I enjoyed my stay at Rosa's and would recommend it to those looking for a quiet retreat. Beautiful grounds, spacious rooms and friendly Guatemalan staff. The place could use a good spring cleaning for sure, but the beds were clean and comfortable with nice warm blankets. I had a second floor corner room and it was bright and airy with...

Please note, this review is for the restaurant only. Making dinner arrangements in Santa Cruz is a little quirky. Establishments require that you book by 3:00pm the day-of due to the nature of the town's remoteness. Kitchens like to get a sense of how many people they will need to feed in case they need to round up more supplies...

We decided to have a nice breakfast by the lake shore so we chose this place. It was very nice with a lot of flowers on the pictures. We waited to long for the food and we got 2 waffles not cooked, fruit without flavor and a shell of eggs in the waffles. For the squeezed juice an orange juice...

This hotel was picked by the tour company, G Adventures. We are on a comfort class tour and this was anything but. I wouldn't even stay here as a budget hotel because it's not clean, no hot showers and the food and drinks were so-so. We had room #10 on the second floor. It was not clean at all. There...

For those looking for five star accommodations, this might not be the place for you. What's great about this place is its ideal location right by the lake with an amazing view of the volcanoes. It's a breathtaking sight at all times of the day and night. Also, for those of you looking for a less touristy spot and more...

I'll summing it up, the place is abandoned!!!!!! There were only 2 people working at the place and sadly every single detail was abandoned. Rooms abandoned, curtains with burned holes in them, the bathroom was dirty, the gardens full of old branches with thorns, you couldn't even walk on the paths because all the plants would be booking the way,...

I've stayed at la Casa Rosa three or four times since about 2009. Our last stay was generally nice for the level of comforts that this type of hotel/bed and breakfast offers. The negative comments of previous guests surprised me, but may come from having other expectations, and would discount them based on that. We booked two rooms: Mine, on...

First thing, Rosa, the lovely owner, gave us a bigger room, a bungalow, a nice gesture. The garden with its little benches and walkways is absolutely charming. There ares 2 lounge chairs by the lake and a sitting area right near there. We had it practically to ourselves. Or if you prefer, you can hang out in one of the...

I very recently stayed at the hotel and had an incredible time with my girlfriend. The owner was very nice and helpful and told us he recently took over the place. He's been doing lots of improvements to the property and it's looking stunning. Highly recommended.
