A rural hotel in the mountains, on the edge of the beautiful village of LYSO, on the edge of Paphos Forest. The hotel's breathtaking view from every angle and the windows in the room allow view of the view every hour. The traditional hotel building, the cleanliness and order are careful, the personal attitude, kind and professional. The mattress and beds are fresh and pleasant. The shower in the bathroom is relaxed. The room is reasonable size, including 2 seating chairs in the room and 2 on the balcony.

We were intrigued to check out Paradisos Hotel in Lysos as our friends had been told how good it was. Situated outside the Village it sits proudly in its own grounds and is very very well kept. We asked if we could have a look around and the Owner/Manageress arranged for a guided tour. After a good look at the very good facilities including the room types our guide - Zimbabwe Born “Robbie Fowler” - checked with the Manageress for dates of when they were closing for the Winter to enable us to fit a stay in before the new 2024 season begins. Oh and “Zimbabwe Robbie” was very chatty and informative with a number of great tales to tell.

I read a glowing review on their Sunday lunch buffet in the Sunday Mail a few weeks ago and decided to try it out on our last Sunday in Cyprus for the rest of the year. And what a mistake - We should have tried it weeks ago and then been able to go every week!!
Simply the best, tastiest and most authentic Cypriot buffet that we've ever had. And what made it even nicer was that the owners family joined their guests in eating at the same time. No dried up barbecued pork here, it was beautifully juicy and tender; also of special note were the courgette & egg and the enormous stuffed red peppers. An amazing view only added to it being an absolute bargain @ 20euro!

We have stayed at the Paradisos Hils Hotel two years in a row whilst on holiday in Limassol and we tend to think of it as a total
retreat away from everything and everyone! A chance to recharge and reconnect with our heads!

Nestling up in the hills above Latchi totally hidden from view this is an absolute gem of a boutique hotel. Run by Soulla, this family run hotel is a dream. It’s clean, quiet and very well catered for. There is the infinity pool surrounded by loungers and a few hammocks swaying under the palm trees, perfect for a nap or a good book.

The breakfast is buffet style and there are great options for lunch and supper - we got lucky and one night there was a buffet which was amazing. The pastries are melt in your mouth good and if you see the trifle, pile it high!!!!

The rooms are rustic and simple, ours had lovely wooden shutters which when open reveal a double aspect of the sea and mountains. I could have spent the day just sitting looking.

The bed was firm with spare pillows and super soft throws in case you feel cold. Tea and coffee provided in the room, and a fridge too. We also had bath in our en-suite which was a treat. I enjoyed that with loads of bubbles and essential oils, and a glass of fizz.

The locals, and many Cypriots from the wider area come for food and drinks, it’s somewhat famous for the views and a very popular wedding venue (I’m tempted to book it for ours!).

It is quite remote and if you are not a “sitting by the pool” kind of tourist, you may get restless. If you want to explore the mountains beaches I would recommend having a hire car.

All in all it’s a solid 10 gold stars from me. We will be going back next year - we wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Dear pinkiem2017, your review reminds us how lucky we are to be running this hotel and dealing with happy guests like you. We are so happy to see that you like our breakfast buffet, the rooms, the infinity pool, the hammocks and everything else. But most of all it is such a compliment that you are considering our hotel for your wedding. When you are ready I hope you do choose us, if not we wish you all the happiness in the world. Best regards, Soulla.

Family run hotel in the hills between Paphos and Polis. Cooler than the humid seaside resorts in hot weather. An early morning cup of coffee on the veranda watching the light change was really peaceful. Set in beautiful gardens, infinity swimming pool was immaculate, step out of the pool and enjoy truly breathtakingly views over the hills down towards the coast. Rooms are large, well furnished and have tea making facilities. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful owners. I stayed with a group who have been back several times, and will definitely go again. Highly recommended.

This family run hotel is tastefully decorated and provides peace a tranquility, unusual for Pafos. The location offers some village hopping, hiking and is close enough for a short drive to Polis or latsi. There is a fantastic infinity pool for you to enjoy the views of the distant coast or the Pafos forest hills. Homestyle cooking for breakfast and dinner is most enjoyable. If you are lucky enough you will spot the local eagle soaring above you in the mornings or the owls in the evenings. Fantastic hotel and highly recommended.

We booked a Four Night stay on Bed & Breakfast basis and arrived to be welcomed with a friendly face and efficient service. Our room was very nice with everything you needed for a short stay. Clean and tidy with our room serviced daily. Staff were always on hand to help with anything you may need or any problems resolved. Breakfast was plentiful with good quality products available to suit all. We decided to eat our main meal on our arrival day which once again was very nice and freshly prepared. menu is very good with prices typical of Hotel stays. A lovely quiet tranquil place is Paradisos and if you are looking for a Walking Break or just time to relax and unwind the this one is for you. One small negative was the Extremely Temperamental WiFi in the part of the Hotel where our room was located. It seemed fine elsewhere in the Hotel - at Breakfast for example - but not where we were located.

We visited the Paradiso Hills on four occasions, twice for the excellent filter coffee which came with homemade biscuits, once for the excellent Sunday lunch buffet which was superb and once for a midweek evening meal. They did miss offering the biscuits on the second occasion.
The hotel has a stunning ambience overlooking the bay at Arkamis and the Troodos hills and is cooler than the plains being at an elevated height. Whilst we did not stay in the rooms overnight, we could see they are comfortable and well appointed. There is also an infinity pool overlooking the bay. easy parking off the main road to Stavros.
The only issue we had was the Thursday evening meal of rabbit which was on the special's menu. We did not complain as we were entertaining Cypriot guests, but the meal was a bit underwhelming, and the hotel needs to reflect on this. There was no jus on the rabbit which whilst nicely cooked was a disappointment. There were 3 potatoes - not exactly generous along with some salad. The dessert was apple cake which was slightly on the dry side and was not accompanied by cream or ice cream as this would have lifted the quality of the dessert considerably.
There is much to admire and like about the hotel. However, apart from the outstanding Sunday buffet I would not return for an evening meal, and it is embarrassing to invite our Cypriot guests and expect nothing less than excellence.
I am being critical, but hotels have a duty and responsibility for the utmost consistency.

This hotel is so peaceful and tranquil it is the best escape from day to day life. We arrived and immediately relaxed and chilled. As it was March and in the hills outside was a little bit chilly but the rooms were warm with lovely fluffy blankets and duvets for a great sleep. The owners are so welcoming. A great 3 night chill out break. The menu is good especially the steak cheese and fried onion in pita eaten in front of an open fire. Love the place. Sue from Paphos

Answer from RoyKC

I would say other than the pool No, however by car you will be 20 minutes from Polis which has a great sand beach, and no more than 30 minutes from Latchi or Pomos harbour - Pomos is a stoney beach and Latchi and Polis are sand. Please be aware that this top north west end of Cyprus is a quiet and relaxing place and is thankfully not the hustle and bustle of Paphos or Coral Bay

The pool at the hotel is great. That will save you some beach driving. But the beach is way too far to walk or bus easily. Get a car.
Answer from Andreas C
