We went because of the lonely planet recommendation. The hostel looks abandoned and in poor conditions. The room was clean. The toilet not that much at the arrival but they are cleaned in the morning. You can find chickens running in the corridor and in the roof. The kitchenette doesn't have a sink and tap which makes it unusable. The...

This was a pretty basic place. We got a double room with two beds for Q70 in total which was pretty good. However when we came back from our trek a fee days later they tried to charge Q90... There was nothing in the room and the place has no WIFI. There are two showers but water pressure in one...

It was a clean, safe, cheap place to stay, but I was a little disappointed based on the review in the Moon handbook. There was no wifi in the hostel, there was no pingpong (I was looking forward to that!) and there wasn't really any place to hang out except a sofa and a tv in the hallway. Because I...

Rooms are basic but clean, no wifi at the hotel but the restaurant a few doors down has some, the food was good. They could really use a kitchen for the budget travelers. The roof top has potential but I think someone is living up there right now. No one, I mean no one in Nebaj speaks English, be warned....

Agree with a previous review this isn't exactly "spiffy" as per lonely plant, but it's cheap, the bed was comfy and the bathrooms moderately clean. There's 2 showers although one doesn't work, the water's not hot but it's not cold either. I can't grumble about the price! Only problem I had was I couldn't find the place - save yourself...

Listed first under lodging for Nebaj and called the town's "spiffiest" hostel by Lonely Planet, we decided to give it a try. There were three of us on a motorcycle trip and we only had enough time for one night in Nebaj. We checked in at El Descanso and were brought to our room in the hostel down the street....

This hostel is associated with El Desconso a block down the street - where you check in. It consists of two dorm rooms (at Q35/person = $5) and a couple of private rooms (at Q45/person = $6). All rooms share two bathrooms with instant-on "warm showers" (though one was not working when we were there). The beds are reasonably comfortable...

The hostel is down the street from the restaurant, and when I was there I was the only one so it was very quiet. The bunk beds were comfy and the bathrooms clean, plus I had my own key to the entrance and the bedroom. There is no reception or night guard, so you will be alone. There's also no...

Although MediaLuna MedioSol has some upsides, it was not the ideal time for us to have visited. The street in front was in the process of being paved (not their fault, I know), so there was a lot of dust and noise. Dorm rooms have paper thin walls, mattresses. If available, take the room away from the street just down...

“there is a private room right beside the washroom that looked good, other than that, just dorms with small windows.”

“The room on the street is furthest from the roosters that live downstairs, but then you have to contend with the dogs barking outside. Take your pick; you'll probably hear both starting around 5-6:00 am.”
