Nice, clean hotel with modernised rooms. Terrace bar closed well before official closing time. Also, no room service as far as I can tell and no room fridge / bar. Enjoyed a nice lobster dinner nearby so should make it through the night. The hotel has an original part and some recent additions closer to the shore. The spa is detached from the original hotel (across the street) so I assume one must walk over to enjoy it. Generally Finnish hotels suck so this is ok.
The beautiful old art deco style building where Hotel Regatta is located has been beautifully restored in detail. Our standard room was reasonably small but sufficient with comfortable beds and air conditioning. The bath room is spacious and properly equipped. The staff at the reception and restaurants was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant design and atmosphere is nice and cosy and our three course dinner was excellent considering the price-quality ratio. Breakfast was exceptionally good and versatile and a big plus during the summer is the option to enjoy breakfast outdoors at the inner courtyard. Across the street is the sleek and modern indoor swimming hall and spa but we preferred to take a swim in the Baltic sea as the sandy beach is right in front of the hotel. At the same you can enjoy the beautiful Finnish archipelago.…
We had a business trip and had booked our reservation for 3 nights in hotel’s premium rooms at Regatta Spa Hotel almost a half year before. When we arrived the hotel, the receptionist told us that they had double-booked our rooms and we could stay for only 2 nights! The receptionist did not give any other options how we could stay in Hanko, and coldly said that ”this was a human error they sometimes have and some of their workers have changed our reservations” and they cannot do anything! They promised us to try to find a solution, but no one ever contacted us! After we had waited and repeatedly asked for a solution how we could stay, we had to re-schedule our trip and go back home a day before planned. The hotel never offered any refund for their mistake, and the service was very cold and machinery, which is very unacceptable for a this level hotel! I will never come back to this hotel and can’t recommend to anyone!…
Hotel itself has been nicely and stylishly refurbished and decorated. We had superior room and junior suite, both beautiful, spacy rooms. Unfortunately our overnight experience was disappointment as the air conditioning in the junior suite in practise does not work at all and when heat wave has hit Finland in this summer I cannot recommend junior suite, it’s impossible to sleep. In the superior room it instead worked well. I missed small fridgerator from rooms. Breakfast was tasty but bread selection unfortunately minimal. Great hotel but some improvement needed.
Regatta Spa Hotel was contemporary and clean. Our superior room with kitchenette was too and its air conditioning was excellent. The staff were lovely and willing to serve. Covid-19 situation was very well taken into account: the hotel offered masks, and there was hand sanitizer available everywhere. This hotel was also almost only place in Hanko where staff used masks. Due to a small breakfast area, hotel visitors were divided into scheduled times which was good. The hotel’s location and free parking were also very nice. We recommend this hotel for pleasure!
Hotel is located in a walking distance of major sights of Hanko. Building itself is a piece of art, renovated with style and rooms are very well equipped. Hotel staff is very service oriented and very nice. Breakfast buffet is set beautifully and food is tasty.
Had my mother's birthday trip to Hanko. Our room was located on the top floor and it was quite large but not very cosy. The beds were good. The bathroom and the entire room was clean. Breakfast and, in fact, the restaurant over all had really high quality food.
Visiting the hotel and brasserie. Food was excellent and also atmosphere was really nice.Price of the food was decent and hotel pricing for the quality was good. Service was good. Hotel rooms were cosy and quiet.Service at reception was nice and helpful.
We've just returned from an excellent weekend in one of Finland's prettiest seaside locations - Hanko. We stayed at the Regatta hotel because it looked like it was recently renovated. We weren't disappointed. The junior suite was well worth the extra investment and our room looked out to the sea - a lovely view. The staff were very professional but really friendly and the food was excellent. At various times, we enjoyed the entrecote, the burger and the caesar salad with chicken all were delicious. The hotel is right across the road from the seaside and also an excellent spa. All in all, a brilliant place to stay for a lazy weekend. Worthy of five stars
We spent a night at the hotel, with 2 grandchildren and 2 dogs. Even the dogs were welcome: treats, blankets, a water bowl and plastic bags were waiting in our room. The room was modern and clean, and included a small kitchen. The beds - even the extra beds for the children - were comfortable ,and seemed rather new. The breakfast was of a good normal standard. There is a 150 meter walk to the spa, which is new and stylish, and the staff was very friendly. The view from the pool is impressive, the sea is right on the other side of a glass wall. I can recommend the hotel - but, of course, the real season to visit would be during summer, not in February.
