My experience was much like everyone else's. I found it a lovely welcoming, quiet little oasis. The property is in a walled-off compound in Patan, which is much quieter than Kathmandu. There's a lovely garden and a beautifulmain house, as well as a pretty guest block. The rooms are spacious and charming. The staff is helpful, although most don't speak... More

Out from the bustle of the city, and close to the airport, Summerhill House made an excellent landing and jumping off point for a recent visit to Nepal. A homely atmosphere and a genuine Nepali welcome go together with the efficiency and reliability needed to help me make my connections to and from Kathmandu and Pokhara in the middle of... More

We found Summerhill House on TripAdvisor as we were planning our time in Nepal. We were very impressed with the reviews and decided to book our first week there. We were not disappointed. The house is situated in a lovely garden setting down a very quiet lane. Our room was located in a separate block from the house, just a... More

I arrived in Nepal last May 30 for a special assignment with an INGO. I was there for only three nights on May 30th and July 15 and 16 on my way back to my country. I have spoken to the owner and he mentioned that it really used to be their home and they turned it to a hotel.... More

The house is clean, hostile waiters, room also tidy, and breakfast was OK. My office along with Caritas rent all of the room for us to stay there and it was great. Although it is located in middle of housing complex with narrow road, but the house is good.

I happen to be near Kathmandu for a conference during the Earthquake and as I work for a humanitarian agency my job was to immediately switch over the task and find a place where my other colleagues may join me for an emergency response. Finding this place was a sheer luck; and it proved to be an oasis. Even at... More

Had the opportunity to really test the place out on all fronts. Stayed here for over 15 days on the earthquake relief response in Nepal. Lovely quaint little place tucked away in the insides - it would make good sense to ask the Summerhill House to pick you up from the airport if you are new to the place. The... More

We as a group of 8 stayed a total of 6 nights, during April at Summerhill. The hosts and their staff were always very friendly, helpful and accommodating to our needs. The meals were very enjoyable and reflected the local cuisine. Hostess/owner Purnima was a wealth od information regarding where to source local arts and crafts of quality. The property... More

Summerhill House is a charming guesthouse located in a small side road in Ekantakuna, Lalitpur. Not very easy to find - but if you come from the airport, take their offer for an airport pick-up. The guesthouse has a nice garden, some lovely woodwork on the house and nicely arranged rooms – simple (e.g. no TV) but charming. Not all... More

We traveled here as a couple and found this hotel nice and cozy. The manager was out of town and there were few young boys who were taking care. Rooms doesn't have telephones but that didnt caused us much trouble. Staff were very helpful and kind. There are 2 small dogs in the hotel as pets, very calm and playful.... More
