My plan for vacation in Costa Rica centered around bicycling, and after some reseach I decided on the Lake Arenal area.Chosing Casa Manana B&B was easy because the rates where reasonable and the full breakfest seemed to be just what I needed. I booked the stand alone cabina about four months in advance, and in that time I had a many E-mail communications with Alex and Laura. They were always prompt and very helpful with all my questions. Many of their suggestions went a long way toward making my vacation go off with out any problems. The Breakfeast was more than expected, I felt so catered to and as a cyclist the morining meal sustained me on rides lasting hours! The room was spacious and clean, bright and colorful. The views where fantastic.I felt very safe.
This was one of the best accommodations for the price. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, with a HUGE shower. The breakfasts that were prepared each morning were PHENOMENAL!!! I haven't eaten such delicious and fresh food at some 5 star restaurants. The only negative aspect is the location to Volcano Arenal and many of the adventure trips done through Fortuna (about 1 1/2 hours away), but if you have your own car it's not too bad.
This is a jewel of a B & B in the mountains of Tilaran overlooking Lake Arenal. Centrally situated, so it is close to all the activities in the area, but you are able to escape the touristy feel of La Fortuna and just relax if you choose. Tilaran is our favorite town in Costa Rica so far and this is by far one of our favorite places to stay. The host, Alex, makes certain every need is attended to. We chose to stay in the cabina and it was lovely, with a huge shower with a bench and real hot water! (Travel in Costa Rica for awhile and you will know why this is exciting!) Huge breakfasts, lovely company, great views - a perfect 10!
