I did my four open water dives at Jinetes de Osa and got certified (did the pool and written test at home beforehand). My diving instructor was excellent and very detail oriented. All diving was done at Cano Island. Remember this is diving in the Pacific Ocean, so don't expect colorful coral reefs or great visibility (check YouTube for a...

Both Drake's Bay and Jinetes de Osa Hotel are small and rural by almost anyone's standards. Drake's Bay boasts a population of ~300 people (or at least so I was told) and the hotel, although full, only had ~20 guests. This makes it a friendly experience where you get to know the other guests. Dinner is included, held in one...

We stayed here for three nights in January 2010. The staff was great, arranged boat transport from Palmar Sur to Drake Bay for us. The grounds of the lodge are great, the rooms are pretty basic (as would be expected in this area). The lodge helped arrange a day trip to Corcovado via boat to the Sirena ranger station on...

My wife, two children ages five and half and my 88 year old mom recently spent two wonderful weeks at Jinetes de Osa. It was a glorious time and we quickly fell into a relaxing tropical routine. There wasn't anything we didn't like about our stay. I spent a fair amount of back and forth time on the internet and...

We stayed at Jinetes for five days this April and had a wonderful holiday. The hotel was simple but very compfortable and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful and food very good. We had an action packed five days - nature trails, hikes, snorkelling and canopy tour. Thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family.

Before going to stay in any hotel in Drake Bay, check to see when the town is holding their annual festival. On Friday night, March 5, the band in town (a mile from our hotel) rocked until 3 am with the loudest bass I have ever heard. Every one in our hotel complained the next morning and I met several...

My son wanted his senior year spring break trip to be an 'adventure in the rainforest'. Costa Rica's Corcovado National Park seemed like a good fit, and I'm really glad we chose Jinetes De Osa. They arranged everything for us, fed us great food every day, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Their approach was...

I traveled to Jinetes de Osa for 5 days in February. It is a magical place only accessible by boat or by foot along the beach. I stayed in room 8 which someone else on this board spoke against - but I had no problem with it. The windows are high so you don't get a view but no one...
