Cabins were very rustic, although beautifully situated. The "open-air" showers connected to the sleeping area and closed off by a sliding door provided a gateway for insect visitors. The nets were helpful, but when pulled down, there was a shower of small deceased insects that had accumulated atop the nets Bird watching was excellent....Macaws.....Toucans, etc., and being awakend by the sound...

Scarlet macaws flew overhead when we arrived at Finca Maresia, as Juan the owner greeted us. It was a great welcome. Finca Maresia is a lovely place to stay, even though it is up the hill from the beach. Our superior bungalow had a modern open-air shower, and two hammocks on the deck (no arguing over who gets the hammock!),...

The bungalows are wide spread in a beautiful park surrounded by the jungle. Only 6 bungalows make it a very personal, cozy place, where you feel home from the first second on. In the evening everybody eats together on a large table. The restaurant is on the top of the hill and has superb views on the jungle and the...

We stayed at Fince Maresia for 3 nights. We had Cabin 2 looking onto the forest. We saw macaws and other birds in the trees. There is a great balcony with two hammocks to sit. The room has a very modern bathroom with open air shower. Electricity was iffy at times but at lease we had it most times for...

If you're looking for a little more privacy in or near your room and want excellent food and great company, stay at Finca Maresia. Total serenity, great atmosphere. Miguel is a wonderful host. Staying right in town is fine if you're used to dogs barking and roosters crowing at all hours. Finca Maresia is just outside of town, very peaceful...

My husband and I stayed at Finca Maresia for three nights on our trip to Drake Bay. I'd say it was a pretty mixed bag. On the one hand, I liked the relative seclusion of the property and the bungalows were interesting. The open shower in the bathroom was quite unique and fun. We took the critter night tour and...

We stayed in a standard bungalow... you would like it if you are into modern & minimalist design. Not too much space in the rooms, but there is a private deck with hammocks, as well as a communal deck where you can relax and socialize with other guests. Having a safe in each room is very convenient. The family style...

We stayed at Finca Maresia For 3 nights and it was the best hotel we have been in Costa Rica. We couldn't believe in such an amazing place for such a low price! Very nice and clean rooms right in the middle of the jungle. You can have a shower watching the monkeys climbing from tree to tree. Juan was...

This was the place we liked the best while staying in Costa Rica for 2 1/2 weeks. If you like nature and don't mind rustic/basic (but very clean!), this is a great place. We stayed in a "superior bungalow" with open bathroom and shower (towards the jungle). The finca is a bit away from the coast and "town" (the ~...
