I stayed for two nights in Villa Thalatta. The decor was rustic but well kept and lovely. The manager/owner was frienfly and helpful. The location of Villa Thalatta is perfect. I had a lovely little holiday in Villa Thalatta and would gladly stay there again.
The villa was exactly what we expected from an old villa: lovely and unique but nothing fancy. You can expect no air conditioning or great sound proof but on the other hand I'd stay here over a normal hotel room anytime for the experience and atmosphere! We stayed in Thalatta in a room for three with a sea view. The room was clearly recently renovated, big and airy and had nice style to it. The toilets and showers are shared with several other rooms but at least for us there was no queuing for either. Everything was clean and seemed maintained. We'll be back :)
Stayed here Midsummer 2019 with friends and family. This Villa definitely has charm - not the sleek kind but the kind that comes with age, hot Summers and stormy Falls. We had beautiful rooms and would spend evenings sitting at one of the big verandas. Staff was really friendly & helpful. Breakfast room is so beautiful but unfortunately during our stay the windows were under renovation and temporarily replaced by plastic. Also, we were a little disappointed with the breakfast, maybe something could be learned from the neighbors at Villa Maija :)
Pensionat Tellina is an old but charming villa at the seaside of Hanko old town. The villa was build in late 19th century. Just like the villa itself, also the lady in the reception was welcoming and especially relaxed which made us want to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere even more. We were lucky to have the best room in the villa. Clean, recently renovated. Perfect views to the sea at front. Lot's of big windows to many directions. No curtains, but we didn't miss any additional privacy this time as the seaview was mesmerizing. There were sleeping eye patches on the table just in case. En suite bathroom (unlike in other rooms). There was no air conditioning, only separate fan so the room became quite hot after the sunny day. Keeping the windows open helped to tolerate the heat. Absolute gem. Love it. I don't remember the exact price but surely it was affordable enough. Worth the cost anyway. Highly recommended.…
The staff is super-nice and the room included a smaller room with windows on two walls to the sea and the beach. This has a better view than other villas with the possible exception of Bellevue. Overnighting in old villas is something you have to do while in Finland. The city is very close, yet you can wake-up hearing the waves of the sea crashing to the beach nearby. However, I have to warn you, the walls are thin, so if there are noisy guests, the night may be noisy. It has also its own ghost, but she likes to stay in the tower and does not bother the guests. That is a good call, I also promised to spend my afterlife there.
We have visited this pensionat every summer and will come back. It is located right in the center of Hanko. Next to the beach. Next to the shopping street. Next to the Casino and tennis courts. Rooms are basic, but clean. You can select a room with sea view (if available). Breakfast is included and it was very good (tipical scandinavian breakfast). Be prepared to share toilet and shower since the rooms do not have own toilets or showers.
