We didn’t stay at the resort, so can’t speak as to that. However, we stopped here and had beer and food. Absolutely fantastic! The beer was good and the food was even better. The fried avocados are a must have! The salmon was also delicious with the pineapple glaze sauce. Highly recommend!
We don't really write reviews but wanted to express how truly wonderful this place is. We stopped in for a beer and a snack and left 4 days later, and only because we had to fly out the next day. JP and Dana are the ultimate hosts. Veronica, Jason, and Jorge highlight an amazing staff that absolutely provides Good Beer, Good Food, and Good Times. And who can forget Tia. A short walk through the jungle for a first class massage is pretty cool. It was all a truly memorable experience. Cant wait to make it back. Danny and Jen
We just returned last night from a wonderful 3 night stay at the Lake Arenal Hotel & Brewery. The staff could not have been more amazing! They gave us great recommendations on where to go and things to see. They were very flexible with the menu due to diatary requirements as well. Just really great people that we enjoyed talking with. The view from the hotel is also amazing!
Let me tell you all about Lake Arenal Hotel and Brewery and how they basically saved my life. I was driving from La Fortuna to Monteverde during the off-season with my four-year old daughter and we stopped for a snack and potty break at Lake Arenal Hotel and Brewery. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a terrific craft beer list, reminiscent of my favorite craft breweries in Colorado, and I was disappointed that I couldn't order any because we had to get back on the road. BUT THEN We got back on the road and not even two miles away, the transmission died on my car. My phone couldn't make local calls for some reason. I don't speak Spanish. It was the side of a twisty road. It was getting dark. This story is starting to make me look like an idiot. But I managed to contact my sister-in-law, who was a couple hours down the road, and she got in touch with Lake Arenal Hotel and Brewery so we could go there and stay the night. John, the proprietor, drove out to pick us up, towed our car to a neighbor's, and the following day helped us get in touch with Enterprise, yelling at them in Spanish because I could not. I'm so glad we got a surprise stop at Lake Arenal Hotel and Brewery. I got to enjoy their amazing beer at my leisure. The food was good, too. I think there was some kind of fancy dessert. Since it was the off-season, there were very few people. In the morning, we explored the little paths through the trees and fields. The view of the lake and surrounding area is gorgeous. The place is also a sustainability education center, and we saw evidence of that everywhere. We had the pool to ourselves as I taught my daughter to swim and we listened to some weird sound that sounded like a pig, a dog, and a motorcycle all at the same time, which we learned were howler monkeys. Boy, are they loud. My kid played with a local kid despite not speaking each others' languages. I felt very adventurous, and the whole episode seemed a little surreal. I would definitely go back, probably with more planning ahead.…
