Very friendly staff!! One of the best views of Lake Arenal!! Great food, nice bar, and cute bungalow rooms with this view! These rooms also have mosaic tubs and most have a queen and a twin bed. I’ve heard that this area is the best windsurfing area on the lake just across the street and down the road a bit.
We stopped here after a week-long vacation. We stayed at several overpriced places (like toad Hall. Don't go there!) and wanted something reasonable. We met Daniel from Romania and he was very helpful. He gave us great recommendations and we tried the Schnitzel and the homemade sausage. They were both excellent (so was the homemade dessert). This place is right across the street from the Macadamia, but you might miss it. I wish we would have stayed here instead of some of the other expensive places. Definitely make it a stop when you visit the lake.
The restaurant at Rock River Lodge is great! The owners are so friendly and easy to be around. The food is delicious and homemade using only the most fresh and pure ingredients. The coffee there is the best I've ever had! I drank twice as much as I normally would. They also make some of the most incredible desserts. At breakfast, there were monkeys in the trees right outside the window. The view from the property is fantastic and looks out over Arenal Lake. We stayed in a bungalow there for more than a week and never wanted to leave. Each bungalow is very nice and private with spectacular views. I very highly recommend Rock River Lodge!!!
The Restaurant is under New Management. Dianne and Steve have updated the menu and created a new vibe. Treat yourself to one of Dianne's delicious meals. A must stop when in the Arenal Area. Enjoy your meal while viewing the Awesome scenery of Lake Arenal and surrounding mountains.
The sign says"GRINGO GRUBB" though we love Costa Rican food..sometimes you just want something from home! Food is excellent...never been disappointed with the good and excellent service..easy to find signs giving info on where to look...it is on route 142... Another great place is across from the Rocks...
