived on day 1 of our Iceland trip, only arrived at hotel at 9ish at night as flight landed at 8 and took just over an hour through a snow storm. Staffs were helpful on arrival, helped us to ring around the place to look for food place that is still... More

The rooms are simple but are clean, have all you need, and most importantly are warm! The staff are really friendly and helpful. An easy drive from the airport, takes between 1-2 hours. There is a nice hike to the hot springs and a lovely outdoor pool in the town. The breakfast is good with a wide range of hot... More

Spend three night and loved this place. The hot springs were used for cooking!!! The rooms were small but comfortable the restaurant was pricey and we were required to have the fixed menu. The Christmas menu was more of a chef tasting style and was $95. The meats were duck, goose, reindeer and fish. The deserts were beautiful and the... More

Top quality dining in fairly surreal surroundings, rooms perfectly adequate, warm and dry! You will want to cook your eggs in the vent out the front of the hotel, and eat as much of the bread as you can it is totally delicious! All of the food was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here... More

We had 3 nice, clean, spacy rooms with bathroom and own balcony. Hottubs outside. Good breakfast. Dinner really tasteful (meat&vega) and well prepared. Some products by slowcooking on the hotspring. Location a bit difficult to find; on the mainroad follow the signs Restaurant Varma. Would come back

Our room backed onto the river, we could see the thermal vents on the otherside and it was a short walk across the bridge next to hotel to get here, room was comfy and spacious. We made use of the two hot tubs that they have which was nice. We had a little balcony too, had slight damage to floor... More

Our room was comfortable and spacious enough with some nice touches e.g. robes and flip flops for using the outdoor hot tubs and pool. We are not hardy souls so at minus 10 we didn't didn't give them a try but the youngsters in adjoining chalet rooms enjoyed some time in the hot water in the evenings. The highlight of... More

A fantastic hotel/guest house, the rooms are lovely, the restaurant is lovely fine dining, expensive but worth it, we got a 8 course Christmas dinner menu, was yummy! The pool and hot tub are lovely, better when it isn't windy! I highly recommend the walk to the hot river. The staff are great too, the head waiter (ot manager) is... More

Perfectly placed to see the sights in this area. On arrival down the frozen steep slope park your car wherever you can, wrap up warm and slip your way to the reception at the bottom of the hill closest to the river, take the family with you and prepare to be warmly greeted and taken to your room with a...
